Synopsis:

Sometimes revenge is the only choice

Julia worked for weeks planning the perfect surprise birthday party for her boyfriend, Liam, but that night, she was the one who got the biggest shock. He broke up with her in front of all their friends, humiliating her in the process.

Clearly revenge was in order.

The plan is simple. Make him jealous, win him back, and then crush his heart. Fair is fair. However, there is one little hiccup, and he has curly brown hair and dimples.

Jesse is everything she wants. With him, she could almost forget her bruised heart. Almost. Julia has one choice: let Liam walk away after everything he did, or lose a chance at love in pursuit of payback.

My Review:

Best Served Cold by Tawdra Kandle was a quick enjoyable read. This book has a winning combo with lovable characters and a page-turning storyline. It was easy to get pulled in by this story.

What does a girl do when she gets her heart broken? She plots REVENGE! Julia got dumped in front of all her friends and she never saw it coming. A few weeks after the events, she can't let go of what Liam did to her. One thing she knows for sure, she won't let him get away with it. With the help of her best friend Ava and an unexpected ally, she sets her revenge plan into motion. What she never expected was to meet Jesse. Her heart starts to beat again once Jesse enters her life. Revenge is still in her plans, but starting this journey with Jesse by her side might just make her forget about it.

I liked that Julia wrote about what happened to her. With that page dedicated to her story and the ones of others that suffered the same thing, she realized that there are two sides to every story and that revenge might not be what is best at the end of the day. I think she learned a great deal from her project. Jesse and his irresistible dimples stole the spotlight for me! He was sweet and sexy. Julia and Jesse have a nice chemistry together, but I wish there would have been more of a buildup. Things happened a bit to fast between them.

I really liked this book. It was the perfect escape. Even if the beginning was slow-paced for me, I found myself enjoying the book more towards the 50% mark. Everything seemed to fall into place and from that moment, I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The storyline surprised me! The author included a twist that I never saw coming, which left me a bit confused. I can't really mention what it's about, but i'm extremely curious to find out what's going to happen in the next book. This book does not leave us with a cliffhanger for the main couple, but it did leave me at the edge of my seat.

My Rating:

I give Best Served Cold by Tawdra Kandle 4 lovely and flirtatious stars! If you are looking for a quick read with an interesting twist and enjoyable characters, this is the book for you!
