Synopsis:

Three months ago, graphic designer Vanessa Hewitt slept with the ridiculously hot guy she met after nearly falling to her death while stargazing on a bridge. The adrenaline-fueled night of we’ll-never-see-each-other-again sex fulfilled every fantasy, but with her best friend’s wedding on the horizon, Vanessa can’t stop thinking about what would happen if her sexy stranger passed through town again.

Haunted by his time in Afghanistan, soldier John Campbell returns to his hometown just long enough to help plan an engagement party for his sister. When he realizes her best friend is the sweet one-night stand he's been fantasizing about for months, he’ll do anything to have her again…though getting trapped together in a storeroom wasn’t quite what he had in mind.

Vanessa is in hell. Or is it heaven? Because with every touch, their forbidden connection grows, until kissing Mr. Wrong starts feeling more like kissing Mr. Right...

Review:

Kissing Mr. Wrong, by Kerri Carpenter, was such a fun reading escape! I won't lie to you, I one-click every single day! *Ahem* I know ... It's bad!!! When I saw the book cover and the blurb, I immediately one-clicked! Kerri Carpenter is a new author to me and since this was a novella it was the perfect book to start discovering this awesome author. I really loved her writing style and her characters were funny and lovable.

Victoria Hewitt is having a horrible day. She just got laid off of work. It's not easy finding a  job as a graphic designer around Crescent Fall. She decides to go have a drink to her home away from home, also known as Mike's bar. While she's talking to the owner, he offers her a job as a waitress until she can find another job. That day might have started on the wrong foot, but when a hottie sitting at the bar can't keep his eyes off of Victoria, her day is about to turn memorable. The connection she shared with John was instant and the amazing night that they had together won't stop replaying in her mind. Three months later, Victoria is about to start a new job. On her last night working at Mike's, John comes back to town and turns her world upside down. She's happy to see him, until she figures out she had a hot one-night stand with her best friend's little brother. Will Vanessa give their relationship a chance?

This novella was sweet and fun! It's the perfect reading escape if you are looking for something short to read that will leave a big smile on your face. Everything happens really quick in this book. This is a novella so I was expecting it. What I did not expect was to connect so fast to Victoria and John. I really liked them together. Victoria was a bit difficult at times. Once she found out that John was Jessica's brother she tried to push him away. My heart broke for John because he really liked Victoria and he was disappointed that she would not give them a chance. Their chemistry was good and their story was awesome! I will definitely read other books by Kerri Carpenter. I really enjoy this novella and if you are looking for a short novella that will make you escape, give Kissing Mr. Wrong a chance!

Rating:

I give Kissing Mr. Wrong, by Kerri Carpenter, 3.5 flirty, lovable, sweet, page-turning stars!

About the Author:

I began writing in my grandmother’s kitchen at the age of seven in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, PA. A life-long fan of reading, I used to get lost in the worlds of The Baby-sitters Club and Sweet Valley High. I also assumed that everyone had characters and plots forming in their heads at all times.

As soon as my mom handed me my first Nora Roberts romance novel, I couldn’t get enough of books with happy endings, so I started writing my own. Now, I writes contemporary romances, usually set in small towns. I enjoy reading, cooking, watching movies, taking Zumba classes, rooting for Pittsburgh sports teams, and anything sparkly. I live in Northern Virginia with my adorable (and mischievous) poodle mix, Harry.

  1. Does sound like a good quickie. I'm reading one where the girl keeps pushing the guy away and hurting him. I have these reader claws I want to punch through the book and swipe her with. Glad you enjoyed this one.
