The pull between Ian and I has never been stronger, but he can't help me this time. I have to rely on Theron, a bad-tempered cousin I didn't know I had. To make matters worse, the people I trust have been keeping secrets. I'm starting to feel like a weapon in a war I don't understand. How far am I willing to go to protect the descendants of Atlantis and the common good when I'm not sure what the common good is anymore? Only one thing is certain. Atlantis Rising Series: My Review of Atlantis Rising Here
The story of Atlantis has always fascinated me. When I read Atlantis Quest, I was thrust in to a new and fascinating world where the "Dewing" existed, or the children of Atlantis. I have traveled this dangerous journey full of suspense, the unveiling of mysterious information, romance, and new responsibilities, right alongside the main character, Alison.
In Atlantis Quest, the sequel picks right up where Atlantis Rising left off. Make sure you read this series in sequential order. I enjoyed book two even more than the first book in the series. Alison is put up to a very dangerous task, that will benefit the greater good of her people, shall she succeed. Along the way, her feelings for Ian grow stronger, and it becomes harder to resist the pull she feels towards the one she loves. She makes new friends, Theron and Phoebe, who are both extremely likable characters, and I have high hopes that I will see more of them in the following book.
Atlantis Quest was filled with magic, mystery, danger, and awakening. Alison grew as a character, as she became more confident in her role as a dewing, and developed leadership qualities, along with a stronger voice. The romance isn't a large part of the story, but it adds a little something special in to the mix.
The Atlantis Rising Series is one that I would recommend for kids in middle should, as well as teenagers, and adults that are "young at heart." It doesn't have any mature content whatsoever, and is a safe and fun read that parents can give to their children.
I give, Atlantis Quest, by Gloria Craw, 4 Exciting Adventure, Magical, Mysterious, Fun, and Suspense Filled Stars! What a wonderful and refreshing read.
I stopped talking because Ian had stepped in front of me and slid his hand behind my neck. I knew what he was going to do. I also knew I should turn away, but I didn’t. I let him move closer, I didn’t look away when his eyes lingered on my lips, and I didn’t tell him to stop when his lips touched mine. Instead, I moved even nearer until there was no space between us. I reached up and ran my fingers through the golden-blond hair that curled up at his shirt collar.
Gloria Craw grew up in the desert southwest, inspired every day by the wide skies and rich colors around her. She attended the University of Utah where she earned a degree in anthropology. These days, she lives in the ‘burbs’ just outside of Seattle, Washington, where she is the shepherd of a husband, four daughters, and a very hairy dog.
