Excerpt:

Kevin had occasionally done something that reminded me of myself, but next to a DNA test, I still had no valid proof he was my brother. Nothing that connected us as family.

Until now.

“Dude, you’re creeping me out,” Kevin said, reaching for his shorts. Before he could pull them back on I dropped the hose and bee-lined toward him, wrapping him in a bear hug. “You really are my brother.”

“Huh?” Kevin asked, standing as still as a statue.

“Shhhh…just let me love you.”

“What exactly is going on out here?” Dre asked from the porch, flipping on the light. I still didn’t let go.

“He’s my brother. I’m sure of it now,” I informed her.

“I have no idea what’s going on,” Kevin said, wiggling free from my grip.

“Oh yeah?” Dre asked, amusement in her sleepy tone. She yawned and cinched the sash of the sexy little robe she was wearing that showed off those amazing legs of hers. “How are you so sure?”

I stepped back and pointed down to Kevin’s massive cock.

“Because of that!” Dre’s sweet laughter filled the air. I picked up the hose again and started to spray Kevin down. “Shit man, that’s cold!” he shouted, dancing around in the grass. “And are you gonna fill me in on what exactly she’s laughing at?”

“That,” I informed him, spraying his crotch with water. “Because I just found more proof that we’re brothers than the fact that we think we both were shot out of the same cunt.” I grinned from ear to ear.

“Okay? And what’s that?” Kevin asked. I turned off the hose and Dre tossed him a towel. I dropped my eyes to the huge slab of man meat between Kevin’s legs. “From the waist down we’re not just brothers, we’re fucking twinsies.”

“Uh, what the fuck, Preppy?” Kevin asked, putting his shorts back on.

“Quick,” I said. “Tell me something. How do you feel about pancakes?”

Kevin shivered. “Honestly, I’m more of a waffle kind of guy.”

Dre gasped.

I shut my eyes tightly, clenching my fists at my side. I cracked my neck and slowly turned to face him. I opened my eyes. “What the fuck did you just say to me, boy? You better start running.”

“Wait, what?” Kevin asked, taking a step back and tripping over the sprinkler. He stood up and bolted through the gate. I chased him through the field while Dre looked on and laughed. “I take it all back! You’re not my brother!” I shouted, tackling him to the ground and sitting on his chest.

“What the fuck, Preppy?” Kevin asked, squirming under me.

“You and I need to have a serious fucking talk.” I leaned down until my nose was almost touching his. “About the abomination that is waffles.”

Review:

The King Series, by T.M. Frazier, has been one fantastic reading journey. It's a bittersweet moment for me because I’m sad to see this amazing series come to an end. T.M. Frazier created a world where I want to live in with characters that I will never forget. If you have not read this series, you are seriously missing out! Part three of Preppy and Dre's story is one emotional, intense and passionate book that concludes this series to perfection!

The conclusion to Preppy and Dre's love story was EPIC! I had high expectations for this third part and T.M. Frazier exceeded all of my expectations. From beginning to end, this book delivers all the feels and leaves you wanting more! I don't want to recap this last installment because I want every reader to have an unforgettable reading journey just like I did. What I will tell you is that the chemistry between Preppy and Dre, and also the bond between all the characters of this story, is stronger than ever. If you think you loved Preppy in the previous books, you have seen nothing yet! He will completely melt your heart in this one and leave you in a state of mush! He's the most unique and fascinating character that I have ever had the pleasure to discover in book town.

Big ugly crying happened once I read the last few pages of this book. I did not want to let these characters go! I really tried to slow down and read it in more than one sitting. That was absolutely impossible! What I ended up doing is reading the entire book in one sitting and starting the series all over again from book one.

I'm never letting these characters go. They will be my comfort blanket when the world around me is too much to handle and they will be my happy place to revisit when I'm feeling nostalgic. T.M. Frazier's writing style is absolutely sensational and if you are looking for a new series to fall in love with, this is the one!

Rating:

I give, Preppy Part Three, by T.M. Frazier, 5 sensational, emotional, all-consuming stars!

Synopsis:

It’s only pretend…

And it’s only three months.

I’m in the midst of scrawling “I QUIT!” onto his fancy cardstock letterhead when my boss corners me. He needs a favor, he says. And then he asks how well I can act …

Hudson Rutherford needs a fiancée.

With his old-moneyed parents forcing him to marry some bratty hotel heiress and his hedonistic, playboy lifestyle at stake, the only way to get them to back off is to make them think he’s truly, madly, deeply in love … with me—his third personal assistant this year.

But I can hardly stand working for him as it is.

Hudson is crazy hot and well-aware. He’s arrogant, spoiled, and silver-spooned. He checks me out when he thinks I’m not looking, and his life is a revolving door of beautiful women. Plus, he can’t even pronounce my name correctly—how’s he going to convince his family he’s in love with me?!

I’m seconds from giving him a resounding “no” when he flashes his signature dimpled smirk and gives me a number that happens to contain a whole mess of zeroes …

On second thought, I think I can swallow my pride.

But, oh baby, there’s one thing I haven’t told him, one teensy-tiny thing that could make this just a hair complicated …

Here’s hoping this entire thing doesn’t explode in our faces.

Review:

What a fun and romantic reading escape! The Perfect Illusion by Winter Renshaw was the perfect book to get me out of my book funk. I have picked up many books and none would hold my interest because let’s face it, when you get a book funk #TheStruggleIsReal

Maribel has been working for Hudson Rutherford for two months. Enough is enough. Her boss is the biggest jerk she has ever met and she needs to find a new job ASAP. Her intention was to quit the moment she walked in to work. Instead, Hudson offers her a deal she can’t refuse. He needs a fiancée and Maribel is the perfect person for his plan. As days go by, the lines between what is real and what is fake begins to blur for Maribel and Hudson. Will they be able to go their separate ways once everything is said and done?

The cover and the blurb is what captivated me. Once I met the characters, I knew that this was going to be a wonderful reading journey! Maribel and Hudson completely stole my heart and I was cheering for their HEA from the very beginning. Their chemistry is amazing and their banter is pretty awesome!

Winter Renshaw did a fantastic job with the Fake Fiancé trope. This book left me with a happy heart and a smile on my face! I read the Fake Fiancé storyline a few times so I was pretty sure that I knew what was coming. Boy was I wrong! I completely forgot about the storyline and fell for Mr. Control Freak just like Maribel did. I loved how they got to know each other and how they slowly fell in love. The author included a twist I did not see coming and a fantastic cast of characters.

Rating:

I give, The Perfect Illusion, by Winter Renshaw, 4.5 romantic, fun, sweet, falling for your boss stars!

Book Review: Harmful Rush A Stand-Alone Novel (Remedy #3) by Debra Doxer

Harmful Rush
A Stand-Alone Novel
(Remedy #3)
by
Debra Doxer
Published
April 19th 2017

Summary

Harmful Rush is a standalone, full-length novel set in the Remedy world. You do not have to read the first two books to read this book.

Skylark Samuels has a secret.

She’s not a normal teenager, although she plays one in real life. Pretending to be something you’re not isn’t easy, especially in high school where gossip is gold. For years, Sky manages to hide her uniqueness, until one fateful day when she exposes her gift, her curse, and all her fears come to pass. Now instead of going to college near home like she planned, she has to leave town and go someplace where the rumors can’t follow. The plan when she gets there: keep to herself and stay under the radar.

But blending into the background is impossible when local heartthrob Dylan Parks notices her. Even though Sky keeps her distance and doesn’t act like one of Dylan’s adoring fans, he goes out of his way to talk to her. Her. The girl who wants to be invisible.

Sky isn’t immune to Dylan’s charm, but getting close to him is a bad idea. It goes against the promise she made to herself. Besides, if Dylan knew the truth, he wouldn’t want her. If he discovered her secret, he’d treat her differently and possibly fear her. It’s happened before. But the more Sky gets to know Dylan, the harder it is to resist him, until fate intervenes.

A tragic event forces Sky to reveal herself to the one person she’s come to care for, and his reaction is unexpected. For the first time, she doesn’t feel so alone. But what she doesn’t realize is that she’s never been alone. When she finally lets her guard down, someone comes along who threatens to unravel everything, because being normal was never Sky’s destiny.

Gifts That Help Ought To Not Be Taken Advantage of

My, my, my, goodness. It has been a very long time since I’ve been in the world of the Remedy Series. Harmful Rush delivers one hundred percent. This is marked as a standalone but I knew there had to be a connection to my beloved Ray. Doxer has a way with words that will absolutely enthrall you. Her characters are not only relatable but they feel real. Hands down I feel like I know this wonderful cast but at the same time they are a wonderful escape. I’m not certain who Doxer has doing her covers but they are obviously Magic. Hands down her covers are always exceptional and just as enthralling as her writing. I could stare at them all day and I dare you to argue! Is it selfish to say I want more? I hope not because I do…That’s the best part of re-reads…The trio of books in the Remedy series are definitely books I could see myself visiting again.

The Story, get ready to fall in love with all things. This book starts off with a bang and let me tell you! Nothing else will get in the way of finishing this book. I fought life, hunger, sleep all the things just so I could finish this book. The beginning was so captivating and different from any other reads, I was hooked. I got slapped across the face with this book so fast that I didn’t even have time to post about it on GoodReads. I went to my currently reading…then to my read…and lo and behold it was still sitting in my to read shelf! I digress Sky was wonderful her life has been very sheltered and she doesn’t know who she is or why she is. She has a heart that bleeds for everyone a betrayal will change all of her plans and everything she knew.

The Characters, Sky harbors a secret and learning to trust is very difficult for her. I enjoyed her humanitarian heart but also her spark and fire. She is not one to back off and she holds her ground when others would falter she is steadfast. Her adoptive father was very protective of her secret and he begged Sky never to let it leave her lips again. I just adored the dynamic she had with her newfound friends. They were actually the ones always wanting to include Sky and make her feel like she was truly loved and welcome in their little duo. Cue the ultra-awesome stud muffin aka Dylan! He saw Skylark and he felt a pull so strong he would stop at nothing to know her better. I loved the banter they had, I loved the way their relationship developed and I LOVED how he was with her. I could not get enough of these two!

The End, this is a standalone but the connections I mentioned earlier all spring up towards the end. Throughout the whole book I kept wanting to guess ahead to figure out what would happen…I did not figure it out but when its revealed man all the feels…All of the magical holy smokes I want more feels came pouring to the surface. This is where the rubber meets the road. Sky takes a huge risk and reveals all of her cards. A confrontation will have you gasping through the pages! I didn’t devour this book I inhaled it…one sitting…and done. Adios…something very touching brings Sky much needed closure and I could not be happier for my girl! The connections and the closure is there. I don’t know if this is the end of the Remedy series because it could very well be but as a major fan I hope it’s not. I want More More More!!!

My Rating

4.5 Always love with all of your heart filled stars!
