Lindy's Thoughts:

Sweet Little Thing, by Renee Carlino, was the perfect little follow up novella!  I loved this story so much, and can't get enough of Will and Mia's love story.  This novella was told from Will's perspective, and it was such a pleasure being privy to Will's thoughts.  The deep love that these two shared was palpable in every page.  Will adored Mia, and she in turn loved him with all of her heart.

In this installment, Will and Mia are getting married, and while Mia wanted to elope, her parents wanted to be there, so Will gave in.  As Mia is planning her upcoming nuptials, and things are going fairly smoothly at their music studio, life has other plans for them! "The Sweetest Little Thing," has come their way, and life will never be the same again!

Sweet Little Thing was a beautiful story.  It had a colorful cast of characters in Martha, the sweet and wise woman that always had the right advice, Jenny, Mia's sassy best friend, and Tyler, a hilarious jokester, and Will's partner in crime!  I grew very attached to all of these characters, and all that they brought to Will and Mia's lives.

Ladies, Will is as sweet and sexy as ever!  Boy is that man smooth!  His words and actions towards Mia gave me the swoons at times, and goosebumps at other times!  He has such a way with words, music, and expressing his love.  I fell in love with Will Ryan all over again!  I just can't put in to words how sexy, attractive, and amazing his character is.  Also, he had many moments that had me laughing!  I got to see a different side of Will in this sequel, and it made me smile and chuckle a whole lot!

Many times in Romance stories, I don't like the leading ladies as much as the leading men.  This series, is one huge exception to that rule!  I adore Mia!  She's sweet, loving, caring, and she doesn't take any crap!  She knows how to put Will in his place with just one look!  Mia is a very strong, independent, talented, and an entertaining character.

My Rating:

I give, Sweet Little Thing, by Renee Carlino, 5 Romantic, Hilarious, Touching, and "Sweet Little Stars!"  Fans of Sweet Thing will not be disappointed!  If you haven't read Sweet Thing, I highly, highly, recommend it!  This series is absolutely amazing, and one of my favorites!  Don't miss out on this feel good, deeply romantic, one of a kind series!

My Favorite Quote:

"Sometimes we're just along for the ride," she said over my shoulder.  We can't control everything; we can only do our best to control our reactions when life doesn't go our way."  (eARC, Loc. 225)

~Martha

Ro's Take on This Journey:

Sweet Little Thing, by Rene Carlino, is the perfect Novella to follow up, Sweet Thing.  In this sequel, we get the entire story told from Will's perspective.  Let me tell you fans of Ms. Carlinos', that you are in for a surprise.  The heat between Will and Mia sizzles off the pages!  By the time you finish this book, you will laugh, cry, sigh, and need a cold shower!!!  Ms. Carlino has taken up where she left off in Sweet Thing.  Will and Mia are living in their loft in Brooklyn, with their dog, June, who is in the middle of being potty trained.

Will and Mia are running their own music studio, making music, and trying to stay true to their love for the music they create.  At the same time, Will is a man of conviction, and at times, has to deal with underhanded newbie's in the music industry that try to outsmart, and swindle him and Mia out of their creations.  At the same time, they are planning their marriage, and Mia has come out of her shell, and has a few surprises up her sleeve that keep Will panting for more.

The reader gets a lot of interaction from characters in the first novel, Jenny and Tyler, their best friends, who have suffered a miscarriage, and keep trying again. Martha, Pop's friend, who still helps run Kell's pub, (and on the side does natural childbirth and make remedies to help pregnant women,) and Liz, Mia's mom, who can still have step-dad guilt Will into getting what she wants, with the help of the bean spiller, Jenny.  Namely, having a wedding and walk Mia down the aisle, when they already agreed on going off alone to tie the knot.

This was a great cast of characters, and the connection between Will and Mia was better than ever.  They had a knowing intuition about each other, and knew when the other needed them.  A word didn't have to be spoken, or the right words were spoken without a question being needed.  They were crazy about each other, and through their ups and downs, and near catastrophe's, that was one constant.

Ms. Carlino has a way with words, and she has created a natural rhythm, so sweet with this wonderful little novella, and winds it all together with an epilogue that leaves her readers satisfied, and with her superb prose that will fill your heart with joy.  I loved this little story and look forward to Ms. Carlinos' next novel, Nowhere but Here, which can be pre-ordered now.

I give, Sweet Little Thing, by Renee Carlino, 5 Sexy, Light Hearted, Intuitive, Enviable Stars!!!

My Favorite Quotes:

"I was convinced we had live twenty thousand lives, and in each one, we had found each other, like two tiny magnets in a drawer the size of the universe.  She and I fit and moved together with such ease.  I couldn't imagine ever being with anyone else."  (Kindle, Loc. 645)

~Will

"I think people get married because they want to share their lives with someone, because they want someone to experience life with.' 'What does that mean?' I kissed her nose and tucked her into my chest.  'It means the beauty and wonder that I see in you every day colors each page of my life and makes it more vibrant.  You make my experiences more meaningful."  (Kindle, Loc. 1129)

About Renee Carlino:

Renee’s first friends were the imaginary kind and even though her characters haven’t gone away, thankfully the delusions have. She admits she’s a wildly hopeless romantic and she blames 80’s movies staring Molly Ringwald for that. She lives in Southern California with her husband, two sons, and their sweet dog June. When she’s not at the beach with her boys or working on the next book, she likes to spend her time reading, going to concerts, and eating dark chocolate.

  1. The Sweet Thing series seems really good, Lindy! And I really enjoy reading about a couple falling in love, and getting together with all that happens when first falling in love. I enjoy even more to read about a couple that stays together, and it seems that is truly the case for Will and Mia.
Of course, since both you and Ro practically twisted my arm, I've added the series to my TBR ;)

    Happy reading, ladies!
