GR's Summary:

It all comes down to this . . . Chloe Lilywhite has struggled for years to find her footing in a series of dangerous and demanding worlds. Creator, first tier Council member, and one of the most powerful Magicals in existence, she was little more than one of Fate’s pawns. But now, Chloe is back home and ready to call the shots. She knows what she wants and who she wants to be. Except the Elders never got the memo. Annar and Magical-kind are under attack. The lives of Chloe’s loved ones, and life as they know it, are at stake. Chloe's the key to taking the Elders down, but they won't go quietly into the night. This time, neither will Chloe.

My Thoughts:

The Fate Series is my favorite New Adult Fantasy Series!  Words cannot possibly express how much this series means to me.  I have been following Chloe, Jonah, and Kellan's story from the very beginning, and this is one series that never got boring, or suffered from the dreaded Sophomore Syndrome.  If anything each and every book strengthened and added to the depth, and authenticity of the characters, as well as the phenomenal quality of the plot.

A Matter of Forever, by Heather Lyons, was a stunning conclusion.  It was beautiful, breathtaking, and bittersweet.  I became very emotional while reading the ending, and found myself crying.  I feel like one of my best friend's has moved far away.  I applaud Ms. Lyons for not taking the easy way out, and staying true to the story, wrapping up all loose ends, and answering all of my questions.

This conclusion focused on the relationships between Chloe, Jonah, and Kellan, as will as the epic battle between the Magicals and Elders.  There were a ton of plot twists and surprises.  Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, and how things were going to end, Ms. Lyons would throw me for another crazy loop!

All of my favorite secondary characters came together in this conclusion.  We had Jonah and Kellan's adopted family, Astrid, and Callie, as well as Chloe's adopted family, Cameron, and Will take center stage.  I loved having all off my favorite characters together in the conclusion, as a cohesive tight knit group.  They all watched out for one another, and became one large surrogate family.

My Rating:

I wish I could say so much more about A Matter of Forever, but I don't want to spoil any of the surprises, and twists that happen in this conclusion.  Suffice to say, this is one of my all time favorite series' and I cannot recommend it enough.  My. Lyons prose are so beautiful and poetic, her characters so real and lifelike, and her storyline's so gripping, addictive and memorable.  I give, A Matter of Forever, by Heather Lyons, 5 Emotional, Unforgettable, Beautiful, and Bittersweet Stars!  The ending will bring tears to your eyes.  You will feel happiness, as well as some sadness, but most of all, you will feel hopeful.

My Favorite Quote:

"Sometimes, it's hard to reconcile the present and a possible future you never expected with the past and all the wishes it held."  (eARC, Loc. 704)

About Heather Lyons:

Heather Lyons has always had a thing for words—She’s been writing stories since she was a kid. In addition to writing, she’s also been an archaeologist and a teacher. Heather is a rabid music fan, as evidenced by her (mostly) music-centric blog, and she’s married to an even larger music snob. They’re happily raising three kids who are mini music fiends who love to read and be read to.
