YA Paranormal Hop

I Am a Reader, Not a Writer & YA Between the Lines

Win an Signed Copy of Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff

Goodreads Summary:

The city of Ludlow is gripped by the hottest July on record. The asphalt is melting, the birds are dying, petty crime is on the rise, and someone in Hannah Wagnor’s peaceful suburban community is killing girls.

For Hannah, the summer is a complicated one. Her best friend Lillian died six months ago, and Hannah just wants her life to go back to normal. But how can things be normal when Lillian’s ghost is haunting her bedroom, pushing her to investigate the mysterious string of murders? Hannah’s just trying to understand why her friend self-destructed, and where she fits now that Lillian isn’t there to save her a place among the social elite. And she must stop thinking about Finny Boone, the big, enigmatic delinquent whose main hobbies seem to include petty larceny and surprising acts of kindness.

With the entire city in a panic, Hannah soon finds herself drawn into a world of ghost girls and horrifying secrets. She realizes that only by confronting the Valentine Killer will she be able move on with her life—and it’s up to her to put together the pieces before he strikes again.

Paper Valentine is a hauntingly poetic tale of love and death by the New York Times bestselling author of The Replacement and The Space Between.

    2. Definitely. The movie looks really good, but I can already tell it's not going to encompass all the book has to offer.

      Delete
    3. Yeah, the books are always so much better than the movies! I don't think you can fit all of the details from a book in the movie. Plus nothing can compare to our imagination!

      Delete
    4. Exactly, haha. I'm one of those that can appreciate a movie for what it is and not link it too much with a book, but I can't turn off all my opinions.

    5. I'm the same. I try to not set my expectations too high, or I'll be disappointed! That way if it's really good, I'll enjoy it, and if it's not good, I won't be too disappointed.

  23. I tend to change my favorite a lot depending on what I've read most recently (just so long as it was really good!) and the most recent I've read that would be closest to this catagory is Everneath by Brodi Ashton. I waited until I had the second to read so that I would only have the third to wait for!! I really liked this book a lot :)
