Lindy's Thoughts:

Finally Mine was a very entertaining story.  I loved the beginning where we are introduced to Vin and Keira.  They met and fell madly in love at their job over the summer.  Vin was sentenced to work there as punishment for "drag racing" in lou of jail time.  Keira comes from wealth.  She grew up in an upper middle class neighborhood, attended private school her whole life, and has never done without.  Vin grew up in a rough neighborhood.  His family has struggled, and his father owes a large debt to Vin's Uncle, a dangerous criminal, who uses the debt to control Vin's whole family.  However, once the summer comes to an end Keira and Vin need to return to their old lives.

Vin plans to keep in touch with Keira long distance, while he gets his life in order, so that he can be a man worthy of her.  However, plans change, when Keira's father is struggling financially, and forced to move.  Keira is forced to change schools, and her and Vin are shocked when they run in to each other the first
day of their senior year.  Keira is elated!  Vin on the other hand is panicking because he's cultivated an image where he doesn't take school seriously, and doesn't do relationships.  There is a lot that Keira doesn't know about Vin, and he tries to convince her to transfer to a better school.  Keira is upset and shocked with how Vin is acting, and then he gives her an ultimatum, if she wants to be with him, she needs to change schools.  Needless to say, Keira digs in her heels and lets Vin know that she's not going anywhere.

I have mixed feelings about Finally Mine.  On the one hand, I enjoyed the beginning of the story, and loved the precious moments when Vin and Keira were together.  On the other hand, I got frustrated with the constant wishy washy back and forth  between Vin and Keira.  Also, Keira came off as being naive.  Even when Vin tried to warn her and let her know the shady criminal activity that he was involved in, she didn't seem concerned, and acted like it didn't matter.

Vin and Keira had a lot of passion together, and I loved the person Vin was when he was with Keira.  She brought out the good in him, and made him strive to be a better person.  The two of them shared a lot of passion, and had a very steamy relationship.

I also enjoyed Keira's good friends Lily, and especially David.  They were both loyal friends, and very fun to get to know.  The ending of the story was great and we get introduced to two more characters, Sunny, and Josh.  I'm looking forward to their story, Finally Yours, which is next in the series, and comes out this year.  I got to read an excerpt of it, and it looks like it's going to be great!

My Rating:

I give, Finally Mine, by Anne Hansen, 3 Dramatic, Passionate, Wild Ride Filled Stars!  This was a fun story, and I'm looking forward to checking out the sequel!

Ro's Take on this Journey:

Finally Mine, by Anne Hansen, is the story of two young kids having a wonderfully passionate filled fling, of a summer romance. It is so touching and emotional, that the reader becomes involved in the story from the very beginning.

Vin Moretti is from a lower class family.  He has got himself into trouble and has plea bargained himself out of jail time, for a summer in a high society country club for the rich.

Keira is a naive, young, rich girl.  She has always gotten whatever she wants, and the best of everything.  The two of them start a summer fling, that turns into a romance to remember. Keira falls hard for Vin and visa versa, but when the summer is over, everything changes.

Keira's mother died and her father is ruined financially. They have to move to a lower socio-economic neighborhood for her senior year, and who does she run into on the first day of school, but Vin. Actually, it seemed more like Vin's representative.  Keira is head over heels, but Vin is not the person she fell in love with.

As time goes by, this melodramatic romance starts to fray at the edges, and the reader feels like they are on a see-saw going back and forth. This book seemed to turn into an exhausting YA romance.  Vin has a lot of secrets about his job, family, and their suspect affiliation with the Mafia.

The bright light in the story for me was David, their friend.  He was wonderful, with a great personality, and had me laughing out loud.  The relationship that develops between him and Lily and the two main characters was great.

I give, Finally Mine, by Anne Hansen, 3 1/2 Summer Fling, New Romance, Second Chance For New Beginning Stars!!!
