Summary
Princess Eadlyn has grown up hearing endless stories about how her mother and father met. Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won the heart of Prince Maxon—and they lived happily ever after. Eadlyn has always found their fairy-tale story romantic, but she has no interest in trying to repeat it. If it were up to her, she'd put off marriage for as long as possible.

But a princess's life is never entirely her own, and Eadlyn can't escape her very own Selection—no matter how fervently she protests.

Eadlyn doesn't expect her story to end in romance. But as the competition begins, one entry may just capture Eadlyn's heart, showing her all the possibilities that lie in front of her . . . and proving that finding her own happily ever after isn't as impossible as she's always thought.

Leading A Nation Isn't What It Seems

I’m such a fan girl of this series its almost embarrassing. Almost. Maxon and America captured my heart in the first three installments. Seeing that they were going to be back in a 4th with the main focus being their daughter Eadlyn I was floored. Another selection folks! Gah! There is unrest and though the castes have been eradicated the discrimination attached to the stigmas has increased. The palace is in charge of taking care of the nation but they are at a loss. Everyone is back from the first three books and it was beyond a delight to see how everyone is. Cass does not disappoint all of the feels are there and then some! The castle and general aura of everything is as it once full of magic. No actual magic was used but it all felt so enchanting. I loved the details in the dresses and everything in general. If you’re a fan of the first set this will be a delightful treat! I do not recommend this out of order because there are so many feels that will be missed when reading this! Start with the first Selection book!! I gobbled the first three and all of the novellas as they came out! Gah! I’m such a fan!

The Story, As I mentioned…Unrest everyone is po’d but we come to find out at the very end why exactly everyone is so upset. Maxon has been a wonderful king with his beloved by all queen America. They have four children, 3 boys 1 girl. Eadlyn is the oldest followed by her twin brother but the crown belongs to the first born, so she has always had the weight of the world on her shoulders. Everyone feels a Selection is just what the country needs to fall in love again. Well, at least to distract them from all of the problems plaguing the conditions of the provinces. Cue like a million boys…Lol jk but seriously 35! Yikes that’s a lot of fellas. This part was a bit harder to follow along with because there are so many of them and I could see how overwhelming everything was for Eady. I was hoping that by the end I would have a clear picture of who her “one” would be but alas that is not the case. Regardless I’m like a dog looking for a bone with this one!! I Can’t wait to see what happens next. I tried to look into the name but all I found was a mini blurb saying the next book would be the last. I hope that is a gross over assumption…I want scratch that I need at least two more!! Lol nvmd I’ll take what I can get!!! It doesn’t come out till 2016!! What in the actual?

The Characters, I spoke a bit on everyone from the past being in this installment! Insert squeal here ___ That’s all I’ll say about that. Eady wow…She’s not perfect and she grows a lot with the selection but she still has walls and is scared to open up to a boy. I look forward to seeing her embrace love and the transformation that has for her. The boys…35 of said 35 there are Kile/ Henri(Erik)/ and Hale that have the best shot. Eirk is Henri’s translator but I think he could be a real dark horse in the race. I’m team #Kile but he hasn’t really been there for her yet. Erik has been a great alliance to have during these crazy events. Henri is her buddy but I got the impression she cares for him as a friend. Hale is total bud status and his character kind of fizzles out by the end. I can’t wait to see what’s next but when I read this next would be the last I was like no way! There’s too much to do?! LOL okay I surrender I hope she ends up with Kile but because there isn’t a clear who’s who or who is doing what then I’m sure whoever she chooses will be fine.

The End, pretty cliffy but I think all is well. One thing I will mention is Eady pictures someone with her and she is determined to have a ring on her finger…BUT WHO?! GAH!! Great book great series I’m a fan what can I say!

  1. This is a series that I've been on the fence with for quite some time. I keep wanting to get the first book, but something always holds me back. Part of it is the way the girls have to compete in the beginning. that just threw me off. Still, I've read that there's more to the plot than that. I may pick the first book up on my next one-click spree. LOL

  3. Cliffy?! Oh no!!!! I hate cliffhangers. I waited until the entire trilogy was completely before reading this... THEN I found out there was a book 4. I'm so not good with series because I hate book that end in a cliffhanger... and I hate the wait until the next book even more. I do have this and want to read it soon, but now I'm scared of the cliffy. LOL!
