Waiting on Wednesday (2)

Hosted by: Breaking the Spine

Hector (5th Street #3) by Elizabeth Reyes

Summary:

Womanizer—check.
Arrogant—check.
Dangerous—checkmate.
Staying away from him was indisputably the sensible thing to do. The problem? She wasn’t just drawn to him; she was utterly mesmerized...

Charlotte Brennan aka Charlee is no stranger to heartache and mortification. Her past is full of both. So when the newest member of her college chess team, amazing and incredibly intense Hector Ayala, literally jumps into Charlee’s life, her walls are immediately up. Letting her guard down and sharing her past and deepest secret is not happening.  Charlee is not looking to get her heart crushed once again. However, her willpower proves to be no match for Hector’s mesmerizing pull.

Guilt is a profound emotion to deal with. No one knows this better than Hector. So when he gets the chance to make up for a past indiscretion that’s been gnawing away at him for months, he takes it. Only doing so means he’ll also have to make the ultimate sacrifice and pass up pursuing Charlee, the only girl he’d ever been so fascinated by. Unable to explain why they could never be has him dealing with a new kind of guilt. The guilt of knowing he is unwillingly breaking her heart.  Coming soon!

Why I Can't Wait to Read Hector:

Oh Wow, I need this book!  Right Now!!!  I read Noah (5th Street Series #1), and Gio (5th Street #2) by Elizabeth Reyes, and let me tell you ladies, Ms. Reyes has a real talent for writing about gorgeous guys that drip sex appeal.  These men are swoon worthy and they know it.  They are all professional boxers that have women fantasizing about them.  Everywhere they go the ladies throw themselves at the 5th street boxers, and it makes such a good story when we get to see these men find that one woman that makes them passionate, protective, loving, loyal, and a one woman kind of man! Personally, I cannot wait to see Hector, the ultimate player fall hard!!!

Teaser #4:

Hector turned back to Abel again. His brother had his usual imposing expression going. The one he always wore when he was on to Hector. “Nothing,” Hector tapped Abel on the arm. “I gotta get back to my friends.”

He started to take a step away when Abel caught his arm. The music was so loud Abel had to lean in. “No trouble right?”

Hector pinched his brows. “No,” Then he smirked. “Did you see me in the ring today? No one’s starting trouble with this guy.”

Abel didn’t even flinch nor return the smile. “I’m not worried about anyone starting trouble with you.  You’re the one I’m worried about.”

    1. That's awesome Inx. I hear that it takes real intelligence to play Chess. I myself don't know how to play, but I'd love to learn. The Teasers for Hector are amazing and my favorite is Teaser #2. I cannot wait to get my hands on this book! Thanks for the nomination for the Liebster award, but we already participated in that post. It's an honor that you would think of us though :)

  6. Yes, you can read it as a standalone. Each story in the series is about different people, Reyes just incorporates all the friends in every book in the series, and then focuses on one of the guys, and the girl he falls in love in each book. Plus her books are really reasonably priced. Aman, I loved your WOW :)

    1. Aylee, this series wasn't my typical read either. However I started her series called The Moreno Brothers, loved it, and read the whole series including Fate in a week. I LOVED this author so much that I decided to give her 5th Street Series a shot, and I'm happy that I did!
