GoodReads Summary
“There would be no happy ending for us. He was too damaged. I was too broken.”

Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.

The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.

Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”

Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “the Hammer.”

Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.

Lorrie knows that Hunter is the exact type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.

As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?

WRECKED
RESCUED (WRECKED BOOK TWO: Coming Early 2014)

The Way Ria Sees It
Wrecked was… WAIT! Before I get into “all that” let me state I love Ms West. I fell in love with her writing when I was introduced to the Surrender series. When I saw she wrote another book I was thrilled to get my hands on it. NOW I’ll get “back to it” Wrecked was awesome!! I was pleasantly surprised to see the book length it’s much longer than the rest of her books and I was pumped! We get loads and loads of details regarding Lorrie, her state of mind and her feelings about everything and everyone around her. There are also several side characters that play a major role in the plot development. Hunter our main man is a bit more elusive since the story is not written in his POV we don’t find out what is “really” going on with him until much later. Ms. West’s writing was thorough and engaging. The setting is NA at a college, and we know that is all “the rage” right now. The typical thought process is, oh boy damaged girl meet damaged guy who happens to be an MMA fighter here we go again. BUT! Even though yes that is the “case” this story is GOOD there are lots of ups and downs and some pretty shocking things happen. This is one I recommend if you enjoy reading New Adult that has all of “said genres” building blocks.

W-
ords, from her father Lorrie has a constant reminder that she needs to be strong. The last thing she wants to is give up but it seems as though that would be the easiest solution.
R-
escue, a chance encounter leaves Lorrie shaken. This stranger with the piercing eyes and chiseled chest throws Lorrie into a whirlpool of emotions. After not feeling the sudden rush shakes her to the core.
E-
ncounter, unexpected and a bit perplexing Hunter crosses paths with Lorrie. The unexplainable attraction is there and Hunter will fight for her company.
C-
hance, life is full of questionable questions Lorrie decides to jump with both feet.
K-
nock, fate rears its ugly face putting barriers between Lorrie and Hunter. Too tired of fighting Lorrie loses focus and possibly makes the biggest mistake of her life.
E-
scape, from pain and constant ridicule Lorrie says F U to all of it. This maybe the toughest decision of her life but she has to take care of herself.
D-
etermined, he has felt her love there is nothing that will get in the way of Hunter now.

If there were a list of NA must haves Wrecked would meet every single one. I am drawn into to the story by Lorrie right away. She is relatable and very likable for someone in her shoes, she manages to present an aura of “okay”. Hunter is a great male lead he is strong and tender. Life has been very hard for him and just when he starts to better himself it throws another wrench at him. Daniella and Gary are two side characters that were instrumental in this story I am looking forward to following this series and what is next for Lorrie and Hunter.

My Rating
4.0 Note, Cat Rescue, PeePee Dive, Baby Kittens, Movie Night, Study Date, Missed Text, Medical Center, Delayed Bus, Broken Face, Unexpected Visit, Powerful Love filled Stars!! For an interesting N/A read I recommend Wrecked! Give it a Shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mikki's Review

This was my first time reading a Priscilla West book. I have heard amazing things about her writing and I was excited to have the opportunity to review Wrecked. I'm extremely happy I got to read Lorrie and Hunter's story. Their story is gut-wrenching and emotional.

Lorrie has been going through a lot. She lives her life in a state of numbness. After losing both her parents, she decides to pick up the shattered pieces of her heart and start over by going back to campus. On her road to become ''normal'' again she meets, Hunter ''The Hammer'', a MMA fighter that saves her from the moment they meet. As days go by they develop feelings for each other, but Lorrie does not want to give in to these feelings. They agree to  become friends. The more time they spend together, the more the attraction between them is undeniable. Both of them embark on a journey together. On this journey they will discover many things about the way they see life. There is a long road ahead of them including many painful and heartbreaking secrets.

I've read a lot of NA books. Many of them have similar background stories. Even if there are many NA books in the market, it's nice to see that every single one of them is unique in it's own way. I really enjoyed this book. I found the connection that I look for with the characters, the writing style was easy to read and the storyline had a twist that I never expected. I could basically predict what Lorrie was going through, but Hunter ... OMG! I was absolutely speechless when I found out his secret. That one was a total shock! Lorrie and Hunter are really sweet together. They started out with a friendship and it turned into love. I love this kind of love story <3 These two have such a heartbreaking story. This book ends in a cliffhanger. I must admit that my heart was broken. Reading from Hunter's POV in the last chapters left me in an emotional mess. Rescued is the second book in the Wrecked series. I can't wait to read the conclusion to Lorrie and Hunter's love story. These two deserve their HEA <3

My Rating

I give Wrecked by Priscilla West, 4 poignant, gut-wrenching, page-turning stars! I look forward to reading the sequel Rescued and following the rest of the students of Arrowhart college.
