GR's Summary:

One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him. But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play. When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away.

My Thoughts:

Sweet Filthy Boy is the first book that I've read by co-authors Christina, and Lauren.  This book completely blew me away.  Right when I began the story, I became completely hooked, and immersed in the entertaining plot, and dynamic main characters, Mia and Ansel.  I haven't read a book this erotic, sensual, and delectable in quite a while.  Sweet Filthy Boy has wet my appetite for more of this duo's storytelling skills!

Mia has just graduated from college with her best friends Harlow, and Lola.  She use to be a ballet dancer, until an accident that seriously injured her, and made it so that she would never be able to dance professionally, ended her dream.  Instead, Mia is headed to Boston in the Fall, to begin her Master's in Business, something that she is dreading, but is doing to please her very critical father.  The three girls decide to go to Las Vegas to celebrate their college graduation, and have some fun before the responsibilities of adulthood begin.  While in Las Vegas, Mia spots a gorgeous Frenchman by the name of Ansel, and neither one of them can take their eyes off of the other.  Ansel is in Las Vegas with his two good friends Finn, who is from Canada, and Oliver, who is from Australia.  Mia and Ansel end up pairing off for a night of fun, and wild sex.  Ansel convinces Mia to have a summer adventure in France with him, but surprises come up, and not everything goes according to plan.

I loved the main characters Mia and Ansel.  Mia was shy and an introvert, but she had a fun, flirty side as well.  She loved play acting, and whenever she put herself in a role, she was able to become more confident, sassy, and assertive.  Ansel was the perfect combination of sweet and attentive, as well as adventurous, seductive, and sexy.  Mia and Ansel were great together.  They had an intense sexual chemistry, took turns in taking charge, and were good for one another.  Ansel was a hardworking junior lawyer, and Mia helped him to escape the stress of his job and relax, while he helped to give her more confidence, courage, and encouragement to figure out a new dream, and follow it.

Sweet Filthy Boy was full of fireworks, passion, surprises, and romance.  The story was very sexually explicit, and I would classify it as erotica.  I loved the way things started off fun and carefree between Mia and Ansel, but then developed in to a deep, meaningful, and beautiful love affair.  The setting of France and all of the French phrases added to the romantic ambiance of the story.  I felt like I was in France, and I loved hearing Ansel speak to Mia in French.  I could picture his sparkling eyes, dimple, and sweet and swoon-worthy accent.

My Rating:

I loved Sweet Filthy Boy, by Christina Lauren, and fear that my review will not give this story justice.  I loved it so much!  I give this story 5 Parisian, Serendipitous, Playful, Sweet Filthy Stars!  I can't wait to read Harlow, and Finn's story, Dirty Rowdy Thing, which comes out November 4th.

About Christina Lauren:

Lauren Billings (but everyone calls her Lo) has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and before she made writing her full-time job, would spend her days doing nerdy research-type things wearing a lab coat and goggles. She is silly Mommy to two littles, wife to one mountain biking homebrewing scientist, bestie to a shoe-stealer, and an unabashed lover of YA and romance.

Christina Hobbs (but you’ll always hear Lo call her PQ) used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. Married to the cutest boy in school, she has a thirteen year old daughter, is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter, and also likes to steal Lo’s shoes.

  2. It's so good to hear that despite the story being quite explicit there is still depth to the romance. I hate when the sex scenes take over to the point where no time has been taken to develop the relationship. It sounds like the authors got the balance right between flirty and steamy!
