Synopsis:

New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery invites you back to Fool's Gold, where a newcomer to town might finally meet the man she never knew she needed…

Angel Whittaker earned his scars the hard way, but the scars that can't be seen are the ones that haunt him the most. Since he moved to Fool's Gold, California, he's cobbled together a life for himself as a bodyguard trainer. If he's not exactly happy, at least his heart is safe.

Working with pro-football superstars taught tough-talking PR woman Taryn Crawford one thing—she can go toe to toe with any man. But then dark, dangerous former Special Ops Angel targets her for seduction…and challenges her to resist his tempting kisses.

Even in four-inch heels, Taryn never backs down. Unless, somehow, Angel can convince her that surrender might feel even better than victory

My Review:

When we Met by Susan Mallery is book #13 in the Fool's Gold Series. I have heard amazing things about her work! It was my first time reading one of her novels and I am so happy that I got the chance to review When we Met. Susan Mallery has quite a few books out and I had no clue where to start!?!?!?! So many books, so little time ... I wanted to dig into a series and get lost in it. When I got the chance to review When we Met I took it as a sign that lucky book #13 was the perfect opportunity to start discovering her amazing talent. I've been reading a lot of NA books lately and I was looking for a different kind of read. When we Met is exactly what I was looking for! I always try to mix-up the genres that I read because there is so many great author and books to discover.

When we Met is the story of Taryn and Angel. Both of these characters have a past that has left emotional scars. Angel had it all, but a tragedy has taken away what was most precious in his life. Taryn has come a long way since she left her childhood home. Her strength and determination got her where she is today. When they meet, their attraction to one another is instant. Their journey starts with rules; no emotional attachment and no commitment. But, the more time they spend together, the more they get under each other's skin. Taryn and Angel will have to learn to let go of the past so that they can give love a chance.

Taryn and Angel's story was passionate, captivating and romantic. It did take me a bit of time to connect with them, but after reading a few chapters I could not get enough of them! Their storyline was well developed and I got to see them grow has a couple. They had steamy, funny and emotional moments. I loved the friendship between Taryn, Kenny, Jack, Sam and Larissa. It made me want to go work for them ;) Angel volunteered is time to the Future Warriors of Màa-zib, which is a group of seven years old girls. They are soooo cute!!! My heart melted for every time he accomplished a task has their Groove Keeper. Angel was an intense characters with a tender heart. This book was filled with many second characters that I want to get to know better. Some of them have already found their HEA while others are still waiting for The One. Characters from the past books intertwine well in Taryn and Angel's story. They are fun and lovable and most of all they are so easy to relate to. It makes me want to read all of their stories.

My Rating:

I give, When we Met, by Susan Mallery 4 beautifully written, romantic, passionate stars! I will definitely be adding the next titles of this series to my TBR list. I can't wait to go back and visit Fool's Gold ;)
