Goodreads Summary:

An insatiable attraction heats to the boiling point in this brand-new book set in the shore town of Sea Breeze, from bestselling author Abbi Glines.

Preston is one bad boy. And Amanda has harbored a crush on him for forever. When she finally makes her move on him, it does not end well. But still, she can’t resist him. Especially now that he seems to be pursuing her, too.

No one wants wants them to be be together. Not Amanda’s brother Marcus, who is on the verge of his marriage to Low, and definitely not any of Preston's buddies. They know way too much about Preston’s dark side. Yet the dangerous attraction is there...and neither Preston nor Amanda are going to deny it.

My Thoughts:

Just for Now, was the the fourth book in the Sea Breeze series by Abbi Glines. It was the story of Marcus' sister Amanda, and his best friend Preston. Amanda has harbored a secret crush on Preston since the age of 16.  Now that she's all grown-up, she wants him to notice her as a woman.  So she dresses sexy, flirts with him, and does everything she can to get him to not see her as a little girl anymore, and it works. Preston knows that he isn't good enough for Amanda. He has a reputation of being a womanizer, and has never been in a relationship. However, he can't help but fantasize about Amanda, and has to constantly fight his urges and attraction to her. Preston fears that he will hurt her, and hurt his best friend Marcus, her brother. Then, one night things go too far, and after that he just can't seem to stay away from her, and Amanda doesn't want him to.

What I enjoyed most about this book was getting to see another side of Preston. His mother is an alcoholic, and drug addict that goes from man to man. These men mooch off of her and mistreat Preston's siblings. Preston does everything for the kids. He buys groceries once a week, pays for their doctor, and dental visits, and extracurricular activities. He drives them to and from all of their appointments, and pays the rent and utilities for their mother's trailer. In the meantime, their mother is unappreciative of everything he does, and is disrespectful to him. She also says really mean things to the kids, and doesn't show them any love or affection. The mother's day consists of getting drunk, sleeping, taking off for days, and neglecting her children.  Preston remembers how horrible his childhood was and doesn't want the same things for his siblings. He used to live on bread and water, and if it hadn't been for Marcus bringing him a lunch to school everyday, he would have pretty much starved.  Amanda grew very close to the kids, and the kids in turn forged a special bond with her and knew that she was there for them if they needed her.  This is one of the many reasons that Preston fell in love with her.

Amanda matured a lot in this story. She didn't seem as young or dependent on her brother anymore, and she was willing to stand up and fight for what she wanted. She also had a huge heart, and we got to see her compassion a lot in this story. The way she doted on Preston's siblings, and nurtured Preston showed how warm-hearted she was.

I also loved how Abbi Glines incorporated all of the main characters from the other stories. We got to see bits of Jax and Sadie, Marcus and Low, Cage and Eva, and other minor characters that I am hoping will get their own story in upcoming books in the series. The reason why I enjoy this so much, is because when each book in the series ends, I miss the characters.  I love how Abbi finds a way for the reader to get to keep on learning about what is happening in the lives of our favorite characters.

I enjoyed, Just For Now and give it 5 super Smokin' Hot Stars! It had my emotions going up and down along with the plot. I have come to love and enjoy all of the characters in this story, and Preston and Amanda are no different. Abbi's biggest talent is creating believable characters that we come to love and relate to. We root for them to be successful, and cry when they're heart broken. This whole series is an excellent read and I highly recommend it!
