GR's Summary:

From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes another dark, sexy story…

Is she brave enough to give her heart to a man she only thought she knew?

He was the most charismatic man I’d ever met. Strong, tough, brave. Bold as hell. Something told me Tag Barton could have anything—anyone—he wanted...and he wanted me. It didn’t matter that he was wrong for me in practically every way possible. It didn’t matter that my father would hate it.

I couldn’t resist him. Even if I’d known who he really was and what he was really capable of.

When he suggested we pretend to be engaged, I thought he was the answer to all my problems. He wasn’t. And, in his wake, he left nothing but scorched earth and me, just another casualty of my father’s war.

Can I believe him now when he tells me he loves me? Or is he nothing more than a beautiful, breathtaking lie?

My Thoughts:

The Tall, Dark, and Dangerous Series has some of the sexiest men that I have had the pleasure of reading about.  M. Leighton's stories always deliver.  I have never read a book of hers that I didn't like; and for that reason, she is one of the few authors on my auto-read list.  I don't even have to read the synopsis to know that I will enjoy a book that she has written.

Brave Enough was very different from the first two books in the Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series.  For one thing, the first two books should be read in order, whereas the third book can be read as a standalone.  Also, the first two books are packed with suspense, action, and conspiracy, while the third book deals more with drama, secrets, and deceit.

In Brave Enough, we finally get the sexy and gorgeous Tag Barton's story.  He was a minor character in the first two books, and I have been dying to read his story.  Tag is working at the Chiara Vineyard, when he meets the wealthy heiress, Weatherly O'Neal.  He is immediately taken with her, and the two are off to a hot and heavy start.

An instant and powerful lust knocks Weatherly on her feet when she catches her first glimpse of Tag.  She has retreated to Chiara to temporarily escape her domineering parents.   They want her to marry a man that she doesn't love, in order to expand her father's business; and are holding her trust fund over her head as the key bargaining chip.

Weatherly doesn't care about the money for herself.  However, she has a children's charity that she is passionate about, and devotes all that she has to it.  Weatherly had plans to give her charity a bulk of her trust when she came of age.  Now, she must figure out a plan of action, so that she doesn't get stuck in an unwanted marriage, or sacrifice needy kids for her own happiness.

Tag comes up with a plan to act as Weatherly's fake fiancee in order to save her from the dreaded arranged marriage. They plan to have a carefree and wild fling, but what happens when real feelings begin to develop between them.  To top it off, Tag is keeping secrets from Weatherly that could cost him the woman of his dreams...

Brave Enough was fast-paced, sexy, creative, adventurous, exciting, and 100% entertaining.  It hooked me immediately.  This story was also the perfect length.  I hate it when stories are too long and drag, or are too short and underdeveloped.  M. Leighton got it just right!  I was happy to get a cameo from my favorite couple in the series, Rogan and Katie, as well as get quite a few scenes with just Rogan.  I also enjoyed seeing the strong mother-son bond between Tag and his mom Stella.

I loved both Tag and Weatherly!  Tag was so passionate, loyal, loving, and exciting.  Yes, some of his actions
made me very upset with his character.  However, he eventually won me over, and I forgave him.  Weatherly was genuine, sweet, caring, and conservative.  I loved how Tag brought out a more uninhibited, fun, adventurous and exciting side in her.  These two characters together, complimented one another perfectly!  Their passion was intense, raw, and potent.

My Rating:

I give Brave Enough, by M. Leighton 4 Breathless Passion, Deceitful Omissions, Falling in Love, Life Forever Changed Filled Stars!  Read this series if you're looking for wild, hot, passionate romance, and a page-turner from beginning to end!
