***New Edition Published June 7th***

Mystery, Murder, Manolo Blahnik

A devoted fashionata and practical New Yorker, Skylar Blackwell doesn’t believe in the supernatural—until she inherits Summerwind Mansion. . . .

When her uncle is brutally murdered, and the cops seem uninterested in following up the case, Skylar journeys to California to seek answers. Her search for clues is soon overshadowed by haunting nightmares of a young woman also murdered in the house.

Now the inhabitants of Summerwind are mysteriously dying, leaving no evidence as to how or why, and Skylar finds herself in a deadly race against time to expose the killer—before they strike again.

Armed with only wit and Pradas, Skylar begins questioning the servants, but the growing list of suspects includes the sexy and brooding caretaker, Dorian, a man desperately trying to forget his tragic past. And a major distraction for Skylar.

Determined to play detective—instead of the fashion police—and unravel the dark history of the mansion, Skylar is plunged into an otherworldly mystery that not even she can explain away. As the boundaries between reality and dreams blur, Skylar’s greatest challenge is to stay alive long enough to learn the truth.

The Way Ria Sees It

Ermergersh!!

Is it Tuesday? Cause I’m feeling like a top ten!
No?
Its Wednesday...
Well Sh!@ then better add a number, I’ll do a top 11!

Reasons why Mystery’s just aren’t for me!

I’m not very patient.
I really pay attention to the clues.
I tend to solve the “Mystery” well before most readers.
I'm constantly on the watch for foreshadowing.
I’m not very patient.
WHERE IS THE ROMANCE?!
That awkward moment when I realize the book I’m holding is more mystery than romance.
I’m very suspicious of EVERYONE! Even the MAIN character.
I’ve usually known the answer WAY before the character realizes whats going on.
And the MAIN reason why Mystery’s are not for me?..

I’M NOT PATIENT!!

Was that not 11?

Lol! Y'all get the gist ;)

Having Said All of THAT!! Other things about this book really kept me intrigued and interested. Ms. Sherry’s word flow was amazing! She has a way of playing each word as though its a movie reel and the images flash before you as you read the words.

I-nsidious, a dark force looms over Sky’s apartment.
M-oths, sent to scare or gross out Skylar, she has to adjust to her awesome fam!
M-enacing, a boss that seems more like the devil incarnate tells skylar to get her stuff together.
O-racle, Sky has a sixth sense. Is it warning her away or luring her closer?
R-eceived, an invitation to bring families together.
T-rusted Lawyer, he would be the one to keep Sky safe.
A-llure to Dorian Sky cannot help herself. He is what she wants.
L-ust what is it about a crazy suffocation whenever Dorian and Sky are near.

E-nvy, Isabelle squandered her ability to manipulate both cousins at the same time
C-ommitment, something has always been missing and Sky is determined to find out what that is.
L-ove, is too strong a feeling to accept, but the more time she spends with Damon the more apparent it is.
I-nnocent, death surrounds Sky and every person that passes causes her more pain.
P-leasure, being near Dorian makes Sky heal so why does he keep pushing her away.
S-urprise, Sky’s past holds the key to why she is so special and her true friend does what it takes to keep her safe.
E-ntitled, to happiness, both Sky and Dorian will live out their remaining days and years in the hope of consoling and loving each other.

This book was a bit slow building for me, but I really enjoyed the way everything gets tied together and neatly resolved. Though this book didn’t focus on sky’s romance it definitely was there and she receives her happy ending. Get ready for a snarky character with Sky! Immortal Eclipse will continue to elude from the big reveal time again and again! If you enjoy the mass gaggle of "is it or isn’t it" with a touch of paranormal then your going to fall for immortal eclipse.

My Fav’s

Dorian
Talk about insta love! Ms. Soule MAKES you see no one else she describes the way Sky feels for him. Honestly most of the time it will feel like that is the “normal” way you should feel about him. Dorian is protective and brooding with a dollop of wounded your going to want to fix his broken heart right away!

Sky
Even though I disagreed with Sky a lot and wanted to shake her over half of the book, I wanted her to find her happiness and her true friends. I really enjoyed her sense of fashion! And her smart A$$ behavior was top notch! Sky made me smile and laugh quite a bit even though she ignores the obvious a time or two ;)

My Rating

4.0 Ankh, Family Secret, Mansion Mystery, Tearful Goodbye, Noose, Poisoned, Bathtub, Secret Lab, Tragic, Love, Filled stars! This is the perfect book for those that enjoy mystery with a flare for paranormal!!

  1. What a great way to put this review together! I'm more of a romance than mystery girl too, but I do enjoy when a good mystery comes together!
