Paisley Morro has been in love with Eli since they were thirteen-years-old. But after twelve years of only being his best friend and wingman, the heartache that comes from watching him with countless other women becomes too much, and Paisley decides its time to lay all her feelings on the table.

Eli Jenkins has a life most guys would kill for: Dream job, countless women, and his best friend, Paisley, to be the girl he can always count on for everything else. But one conversation not only changes everything between them, it threatens to make him lose the only girl who has ever meant anything to him.

When tragedy strikes his family and Eli is forced to reevaluate his life, he realizes a life without Paisley isn’t a life at all. Only now, he may be too late.

My Thoughts:

Molly McAdams is one of the best when it comes to writing New Adult Romance.  I have really enjoyed her Forgiving Lies Series, so when I saw that there was a new novella added to the series, I was really excited!

In Changing Everything, we get Eli Jenkins (who is Rachel's adoptive brother from the first two books,) and his best friend Paisley's story.  Eli and Paisley have been inseparable since they were thirteen years old.  Eli isn't ready for a relationship, so he jumps from woman to woman, using Paisley as his wingman.  In the process, Paisley is being hurt because she has been madly in love with Eli for the last 12 years.  Everyone knows about Paisley's feelings for Eli, except Eli himself.  When Paisley meets a new man and realizes that she can see a future with him, she confesses her feelings to Eli, hoping that he might feel the same way about her.  Eli is completely shocked by this news.  By the time he realizes what he wants, he may just be too late...

Changing Everything was a very short, sweet, and quick read.  I enjoyed reading about Eli and Paisley's story.  I love the friends to lovers trope, and Ms. McAdams did a great job with this novella!  Eli was very loving, attentive, and tender with Paisley.  They had such a wonderful friendship.  I was desperate for Eli to open his eyes, and see Paisley in a new light.  When he did, I was ecstatic!!!  I enjoyed reading about Eli and Paisley's best friends Jason and Kristen as well.  We get a little glimpse with Rachel and Kash in the story, and may I say I LOVE Kash?!!!  Ms. McAdams did an excellent job of developing the main characters for writing a novella.  I really felt like I knew Eli and Paisley, and their connection was palpable.

My Rating:

I give, Changing Everything, by Molly McAdams, 4 Sweet Agony, Friendship Filled, Passionate and Loving Stars!  Fans of the Forgiving Lies Series will be very happy with this feel good novella!!!

Book Teasers:

Book Excerpt:

Oh the joys of watching the man you love get ready to take another woman home … especially when she’s one bad dye job away from being an Oompa-Loompa.

Here’s a little snippet from CHANGING EVERYTHING for y’all! Enjoy!

     “Pay!”
“Oh no,” I breathed, and looked at Kristen to act like I hadn’t heard Eli. “If he makes me play pool with him while he makes out with another girl again, I will lose it!”
“He’s smiling, at least he didn’t see you moping—and he’s walking over here. With her. Right now. He’s—”
“Pay, we’re gonna head out, were you ready to leave?”
I turned to look at them with a smile plastered on my face, but it was entirely possible I looked like I was grimacing. “Well … ” I began, but the girl in Eli’s arms held up her hand.
She made a sickened face as her head jerked up to look at Eli, then back at me. Long seconds passed as she looked me up and down with her lips parted in disgust. “Um … ew! I’m, like, not really into that whole threesome thing. So gross. Yano?”
I wanted to remind her that “you” and “know” were two separate words … but with the way she looked, I was surprised she knew that Eli plus her plus me equaled three and not the color burrito, so I kept that to myself.
Eli’s face pinched together like he’d eaten something sour, and before he said something that would inevitably crush me even more tonight, I tried to speak his latest pick’s language.
     “Ohmigod, like, ew, right?”
Kristen’s hand flew to her mouth as beer sprayed out, and Eli’s lack-of-amused expression let me know that he knew what I was doing.
At least I didn’t feel like I was going to throw up anymore.
“Threesomes are so way gross,” I continued, not like I’d know. But the girl nodded her head and pursed her lips.
“So, like, is she gonna watch?” she asked, and it took everything in me not to shoot Eli a look that said: Really? This is what you want?

About Molly McAdams:

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry four-legged daughters. When she's not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and fried pickles, and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm ... or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

Important News:

Molly’s next book will be Trusting Liam: A Taking Chances and Forgiving Lies Novel, available on June 9th, 2015!

  1. Yes. On valentine's day this year, there were an activity at the office where you'll have 3 cards you can give out. For every card you get or have, you get a cookie at the end of the day. When I got to the office on the V-day, there was a card in between my close laptop with just an initial letter B on it.

  3. The only time I was a secret admirer I was trying to play a prank on someone. It was quite successful.

I did find out that someone I'd once had a crush on had used me as spank bank material, which both surprised me and flattered me. I didn't even know I was on his radar! I think that can count as having a secret admirer, right?

I also have a close friend whose read these books and she absolutely loves them. I'm going to have to check out and see for myself!
