ARC for Review

Summary
Leaving her small town behind, Bethany Casse moves to Chicago in search of a new life. Working at a top financial bank brings her into contact with two men who are as different as night and day.

Kent Plack, heir to Plack Industries, has no interest in being with a woman for longer than one night. A spoiled and lazy man-whore, he is completely content with his playboy lifestyle, and Beth is surprised when they form an unlikely friendship.

Brian Burcham, a finance banker, is gorgeous and respectful. A man plucked from Beth’s dreams, he is definite husband material. Unfortunately, Beth has a hard rule against dating coworkers, but Brian is determined to change her mind.

When a deadbeat mother and money problems follow her to Chicago, Beth is offered a solution that could fix everything. Marrying for money seems simple enough, but when lines become blurred, Beth faces difficult choices, making her realize that the easy way out just made her life even harder than before.

The Way I See It

Whew that was close…I had a giddy moment when I was like, “sure i’m totally over booked and 5 reviews in one week is a BAD idea”!! 4 is bad enough but 5? Crazy crazy talk!! Then I re-read the synopsis and was like “YOLO bee-yotches!!!” I made the jump, the commitment…Knowing I’d need a head start I snuck this one in as soon as I could…10% wasn’t really feeling the love. The boys, I fell for them right away(no surprise there eh) Not gonna lie I got a little nervous because I was not really feeling beth. She was smart, driven, committed and she’d been through a lot so I understood her but I didn't get the feels…THEN SOMETHING MAGICAL HAPPENED!!! She let go I’m not sure if it was me who let go or Beth let go but I…

Fell.In.Love.

This story propelled forward and swept me away with it!! I loved all of the characters right away, the only person I wasn’t sure about was beth but once she won me over everything took off from there!

M-
istakes, Beth fears doing the wrong thing she has worked too hard for the life she hopes to start now.
A-
lone, being from a small town and not having many people by her side now in Chicago she feels much smaller.
R-
eality, meeting a billionaire will rock her world, for some reason the attraction isn’t the only thing that moves Beth. There is a connection there she doesn’t quite understand.
R-
elief, knowing that her life is in order, accepting Kent’s friendship seems like the best decision.
Y-
esterday, though Beth has tried to put the past behind her it keeps coming back taking claim of her life.

M-
emory, her heart has been shut down but dazzling blue eyes want her to embrace a new opportunity.
E-
venings, finding solace with her new friend, Kent fills holes in Beth’s heart she never knew existed.

F-
orgetting, Beth takes a leap being with Brian makes her happy she finally feels like she can begin a new life.
O-
pportunity, faced with an impossible reality Kent asks Beth something neither of them understands. The next few months will become very confusing. The established lines and connection they once shared will become gray, but something about his family is very comforting.
R-
emorse, Beth has made a promise she cannot take back. She will do what she can to bring back peace and balance to her life, but its too late.

M-
istakes, Brian is hurt, Beth has been selfish but she can’t change the past. Even if she could deep down she knows her decision would remain the same. She may not realize this now but her life is about to change.
O-
pinion, everyone sees the change but Beth cant admit what has been calling to her heart since the beginning.
N-
oises, echoes of pain come barreling forward, Kent saves Beth from a nightmare neither of them realize the worst is yet to come.
E-
mbracing, Kent knows he has made plenty of mistakes but he will do what ever it takes to prove his worth and to prove everyone wrong. His heart beckons him to do what is right, and he will not ignore what he knows he must do.
Y-
earning, Beth has been patient a broken heart takes time to mend. Her life hasn’t been easy, though she’s tried to make all the right choices its all of her actions that have brought her here enveloped in her Nana’s memory. Happy with the way things turned out.

Like I said it took me a bit to warm up to Beth but once she opened up and I got to enjoy the carefree light hearted fun person she truly is, I loved her. This is one of those books that I could see myself reading over and over again. By the time I got to the end I was so invested in these characters I balled and balled. Their pain became my anguish I seriously felt the agony in my stomach. Its so important when an author can do that. A very fun idea I’m glad I was able to forsake sleep for this title as it was quite enjoyable.

My fav’s

Kent

I loved that he was honest. Kind of a jerky face but I knew the moment he fell in love with Beth. I wanted him to shout from the rooftops unfortunately that’s just not his style. Normally a guy like that gets no support from me but I could tell that Kent was scared to let anyone down. His heart was golden from the beginning I found myself cheering him on. Kent’s love for his parents really brought him out in a different light I wanted him to be happy and to take a chance.

Beth

This girlie has worked her butt off all of her life. She will never stop being a hard worker she inspired my guy Kent to take a chance how can you not love that. I’d love to see more from this world about these characters maybe Kendy gets an HEA. Maybe we get to see Beth with a baby and happy happy happy with Kent. Like I mentioned earlier Beth and I had a rocky start but this girl proved to be totally awesome. She had to make a lot of very difficult life decisions and she always stood up to the challenge.

My Rating

4.0 College, New Job, Taco Joint, Bently, Dance Club, Lunch Dates, Marriage Proposal, Amazing Parents, Beautiful Wedding, New York job, not enough, Bank Heist, California Job, Nana’s locket, Linen Dress, Love filled stars!!! This was a GREAT read I highly recommend it!!

  4. Makes me nervous that it took you a while with Beth. I usually like the guys quickly too but if I don't like the girl too the book falls flat for me. Hmmmmm
