GR's Summary:

The first book in a sensational New Adult trilogy from Noelle August...

Welcome to Boomerang.com, the dating site for the millennial gen with its no-fuss, no-commitments matchups, and where work is steamier than any random hook-up.

Mia Galliano is an aspiring filmmaker. Ethan Vance has just played his last game as a collegiate soccer star. They’re sharp, hungry for success, and they share a secret.

Last night, Ethan and Mia met at a bar, and, well . . . one thing led to another, which led to them waking up the next morning—together. Things turned awkward in a hurry when they found themselves sharing a post hookup taxi . . . to the same place: Boomerang headquarters.

What began as a powerful connection between them is treated to a cold shower courtesy of two major complications. First, Boomerang has a strict policy against co-worker dating. And second, they’re now competitors for only one job at the end of summer.

As their internships come to an end, will they manage to keep their eyes on the future and their hands off each other, or will the pull of attraction put them right back where they started?

My Thoughts:

Boomerang was such a cute, fun, humorous, and romantic love story.   It's the story of Mia and Ethan, and told from their dual perspectives.  These two applied for an internship at Boomerang, an up and coming matchmaking site.  The night they both go out to celebrate, they end up drunk, making out, and Mia's naked in Ethan's bed naked the next morning.  Neither really remembers what happenned, but one thing is obvious, and that is the sizzling chemistry and undeniable attraction that they share.  As the story unfolds, both Mia and Ethan remember bits and pieces of their steamy night together.  The next morning, they are shocked when they both end up at the Boomerang office.  They learn that the internships that they thought they had earned, have been turned in to a competition of sorts.  There is only one position available, and it's all a matter of who does a better job at the end of the summer.  They will be setting up the Boomerang booth at a huge match making conference in Las Vegas.  Things between Mia and Ethan are now very complicated.  Not only are they competitors, but there is also a strict no dating co-workers policy at Boomerang.  As their attraction for one another grows, they are expected to sit side by side at work daily, and even date applicants at Boomerang to go through the process.  Will Mia and Ethan be able to stay away from each other?  What do you do when you have to choose between your dream job, and your dream mate?

Boomerang was such a fun story!  I could see it being made in to a romantic comedy for the big screen!  It was a very light hearted, feel good, laugh out loud funny, great time story.  I felt like I was right their with Mia and Ethan as they lived this romantic adventure with one another.  They were both great characters!  I thought that they were both very likable and fun.  I could see myself being friends with both of them.  The secondary characters were great as well.  I loved Mia's best friends, Beth and Skylar, as well as Ethan's roommates, Jason and Isis.  Their co-workers at Boomerang added a great dynamic to the story as well.  All of these characters made for an amazing supporting cast.

I highly recommend Boomerang!  It was an extremely fast-paced story.  If you are looking for a light, fun, entertaining, feel good read, this one is a great choice for a Bookish Escape.  I can't wait to continue this series and see what happens next.  When you put Veronica Rossi and Lorin Oberweger together, you get pure magic!  This team sure knows how to create a sweet, sizzling hot, and beautiful romance together.  You will love the characters, and the twists and turns in the plot will keep you hooked!!!  I give Boomerang by Noelle August, 4 Fun, Adventurous, Sexy, Funny, "Falling In Love," Filled Stars!  This story is a great addition to any romance lover's library, and is sure to be a hit!!!

About Noelle August:

NOELLE AUGUST is an anagram for Veronica Rossi and Lorin Oberweger. Just kidding, it's a pen name!

VERONICA ROSSI is the author of the New York Times Best-selling UNDER THE NEVER SKY trilogy for young adults. The books are available in more than thirty countries and the film rights have been optioned by Warner Bros. Veronica completed undergraduate studies at UCLA and lives in Northern California with her husband and two sons. She is fond of dresses with pockets, fluffy dogs, and cheese and chocolate -- but not together.

LORIN OBERWEGER began her storytelling career by captivating her first-grade class with tales of her summers on a kibbutz in Israel. Lorin had never been to Israel. While teacher/parent night put an end to her first experiments in fiction, she’d already caught the bug and eventually made a career of all things story. As a long-time independent editor and story development guru, Lorin's client successes range from small press publications to major bestselling novels. She's an award-winning author and has also worked behind the scenes as a ghostwriter on a variety of projects. Her work has received starred Kirkus reviews and glowing mentions in The New York Times. Oh, she did get to see a kibbutz, eventually, and found out she had it pretty much right all along.

Veronica and Lorin met at a writing workshop and just knew they were destined to create awesome things together.

  1. I had a secret crush on my hubby we had many mutual friends and worked together so i tried to resist him. One day he said we need to go to lunch for a managers meeting and we had nice time but i didn't think anything of it then on the way back to work he walked me to the door and said "that was our first date and you didn't even know it" and kissed me on my cheek and i was hooked.
