Gr’s Summary

He wasn't supposed to remember.

Callie is a royal vampire. She hunts by taking the blood from her victims and erases their memories afterwards.  She goes undetected until a victim named Chase approaches her with all his memories intact.  He is intrigued and attracted.  She is terrified. What happens when a human mixes with the immortal world?  Chaos.

Callie’s 18th birthday has passed and she is coming out at the annual blood ball.  Will she find a mate or will she suffer the repercussions of her indiscretion?  She is brought to the Vampire council and they must decide what to do with Chase.  Do they kill him, or turn him to protect their secret?

The Way I See It

I devoured Devour!  This was a fun light and highly entertaining read!  I’ve always been a huge fan of Vampires, so I like to immerse myself in their stories, and the way each author represents “their” Vamps.  Ms. Heltsley does an amazing job with the characters in Devour, I enjoyed them greatly.  It's my sincere hope that Ms. Heltsley continues to write about these wonderful characters.  I’d like to know more about Alexander and “Training” and Chase and Jane...Lana.  I want to know more, because I want more books of Devour, to devour ;)

D-eath does not happen easily, when laws are broken the non-involved are safe.  Will Callie avoid such a horrendous punishment?

E-verlasting, an unknown connection sparks an unbreakable bond, that will join these two for the rest of their days.

V-engeance, scorned she will seek out her target and exact whatever punishment she can obtain.

O-pportunity, for a different life, a second chance is given, while a brutal punishment is carried out.

U-nion, final and complete.   The sacred ritual will unite and bind these two forever.

R-eign, there is a new order just in the horizon, is this it? Will it come easy?  Are there any lurking obstacles?..

I loved a lot of different things that Ms. Heltsley incorporated into this story.  The banter the two  participated in was really fun.  Jane and Callie had an amazing friendship that jumps out of the pages.  They remind me of my best friend and I... I may have used the words “hunt” and “dibs” on our many girls night out, making our way to the dance floor. ;)  If you are looking for a sweet and light love story that will sweep you into the paranormal world, I recommend this one for you!

My Fav’s

Callie
Beautiful and Royalty, but she seems so real, an easy going fun person, she was a roller coaster of emotions, but when you have to go through what she did it's understandable.  The chemistry she shares with Cody is off the Charts!   As I was reading, I was falling in love with him!  These two are perfect!

Cody
Sent at the perfect moment... It's like fate knew Callie needed him the most...and he came!!  Eeeep SAH-WOON!!  Oh, did I mention he’s delish?  He says all of the right things, and has a deep love for her that goes back years?

I love these two!

Together they’re off the charts!!!

My Rating

4.0 Violet halo, Amber halo, Blood Ball, First Dance, Stolen Kiss, Dhampir, True Mates, Castle, Everlasting Love filled stars!!  If you like paranormal, and are in a mood for a fun light read, you will devour, Devour!!! :)

About the Author

I’m a biologist turned writer.  I write YA/NA paranormal

romance books mainly.  I’m the author of Devour and have several more books scheduled to come out later in 2013.  I book blog for fun.  I also have a strong addiction to caffeine and fruit snacks. You can find me in Tennessee with my husband and two Italian greyhounds.  If you ask anyone, I’m a total fangirl!  I love the entertainment industry.  I love Revenge and the Vampire Diaries on television.  My favorite movies are Elektra and P.S. I Love You.  I have a definite weakness for Tim Burton movies too.  I’m beyond a huge fangirl for Shakira, both her English and Spanish music; Jack’s Mannequin comes in a close second.  I have too many favorite authors to list, but Kelley Armstrong and Rachel Vincent are two of them. I’ve read all their books.
