Synopsis

Luke Boone doesn't know exactly what his uncle Rust is involved in but he wants in on it-the cars, the money, the women. And it looks like he's finally getting his wish. When Rust hands him the managerial keys to the garage, they come with a second set-one that opens up the door to tons of cash and opportunity. Though it's not exactly legal, Luke's never been one to worry about that sort of thing. Especially when it puts him behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 and onto the radar of gorgeous socialite named Rain.

Clara Bertelli is at the top of her game-at only twenty-six years old, she's one of the most successful undercover officers in the Washington D.C. major crime unit, and she's just been handed a case that could catapult her career and expose one of the west coast's most notorious car theft rings. But, in order to do it, she'll need to go deep undercover as Rain Martines. Her target? The twenty-four-year old nephew of a key player who appears ready to follow in his uncle's footsteps.

As Clara drifts deeper into the luxurious lifestyle of Rain, and further into the arms of her very attractive and charming target, the lines between right and wrong start to blur, making her wonder if she'll be able to leave it all behind. Or if she'll even want to.

Rain is as Beautiful as it is Destructive

(Green Eggs & Ham Tune)
I do not like crime suspenseful thrillers
I do not like them
Ria I am

Not with wine
Not out to dine
Not in the den
Not with a friend
Not all alone
Not even in the zone

K.A. Tucker is the author
No one writes books any hotter
And you know as well as me
it is sure to bring you glee

Try it try it and you may
Try it and you may I say
I will try it you will see
I will try it just let me be!

Hey!
I do like crime suspenseful thrillers
I do! I say! Hey! Hey! Hey!
And I would read them…
With Wine
Out to dine
In the den
With a friend
All alone
It put me in the Zone!

You were RIGHT!
Tucker is bright!
She is so good!
So good Indeed!

I would read her work anywhere
crime suspense thriller
I don’t care
I will read what she writes
I will read it day and night

*disclaimer this knock off of green eggs and ham only applies to K.A. Tucker.

In all honesty I don’t like thrillers/ suspense/ crime/ mystery and there are a few other categories I don’t like but they don’t have to do with Becoming Rain so I will leave those out.
One thing is for sure Tucker is one of my favorite authors EVER! Not only is she an awesome author her personality just rocks! I KNEW I had to read this…Let me just say…wow

Just

Wow

I’ve never read an entire book whilst holding my breath, until now. I’m pretty sure I passed out several times mostly due to lack of oxygen rather than extreme exhaustion. Um if you haven’t noticed I LOVED THIS BOOK!! This is the second installment in the Burying Water series the first book started with Burying Water and it too was awesome. Though this can be read as a standalone I recommend the whole series in order to benefit from all the awesome! This installment features Rain/Clara and Luke. I wan’t a huge fan of Luke in the first installment but I saw the potential. Tucker nailed it I fell hard for Luke and Rain. This is definitely one I recommend. From beginning to end get ready to be on the edge of your seat.

B-right, Clara has worked very hard as an undercover to get to where she is. With the FBI in sight she will do what it takes to see to it that this case gets resolved soon.
E-ntourage, Luke didn’t grow up with a father the only person who has ever cared for him like a son is his uncle. Rust has Luke’s loyalty it is not going anywhere.
C-ircumstances, Clara has assumed her undercover role as Rain well all she has to do is capture the attention of her target.
O-pportunity, after a couple failed attempts Rain makes a drastic decision and it pays off for her.
M-agnetic, Luke has not known Rain for long but there is something special between these two. Not wanting to risk losing her Luke will follow her pace.
I-nformation, Rain has not gotten much but every moment she is falling deeper for her target. Lines between right and wrong have become obscured and she doesn't know what to do.
N-ames, there are so many people in play but the roles are not clear Luke has to get this deal off the ground and prove his worth to Rust.
G-ames, Rain has met several key players but one woman intrigues her beyond the rest. Now she has to figure out a way to use this new found common ground to her best interest.

R-emorse, after everything Rain has seen she knows Luke has a good heart and is a good man. Nothing can change the events that have been set in motion.
A-lone, everything Luke thought he knew has come back and punched him in the face. A carefully placed warning was a saving grace. Luke will do what he must to ensure justice is carried out.
I-nterviews, Rain’s dreams are coming true but her heart is broken. Knowing what she must do Rain sets out to pursue what has been missing.
N-egotiations, Luke has come a long way in life though things are much different than he imagined he knows his decisions were sound. Everyone and everything is as it should be. Through pain and loss new begins are always possible.

Perfect! Perfect! Perfect! I was so worried about all of the players and the inevitable outcome I just couldn’t see a happy ending anywhere in sight. I’m happy to report Tucker is a genius and I am beyond ecstatic with the way things ended. Don’t get me wrong it didn’t happen easily there was so much emotion and heartbreak. I found my heart in my stomach so many times I lost count. The tears and twists were enough that by the end I was left with a sense of euphoria. I highly highly highly recommend this!

About the Author:
Born in small-town Ontario, K.A. Tucker published her first book at the age of six with the help of her elementary school librarian and a box of crayons. She is a voracious reader, and currently resides in a quaint town outside of Toronto with her husband, two beautiful girls, and an exhausting brood of four-legged creatures.

Glad you loved this book, considering it's not what you would usually pick up. I haven't actually read a book by KA Tucker as yet, I hope to do so soon!
