GR's Summary:

There are bad boys and then there are the men of Devil’s Rock . . .

Some men come with a built-in warning label. Knox Callaghan is one of them. Danger radiates from every lean, muscled inch of him, and his deep blue eyes seem to see right through to Briar Davis’s most secret fantasies. But there’s one major problem: Briar is a nurse volunteering at the local prison, and Knox is an inmate who should be off-limits in every way.

Knox feels it too—a shocking animal magnetism that drives him to risk his own life to protect Briar’s. Paroled at last, he tries to resist her. She’s too innocent, too sweet, and she has no idea what Knox is capable of. But a single touch can lead to a kiss—and a taste . . . until the only crime is denying what feels so right . . .

My Thoughts:

I am not a fan of the prison-romance genre.  However, I am a huge fan of author Sophie Jordan.  I have read many of her books, and loved every single one.  I am so glad that I gave, All Chained Up, a chance.  It is the best prison-romance that I have read, and I highly recommend it!

Knox Callaghan and his younger brother North, are serving a minimum of seven to eight years each at the maximum security prison, Devil's Rock Penitentiary, located in The Texas Badlands.  They are serving time due to a manslaughter conviction, in which they murdered their cousin Katie's rapist.

The rules in prison consist of a "survival of the fittest" mentality.  Knox and North watch each other's backs and have joined up with lifetime prisoner Reid Allistar's gang; in order to try to survive their time.  Knox doesn't need any distractions in his life, because he has to focus on the safety of himself and North, until they get released from prison, which could happen any time now....

Briar Davis is a hardworking nurse, who is hoping to get a promotion.  Therefore, when her boss, Dr. Walker, asks for a volunteer to work with him at the Devil's Rock Penitentiary, she offers her services.  When Briar begins working at the Health Services Unit, she is in for a case of culture shock, attending to hardened criminals.  However, when she meets Knox, she finds herself drawn to and fascinated by him, as he is to her.  Can two very different individuals from different worlds, with the odds against them, find a lasting love together?

All Chained Up should offer a warning that says full steam ahead, you may need a fan, and a cold shower close by while reading this book!  This story was such a page turner.  Readers are in for raw, hungry, and feral passion where Knox and Briar are concerned.  The need they felt for one another grew from the beginning til the end of the story, and every moment they shared was visceral, primal, and carnal.

These two had a consuming passion for one another, and I was attracted to Knox's protective, loyal, and humble ways.  He didn't think that he was good enough for Briar, and my heart hurt for him.  By trying to do what he considered the "right thing," and staying away from her; he just ended up driving them both crazy.

The next story in the series is going to be about gang-leader Reid, and I'm hoping that we get North's story after Reid's!  I have added this whole series to my wish list, and know that I will be in for an amazing reading escape!

My Rating:

I give, All Chained Up, by Sophie Jordan, 4 All-Consuming Desires, Desperate Need, Blossoming Hope, Beautiful Love, and New Beginning Filled Stars!
