Synopsis:

Never in a million years would I have pictured myself as an axe-wielding, dragon lady, chopping up multi-colored flannel shirts into my very own plaid mulch. But here I am, chopping away my frustrations.

It all started when my brother, Paul, convinced me to go on one last family road trip across the Mother Road with him and my dad.. Just like old times, right? Wrong. What Paul fails to mention is his best man, Porter, will be joining us, who just so happens to be my childhood crush and the man who broke my heart four years ago.

What is supposed to be a fun, family bonding experience across Route 66 turns into a war of pranks, awkward moments and bathrooms full of dirty flannel shirts and day old beard clippings. Paul’s know-it-all attitude and Porter’s devilish charm brings me to the brink of my sanity on my seven day trek across the United States with three bearded men in a small 1980’s RV.

Review:

Are you ready for an unforgettable reading escape? Make sure to add The Mother Road, by Meghan Quinn, on your TBR list. My first ever read by this author was The Virgin Romance Novelist. It was such a delightful and fun book that I decided to keep Meghan Quinn on my bookworm radar. If this author is a newbie to you, I highly recommend that you start with The Mother Road. You will fall in love with her characters and her writing style.

The Mother Road follows Marley on a one in a lifetime road trip with Bernie (Marley's dad), Paul (Marley's brother) and Porter (Paul's best friend and Marley's childhood crush) Marley has been living in sunny Los Angeles and works as a beauty blogger. When her dad and brother show up with Tacy, which is their twenty-eight year old RV, Marley is kind of surprised and scared. What in the world is she getting herself into? It should be fun, right? The last thing she expected was for Porter to show up on this road trip. The last thing she needs is to be close to the person who broke her heart. As days go by, Marley and Porter grow closer and sparks fly, but what will happen when the road trip is over and everyone goes back home?

OMG!!! This book was so freakin' good!!! It made me laugh so much that I was crying!!! My husband kept on giving me the eye roll because he can't believe that a book makes me laugh so much. I told him that this book NEEDS to end up on the big screen. When I read it, it was like a movie was playing in front of my eyes. I felt like I was the sixth passenger in that RV. Yes, I said sixth passenger. There is a very special fifth passenger in this journey. You will get to know this character pretty well and will love every single thing about this person.

I am so happy that the author wrote this book in a dual POV. I am a big fan of male POV's. Marley's POV was pretty epic, but I have to admit that each time I would see Porter's name on top of a chapter I would do a little inner happy dance. OMG!! I never expected Porter to be so swoony!!! Gah!!!! I'm so jealous of Marley!!! That man is all kinds of sexiness! He made my heart melt so many times. I liked him from the beginning and I kept on falling for him until the very end. Even if I screamed at him a couple of times for pushing my girl Marley away, I knew that deep down he was the perfect match for her. Marley is the kind of heroine I love to cheer for. I can absolutely see myself hanging out with her and talking about weird and awkward things ... lol!!!

All the characters made this incredible reading journey a memorable one. Marley and Porter are just too adorable for words and I love them to pieces. Their chemistry is super hot and their love for each other is so romantic. This book is filled with TMI moments and pretty awkward conversations that you can't help wanting more of. I will never forget this road trip and I am without a doubt adding this book to my favorites. I will be reading it again for sure. If you are looking for a book that will melt your heart, make you laugh, make you swoon left and right and bring the biggest smile on your face, The Mother Road is the book for you! You will not be disappointed! Sit back, relax and enjoy this hilarious road trip.

About the Author:
Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protectyour legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot andsteamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
