GR's Summary:

This book is a stand-alone A LITTLE TOO FAR novel.

"Every page is deliciously breathtaking, wickedly sexy and sensational. A LITTLE TOO HOT is wonderfully unique and a LOT HOT! I am a HUGE Lisa Desrochers fan." --KATY EVANS, New York Times bestselling author of REAL

If you play with fire…

Tossed out of college and cut off by her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen’s club, who is she to turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny’s: No touching, keep your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet. Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every single one of them.

Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but he’s got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming.

Because Harrison Yates isn’t who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.

My Thoughts:

This whole series is superb!  Each story in the series can be read as a standalone, yet it's fun to read them back to back, because all of the characters are linked through friendship, and we get glimpses of them in each installment. I am so grateful that Ms. Desrochers decided to explore the New Adult Contemporary genre.  She is such a talented author, and I am so excited to have discovered the, A Little Too Far Series!  Each book in this series leaves me with a book hangover, and desperate for more!

A Little Too Hot, by Lisa Desrochers, completely blew me away!  It was an addictive, sensual, and suspenseful read, that kept me riveted until the last word was read!  The story begins where Sam, (Lexie's estranged friend,) has been crashing on her good friend Jonathan's couch, because she is jobless, and homeless at the moment.  Her mother and stepfather threw her out of there home, after she flunked out of college, and proved to be irresponsible. Sam desperately finds herself in need of a job, so Jonathan introduces her to Ben, an associate of his, who runs an exotic dance club.

Sam has to try out for the position, and when she goes on stage, she finds herself inspired when she see's a good-looking guy that looks like Trent.  She wants Trent to see what he is missing out on, after he broke her heart, when he left her for Lexie.  However, as the guy comes closer to the stage, she realizes that it isn't Trent.  The good-looking stranger that faintly resembles Trent, is Harrison Yates, and he is also currently suffering from a broken heart, after his fiancee, and best friend of 8 years, left him.  However, seeing Sam on stage has his blood boiling.  He desire's her, and finds himself returning to the club night after night, where he sets up private shows so that he can have Sam all to himself.  Little does Sam know, but Harrison Yates isn't what he seems, and what quickly ensues is a story with excitement, danger, suspense, strong sexual chemistry, and passion!

Whew, I can't believe it, but I already have a book to add to my favorites for 2014 list!  Yes, that is how amazing, A Little Too Hot, was!  I will be recommending this story to all of my reading friends.  Talk about a major book hangover!

It took a while for Sam to grow on me as a character.  She made a lot of bad decisions, was self-centered, whinny, and irresponsible.  However, I'm happy to say that Sam showed an amazing amount of character growth in this story.  She matured, learned how to put others before herself, and turned her life around!  I loved seeing the person that she became, and how she finally grew up. Harrison carried a lot of burdens on his shoulders, was very responsible, and boy did I ever fall in love!  Everyone needs a Harrison Yates in their lives.  This man is beyond sexy, cooks gourmet meals for Sam, is intelligent, sensitive, works out (and has the body to show for it,) and really cares about her.  The sexual chemistry between Sam and Harrison was super intense, and oh so palpable!  I turned pages like a mad woman!  I just could not get enough of this story!

My Rating:

There were many major twists and turns throughout the entire plot, but the first major plot twist, had my mouth hanging open and saying, "No Way!!!"  I never saw it coming.  Everything in this story was phenomenal!  The characters were well developed and well loved, the plot hooked me, and was exciting, the story was fresh, and had that extra special something.  As far as I'm concerned, Ms. Desrochers knocked this story out of the ballpark, and she cannot write fast enough!  I give A Little Too Hot, 5 Keep Em' Coming Stars!!!  I need more of this series!!!  Trust me!!!  You want this series on your e-reader!!!

My Favorite Quote:

" 'I've never been on fire like this for any other woman.'  My heart skips. 'You're on fire for me?'  He hangs his head, but his smoldering gaze stays locked on mine.  'Burning alive.' " (eARC, Loc. 4588)
