My Thoughts:

It's always such a fun adventure reading about MC Clubs, their lifestyle, brotherhood, and the rules they live by.  When I saw Dragon's Lair, I was intrigued.  I love forbidden romance, and this one definitely caught my eye.

In Dragon's Lair, we get Faye's story.  She grew up in a cold family environment, with a mother that was never satisfied, and an apathetic father who let his wife make all of the decisions.  Faye is a "good" girl.  She's a rule follower, and has always been a stellar student.  Growing up next to the Black brothers, she always had a crush on, bad boy older brother Dex.  He has always been good and kind to her.  However, she doesn't see him for several years, when he has a falling out with his family.

Faye gets in to a serious and monogamous relationship with Eric Black, the younger of the two brothers.  In college, they are both practicing law, and are at the top of their class.  Faye has her future all planned out.  She will marry Eric, practice law with him, have children, and live happily ever after.   When Faye discovers Eric having sex with a woman that she thought was her friend, all of her dreams are crushed.  Eric begs her to give him another chance, but she refuses to be with him ever again.  Her life takes are dramatic turn when she runs in to older brother Dex Black at a bar.  The chemistry between them sizzles, and they both give in to delicious temptation.  The one night they are together changes both of their lives forever.

Dragon's Lair was fast-paced, entertaining, and easy-reading.  Faye was a hilarious character who added a lot of fun and laughter to the story.  Dex oozed sex appeal, but I would have liked to see more sex scenes, and detail to them, between him and Faye.  There were few, they were short, and not very detailed.  The story had a lot of cliches, common themes that are done in MC Biker stories, and was for the most part on the surface.  Yet, I read it quickly, was very entertained, and am looking forward to the next book in the series.  One of my favorite aspects of the story was Faye's relationship with the various MC brothers.  She forged a special bond with many of them, and I was excited to get to learn about Arrow, Track, Rake, Jim, Vinnie, and Irish.  I felt like I really got to know the different characters personalities.

My Rating:

I give, Dragons Lair, by Chantel Fernando, 3 Fun, Fast-Paced, Funny, and Entertaining Stars!!!

  1. So really it's a second chance at the one she loved all along. Sounds good.
