Goodreads Summary:

Their Romeo-and-Juliet-level passion is the only thing Jude and Lucy agree on. That, and fighting all the time . . .

Also not helping? Lucy's raging jealousy of the cheerleader who's wormed her way into Jude's life.

While trying to hang on to her quintessential bad boy and also training to be the top ballet dancer in her class, Lucy knows something's going to give . . . soon.

How can she live without the boy she loves? How can she live with herself if she gives up on her dreams? If Lucy doesn't make the right choice, she could lose everything.

My Thoughts:

Clash was such a great story.  I enjoyed it considerably more than Crash!  Talk about a roller coaster ride!  This book was filled with intensity, sexual tension, and passion.  Luce and Jude had the same kind of relationship as the main characters in the movie, The Notebook.  They either were madly in love, or fighting passionately with one another.  I loved how open with his fillings Jude was in Clash, as opposed to Crash.  I saw a huge amount of character growth in him.  He greatly improved controlling his anger and calming down when something happened to upset him.  He went out of his way to reassure Luce of his love and loyalty. Jude was a really considerate boyfriend who was supportive of Luce's dream to dance and would sit front and center during her performances cheering her on.

Unfortunatley, Luce seemed to take a step back as far as her character growth is concerned.  She was jealous, and had series trust issues.  Jude asked her to trust him continually, but she constantly doubted Jude's loyalty and honesty.  In her defense, when certain situations arose, things looked pretty bad.  However, if you're in a relationship and you tell your significant other that you are going to trust them, then you need to hear them out, and give them the benefit of the doubt.   Luce didn't do this.  Even when Jude proved himself to be loyal and madly in love with her, she still doubted Jude and their relationship.  She was too stubborn, and let herself stay miserable without trying to make things better.  I felt bad for Jude a couple of times throughout this book.

Clash was a real page turner!  The plot was really dynamic, and there were a lot of twists and turns in the story.  I really couldn't stand the antagonist in the story.  She was a manipulative, lying, and cheating person without morals.  She was willing to do whatever it took to get what she wanted, and number one on her list was Jude.  Ms. Williams did an excellent job of writing her characters.  They were realistic, flawed, and really brought the story to life.  I enjoyed the setting of the story which made this book more New Adult then young Adult.  Jude and Luce both attended colleges in New york while they pursued their dream.  I felt like I too was in New York.  I could feel the snow, and hear the car sliding on ice as Luce drove without her snow tires.  I imagined that I was in college attending dance rehearsals and cheering Jude on during his college football games.  That is how much Clash came to life for me!  I can't wait for the third installment titled Crush to be released.  I give Clash 5 I couldn't put this book down stars.  I highly recommend this series if you enjoy mature YA or New Adult books.  Fans of Abbi Glines' Sea Beeze Series as well as Elizabeth Reyes' Moreno Brothers will enjoy this series!

My Favorite Quotes:

"With one flick of his fingers, my bra snapped free from my back, sliding down my arms until it landed on the floor beside Jude's feet.  His mouth covered mine again, hot and unyielding.  I couldn't breathe.  I didn't want to if it meant not being able to kiss Jude like he was kissing me right now.  How he could make me feel his passion, his love, and his possession in one kiss was inexplicable.  But he could.  Jude's body expressed his feelings, more often than not, better than his words."  (Nook, pg. 28)

"Luce, Jude said, unfurling the blanket cinched around me, grabbing my hands when he pulled them free, you're my girl.  The girl.  To join the other emotions flashing over his face, a trace of pain did as well.  When I look at Adriana, or any other girl for that matter, that's all I see.  Some other girl who isn't my girl.  I don't see them, Luce.  I see you, he continued, his skin lining between his brows.  I've only ever seen you."  (Nook pg. 48)

"I wouldn't exactly call four times in a twenty-four hour period a physical impossibility.  He snatched my underwear out of the air before they bulls-eyed his face.  Was that a challenge, Luce?"  (Nook, pg. 403)

    1. Yes, I can't wait for Crush to come out! The series keeps getting better and better, so I have high hopes for Crush. Either way, I figure Luce and Jude's relationship is still going to be a roller coaster with lots of ups and downs. Hopefully, they both end up feeling more secure in their relationship, and we have a HEA! Thanks for reading my review :)

    2. I know! I SO want a HEA! Have you read Up In Flames by Nicole Williams? Its new adult and I found the characters really good. If you don't mind the bit about cheating you should definitely give it a try :)
