GR's Summary:

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Jennifer Probst sparks a blissful mind-body connection as her “sexy, satisfying” (Kirkus Reviews) new series continues!

She’s an expert in helping others de-stress, but Arilyn Meadows is running on fumes. Along with her job counseling singles seeking soul mates at the Kinnections agency in Verily, New York, she’s a yoga teacher, animal shelter volunteer, anger management therapist, and helping hand to her beloved grandfather. No time to find Mr. Right—but after discovering her yogi boyfriend in a compromising asana, Arilyn would rather dog-sit for her honeymooning friend Kate than risk her heart on another downward dog. And when police officer Stone Petty—radiating masculinity and bad-boy attitude—is sent to her for mandatory lessons in cooling off when the job gets too hot, Arilyn vows to ignore his seductive glances and sexy grin. But there’s no halting their sizzling flirtation—a red-hot, high-speed chase that’s breaking all the limits.

Lindy's Thoughts:

Searching for Always is Arilyn Meadows' story.  All of Arilyn's friends; Kate, Kennedy, and Gen have found their soul mates, and Airlyn envies the deep connection, and passion filled relationships that her friends have.  However, she's had nothing but bad luck in the relationship department.  She just caught the man that she thought was her soulmate, having hot and heavy sex with one of his Yoga students.  Now, Arilyn is in a really bad state of mind.  She's depressed, and angry.  None of her go-to-methods of relaxation, and calm seem to be helping her get out of her funk.  Even her best friends are concerned about her.

Then Arilyn's life changes when officer Stone Petty is enrolled in her six-week anger management course, after he beats up an abusive spouse on a domestic call.  These two could not stand each other, when they first met during a problem Gen was having with her ex, and neither are looking forward to seeing each other again.  As Arilyn and Stone get to know one another during the duration of the anger management course, strong attraction and dislike, grows in to friendship, and then love.  However, Stone doesn't do relationships.  He has one failed marriage, and just wants a casual affair, or so he tells himself.  What happens when he realizes that Ariylyn wants and deserves more than he can offer?

Searching for Always was simply amazing.  I loved it for so many reasons!  Arilyn and Stone were two characters with smoldering chemistry, but very different likes.  They went toe to toe with one another, and I was completely entertained with the battle of wits and wills between them.  They were snarky, feisty, flirty, and both liked to push each other's buttons.  As a reader, I loved watching it all take place!

I loved seeing a different side to Arilyn than what I've been use to.  In the previous stories, she came off as the most mellow, easy going, and fun loving of the bunch.  I loved how Stone brought out the spitfire in her!  Stone was a brooding alpha male.  He was stubborn, and yet without even realizing it right away, Arilyn changed him.  He learned how to open up more, compromise, and get out of his usual routine and comfort zone.

As far as secondary characters are concerned, Arilyn's grandfather "Poppy," and neighbor, Mrs. Blackfire (also known as "The Witch,") brought a lot of levity and humor to the story.  I was laughing hard at these two characters antics, and at the same time felt emotional when they shared their life stories.  We also get, two rescue dogs that play a meaningful part in the story; Kate's dog, Robert, who Arilyn dog sits for a week, and an abused Chihuaua by the name of "Pinky."  For animal lovers like myself, you will adore these two dogs, and feel sympathetic towards what Pinky is going through.

Of course we also get Kate, Kennedy, and Gen as well, showing love, loyalty, and support to their best friend.  There even was a scene where we got some crossover characters from, The Marriage to a Billionaire series, which made me all kinds of happy!  Ms. Probst's stories always have strong ties to family and friendship, which I absolutely adore.

The romance between Arilyn and Stone was beautiful.  We get a deep emotional connection between these characters, fiery passion, compromise, and a beautiful melding of their lives as a couple.  The end of the story was an "aww" kind of moment, and left me with the hope that this series will be continuing.

My Rating:

I give, Searching for Always, by Jennifer Probst, 4.5 Searing Chemistry, Love Like No Other, Healing, and Happiness Filled Stars!

Ro's Take on this Journey:

My reading experience with Ms. Probst began with the Marriage to a Billionaire series.  I fell madly in love with her characters, and it has carried over into the Searching for series.  In Searching for Always, we get the fourth segment of this, "Love has got a spell on me series!"  My eyes were glued to this book, as in all the rest of Ms. Probst's prior novels.

This story was about Arilyn Meadows; the confident, secretive, philanthropic, Zen Master of the Kinnections gang of Verily.  Arilyn has always held in together, found answers to problems in a calm, reasonable fashion.  Now, she has been faced with the reality of her broken relationship with her boyfriend, who turned out to be a douche bag!!!

On the heels of, Searching for Beautiful, Ms. Probst introduced her readers to the crotchety police officer, Stone Petty.  As a devout fan of Ms. Probst, I just knew that he would make it into her next segment, and that Arilyn and Stone were going to have one hot and steamy romp!!!  Well readers, I was correct!  These two get together by default.  Of course, Stone, and his hot head get him in to trouble once again.  He has some mandatory time to spend with anger management, and finds himself getting a lot more than he bargained for!

The constant rhetoric of these two characters reminded me of my parents, so I knew that they could end up having one hell of a ride!!!  These two characters are polar opposites, but we all know that that makes for a lot of fights, and even more making up!  These two can jump from one to ten in the blink of an eye.  Neither one likes to back down, but when fate steps into their path, they can't help themselves.

Ms. Probst is at the top of her game.  She can weave a tale like no other.  She has completely imbibed these characters into the fiber of my soul, starting from the first series with Mama Conte!  I want my own Mama Conte...she is a one of a kind gem!  The reader will even get so enthralled with the series that Ms. Blackfire will get under your skin, make you mad, cry, sigh, and laugh out loud.

The writing was excellent, the characters are beloved, well rounded, and delightful.  The fact that Stone starts out like a cave man in every way and turns into a lovable character will leave readers breathless. I loved every moment of this new adventure, and I hope it never ends!  Thank You Ms. Probst for your wonderful, inspiring, delightful, all encompassing stories.  I will treasure them always.

My Rating:

I give, Searching for Always, by Jennifer Probst, 5 Zen Filled, Sassy, Sexy, Happily Ever After, Long Awaited Stars!!!

  3. Great review gals, this series is new to me. I love that Arilyn is not over her heartbreak as fast as other gals are in books. I like that Stone is not insta-loving her. I am thinking I am going to have to read this series soon.

  4. I must admit, the idea of a cop beating up an abusive spouse has me wanting to cheer instead enroll him in anger management. I like the idea of him wanting a casual affair and then maybe figuring out he does want more. Gotta love amazing stories too.
