Summary
Love, they say, is magnified by absence. After the dream-like quality of Iris' visit at Paul's sea-side home, she is back in the routine and drudgery of her city life. Struggling to put a label on what they have together, they phone and write letters, trying to sustain the flame, until they can make time to be in each other's arms again. But once they are, how do you pull back into proportions a love so magnified it burns?

Contains adult themes and bdsm.

Someone Crank Up The Fan This is a HOT One
Laila Blake has done it again. Trading Tides is the second erotica novella in the Breaking the Waves series. The first is Driftwood Deeds and when I reviewed that a while back I was quite new to erotica and had absolutely no clue about the kinky stuff. Well, a lot of time has passed and I’m still pretty new to these genres. I started this review by saying Laila Blake has done it again. What does that mean? Well she has managed to trap me in her web of wonderful writing. This authors style is poetic without it being a poem. The emotion that was portrayed among the pages was brilliant. This genre might not be a favorite of mine but Ms Blake certainly is a favorite author of mine.

I must warn you this is a very steamy book intended for adults only. Seriously there is heavy action going on in these pages so maturity while reading is a must. In Trading Tides we are once again with Iris and Paul. They have reconnected and though their relationship isn’t defined Iris has given herself to Paul in every way. Ms Blake doesn’t just write she will make you feel. Though several things were extremely heavy and obviously sexual the connection these two have goes beyond that. Transcending from the physical into the deeply emotional doesn’t always happen with these types of books. Have no fear Paul and Iris’ connection is deep. I was so happy to see them together.

I want to say the ending was pretty great I felt like Iris was able to work through her insecurities and finally found parts of herself she didn’t understand. I’m not sure if there will be more but as I said this was a great ending Paul and Isis both have hang-ups but they are good together. If you are looking for a great adult read charged with passion and self discovery pick up this series. If you’ve already read the first in this series then you absolutely must pick up this second one. Adults only please.

My Rating
4.0  Writer, Screenplay, Ocean, Wine, Texts, Packages, Table, Skype, Dinner, Bathroom, River, Leather, Drunk, Bar, Confession, Gift, Acknowledgement, Surrendering to Love filled stars. For a super steamy quick read check out this series.

About The Author
I was born in 1985 into a family of artists, hippies and individualists in Cologne/Germany, creativity was fostered from an early age. Where my family focussed mainly on visual art (painters, sculptors, my mother was a brilliant puppet player!), I soon started to discover my love for the written word and have been writing and reading ever since. Getting side-tracked by school and getting a serious and reputable degree (an MA in Applied Linguistics/Specialized Translating), I only truly and honestly allowed myself to give writing a real shot in my mid-twenties. I grew up not only bi-lingual and interested in the creative professions, I also learned how dangerous it can be to place one’s trust on talent alone. Now that I have a somewhat stable job, I have been writing in every free minute, trying to put together a good body of work.
