Synopsis:

It’s hard living on the wrong side of the tracks.

Lowen Seely has a criminal record to prove it. Determined not to follow in his father’s footsteps, he fights instinct and tries honesty. But hunger becomes painful, and bills are due. Forced to choose between what is right and wrong, the boy from the hood learns abiding by the rules is nearly impossible when corruption is in your blood.

Falling for an outlaw has changed everything.

Poesy Ashby is the definition of ride or die, even when it means turning her back on freedom. The girl from the suburbs gives conformity the middle finger. Bonnie and Clyde have nothing on her love story.

On the run with consequences in the rearview mirror, Lowen and Poesy accept the truth: they are the bad guys.

But can they get away with their crimes?

Review:

From the first moment that I saw the cover and read the blurb of Low, by Mary Elizabeth, I was intrigued. I usually only pre-order books from authors that I am familiar with. It was my first time reading a book by Mary Elizabeth, but the amazing reviews that were flying left and right all over social media gave me that extra push to pre-order it. I don't regret it one bit! It was such a captivating, fast-paced, and intense reading journey. I have no idea what the other books from this authors are like, but I can't wait to find out!

Two lovers turned criminals.

One roller coaster ride of emotions that will keep you at the edge of your seat.

One wrong decision sends Lowen Seely to jail. He leaves behind his mom, sister, but also his girl. Poesy Ashby. The girl who owns his heart. Days turn into weeks and weeks into months. Once he is free to go, the first person who welcomes him into his new journey is Poesy. As days go by, they try to start a new life together, but finding work with a criminal record is not easy. Whatever they have is not enough to buy food and pay the bills. Low and Poesy embark on a journey that will give them an unstoppable adrenaline rush. Are they ready to walk on the bad side and accept everything that comes with it?

Low and Poesy are quite unique and memorable characters. They have such a strong bond from the very beginning of the story. You can feel that their love is intense, passionate and all-consuming. Low has not always made the best decisions in life, but when it comes to protecting his precious Poesy he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

I felt like I was a part of their journey. My heart was beating fast when they were on the run and I was cheering for them from beginning to end. It was interesting to see how they planned everything out. I always had my fingers crossed for them that everything would turn out fine, but even if everything was calculated wisely the danger of being caught was never too far. Bank robbery was never in their plans until desperate times call for desperate measures.

I really enjoyed my reading escape and I was happy with how everything turned out. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a different kind of love story that will deliver all kinds of different emotions.

Rating:

I give, Low, by Mary Elizabeth, 4 fast-paced, gripping, page-turning, captivating stars!

About the Author:
Mary Elizabeth is an up and coming author who finds words in chaos, writing stories about the skeletons hanging in your closets.

Known as The Realist, Mary was born and raised in Southern California. She is a wife, mother of four beautiful children, and dog tamer to one enthusiastic Pit Bull and a prissy Chihuahua. She's a hairstylist by day but contemporary fiction, new adult author by night.

Mary can often be found finger twirling her hair and chewing on a stick of licorice while writing and rewriting a sentence over and over until it's perfect. She discovered her talent for tale-telling accidentally, but literature is in her chokehold. And she's not letting go until every story is told.
