Wrecked by Alyssa Rose Ivy is the third story in the Clayton Falls Series.  This story focuses on Ben's younger brother Jake and the beautiful Emily.  It begins with Jake drinking and driving, and ending up in a pretty series car accident.  While in induced coma and on a ventilator, his young, and beautiful nurse Emily, goes above and beyond taking care of him.  She can't help but be fascinated by this young guy, and be curious about him.  She can tell that he has classic good looks, even with all the bruising, and multiple injuries that he has sustained.  At times, she finds herself holding his hand, and just staring at him, and thinks she can even feel him lightly squeeze her hand.  When Jake wakes up he is confused about where he is and what has happened.  However, the first thing he sees is Emily's beautiful green eyes looking at him, and he thinks she looks like a beautiful angel.  From this point on he is convinced that there is something very special about Emily, and he is determined to get her to go out on a date with him.  Emily, ends up saying "yes," and from this point on they begin a whirlwind romance.  However, Emily has a few secrets, and Jake has his own personal problems to contend with, which leads the young couple to have some major bumps in the road, and the questions become, "Can they make their relationship work," and "Is their relationship worth what they have to go through to make it last?"

I really enjoyed reading Wrecked.  It was such a sweet, and fast-paced love story.  I enjoyed the setting of Clayton Falls immensely.  It was a small little quaint town full of personality.  Everyone in town knew each other, and their lives intersected in one way or another.  I also enjoyed the closeness of Jake and Emily's friends, and family.  Jake's mother Mary was very supportive of her son, and loved Emily.  Emily's best friend Mel was an amazing person, who really did everything she could to help Emily.  I also enjoyed reconnecting with Molly, Ben, Ben's parents, Becca, Gavin, and other minor characters, even if just briefly.  It was like revisiting old friends.  I love how this series is formatted with each story focusing on a new couple, but still bringing in the other couples from the previous books.  It's nice to see the other character's we fell in love with's story continue, and seeing what is going on in their lives as time moves forward.

Jake made great character growth in his story.  He realized that he had certain life issues he needed to deal with, and that he needed to mature, and grow-up if he wanted to be with Emily.  He did this on his own, as he was inspired to be the best person for Emily, because he knew that she was special, and deserved the best.  Jake was so sweet, and tender with Emily.  I loved how he treated her, and how he supported her, and became her "rock."  Emily was such an amazing, and likable character.  She was strong, independent, responsible, caring, compassionate, and down to earth.  She was the type of person that I could image being friends with.  Jake and Emily made an adorable couple, and I found myself smiling, swooning over the way Jake treated Emily, and going "Awww," quite a few times throughout the story.

I have enjoyed getting to read part of the Clayton Fall series, and thus far, Wrecked, has been my favorite in the series!  I recommend this book, and found it to be a relaxing, refreshing, and beautifully sweet, fast-paced love story.  I cannot wait to continue the Clayton Falls series, and am so excited to have discovered an amazing new author such as, Alyssa Rose Ivy.  I enjoy her writing style, the authentic and realistic nature of her stories, the way she write's conversations between characters, and how real the character's are themselves.  She write's the perfect amount of detail, enough that I am able to visualize the setting, character's physical appearances, and personalities, but not too much detail where the story gets weighed down, boring, and too slow-paced.  For the readers out there like myself that enjoy contemporary romances, but sometimes need a break from stories filled with a lot of angst, and drama, Wrecked is a refreshing change of pace, and an excellent choice for a bookish escape!

I give Wrecked by Alyssa Rose Ivy a Sweet, Small Town, Transformative, New Beginning 4.5 Stars!  If you enjoy New Adult Contemporary Romances, you will enjoy this really sweet love story!  If you're in the mood to escape in to a fast-paced read that includes the sweet personality of a small town, close-knit family, and friends, as well as two broken individuals coming together, and healing one another, this is the story for you!  This is also a great choice for those of you that dislike love-triangles, cliff-hangers, and high-drama romance stories!  I look forward to continuing this series, and hope the next book is about Mel, and Cole (hint, hint, nudge, nudge, Alyssa ;)

"Beautiful.  That's the only way I can describe the angel leaning over me.  Everything was hazy except for her face.  She had pretty green eyes that watched me intently."  (EARC, 13)

"Good.  You're like that really good surprise gift.  It's not the one you expect, or the one you  asked for-but it's all the better because of that."  (EARC, 91)

"I've never been with a girl I couldn't get enough of.  You make my heart race, you make me feel out of control, and I love every second of it."  (EARC, 105)

"We're both broken people looking for a safe place to land.  Maybe this time we've actually found solid ground."  (EARC, 116)

"Sometimes doing the right thing means doing what some people might consider wrong."  (EARC, 154)

Alyssa Rose Ivy is a Young Adult and New Adult author who loves to weave stories with romance and a southern setting. Although raised in the New York area, she fell in love with the South after moving to New Orleans for college. After years as a perpetual student, she turned back to her creative side and decided to write. She lives in North Carolina with her husband and two young children, and she can usually be found with a cup of coffee in her hand.

Alyssa Rose Ivy's:

Five Items I Can’t Live Without:

  1. Coffee. I love it, and I’m addicted. My husband bought me a Keurig for the Holidays, and it’s only made things worse. My latest favorite flavor to drink when writing is Coconut Mocha.  My addiction has gotten so bad that my 4-year-old will say “Mommy, you need coffee,” if I’m in a bad mood.
  2. Music. I can’t write without it. Yes, I can physically put words on the paper, but if I’m really going to get into the writing mode, I need some good tunes. I make separate playlists for each book, and I start the lists months before I even sit down to write. I can usually predict how difficult a book will be to write by how substantial of a playlist I’ve been able to build. Want an early hint about my upcoming writing projects? Follow me on Spotify. The type of music on a list usually says a lot about the feel of the book.
  3. My phone. I admit it: I hate being separated from the thing. For better or worse, I love being connected. I’m a mom of young children, so chances are if you see me on social media during the day it’s because I’ve found a few minutes to play on my phone. I’ve been known to sit in the driveway and catch up on email and twitter while the kids nap in the back.
  4. My Kindle, or a book. I love reading. One of my favorite things in the world is to settle down with a good book and either a cup of coffee (see number one above) or a glass of wine. I try to never leave the house without my kindle, because you never know when you’ll find five minutes to dive back into a book.
  5. A sweatshirt or sweater. I get cold a lot. It’s even worse in the summer when the AC is on everywhere. I’m that weird person who drags a sweatshirt with her in 90 degree weather on the off chance that I’ll need it. I blame the habit on growing up on Long Island.  You always wanted to be prepared when you went out at night.
