My Thoughts:

A Shattered Heart was a beautiful story about the anguish and pain we experience from loss.  It is the second book in the Fractured Lives series, and I recommend reading these books in order.

The night best friends Mackenzie, Zach, Kat, Dan, Jessica, and Tracy graduated from high school would forever change their destinies.  A terrible car accident killed Dan, Jessica, and Tracy, while the three remaining survivors suffered permanent physical and emotional scars.  

Kat cannot deal with her excruciating pain and heartache.  She wishes that she had died that night.  Losing her soulmate is a tragedy that she knows she'll never overcome.  Dan was her best friend, and the most important person in her life.  They grew up together, and had so many plans for their future.  Now, Kat doesn't know how she is suppose to move on.  She's filled with anger, and constantly finds herself lashing out at the world around her. 

Kat has been running away from her pain.  She has avoided friendship, any mention of Dan or the past.  For a year she traveled all over Europe throwing herself in to her art.  

Now she is back in her hometown, and doing everything to avoid her past.  However, when Kat begins her new job teaching art to the kids at the local Y.M.C.A., she run's in to Brian, Dan's younger brother.  Brian is determined to be a part of Kat's life, and she tries to resist.  When Kat slowly begins to let him in, she finds herself healing and slowly falling in love again.  Guilt plagues her, and she tries to push Brian away.  Will Kat let herself heal, and give Brian the opportunity to help mend her shattered heart?

A Shattered Heart took me to a very dark place.  It was such a raw and powerful story.  I connected with Kat and Brian.  I sympathized with Kat's pain, and my heart hurt for her.  I felt her loss, and every one of her emotions.  

Ms. King has a gift when it comes to writing about the human experience.  Her prose make you feel every emotion, until you feel one with her main character.  This was a story that spoke to me about picking yourself up, after you feel like you can't move on.  It spoke of how painful loss is, but that it's worth it to experience love and living.  

I am looking forward to reading Zach's story, but know that it will be the most painful of all.  He lost the girl he was in love with, and is permanently paralyzed from the accident.  He is filled with self-loathing, and has given up on life.  It will take a special someone to heal his broken heart.

A Shattered Moment is a tender and touchingly bittersweet story.  At it's heart, are themes of loss, strength, resilience, perseverance, new beginnings, and a journey of self-discovery.  This story and it's characters are real and relatable.

One night shattered Mackenzie's happy and carefree life forever.  It was the day of her high school graduation, a time for celebration with her 5 best friends, that ended in tragedy.  Now, Mackenzie "Mac" is left to pick up the broken pieces of her injured body and devastated psyche.  After one year of living with her parents, Mac decides that it is best to move away for her second year of college and live in the dorms.  However, she doesn't know how to begin anew.  She is living with survivor's guilt, and emotional scars, which result in her social isolation.

Mac finds solace in going to her college library, sitting in the same comfortable chair, and keeping to herself on a daily basis.  One day, she see's "Hunk Worthy" Bentley James, and they recognize each other immediately.  He was the EMT who helped rescue her the day of the tragic car wreck.  Bentley is intrigued by Mac.  He becomes determined to get her out of her shell.  Little by little, with Bentley's charismatic charm, patience, compassion, and sensitivity, he strikes up a friendship with Mac.  However, the more he gets to know Mac and see how special she is, the more he wants a relationship with her.  Is Mac ready for a new beginning?

A Shattered Moment hurt my heart to read.  I empathized with all that Mac had to endure, and more than anything, I wanted her to find a way to be happy living again.  Bentley's character touched me deeply.  He was such an amazing individual, and exactly what Mac needed in her life.  As closed off as Mac was, it took someone special to get her to let her walls down, and Bentley was that person.

For anyone that has endured painful loss, a debilitating physical injury, and has been in an emotionally dark place, this story will resonate deeply within you.  There was a beautiful romance that slowly unfurled between Mac and Bentley, but more than anything, this story centered on Mac's journey, fortitude, healing, and finding the strength to live her life again.

A Shattered Moment, by Tiffany King, was a journey of a lifetime.  A lifetime that not too many people would want to travel.  It was an emotionally charged, tearful, devastating story.  A story filled with friendship, love, loss, and mending.  A Shattered Moment made me feel every emotion possible for this broken girl, Mac.  Mac was filled with so much survivor's guilt, painful memories, PTSD, physical scars and limitations that mentality paralyzed her with uncontrollable fear.

One year after the horrific car accident, that occurred on graduation night with her 5 best friends since elementary school, Mac has finally decided to go off to college to escape her parents and her now non-existent life.  Her parents put her up in the dorm.  What they don't realize is that she won't communicate with her roommate, other students, or anyone else.  She is a shell of the person she once was.  Every day is spent hiding her face and scars from the public.

A Shattered Moment is full of life lessons!  I loved this story.  It was heart wrenching, and at the same time filled with compassion, beauty, empathy, patience, and hope.  Ms. King has written a beautiful and tender love story.  Mac grows exponentially in this story.  Bentley is a wonderful, caring, considerate character.  Reader's will fall for him head over heals.

I give, A Shattered Moment, by Tiffany King, 4 Emotionally Charged, Full Circle, Life Changing, Second Chance At Love Stars!  This book was a tear jerker.  Get your kleenex ready ladies, I couldn't stop crying or reading.  The sequel promises to be unforgettable!

My Thoughts:

When I saw that an anthology was coming out with so many amazing New Adult Romance Authors, I had to read it!  I love these authors and have read many of their books!   So, I was pretty much guaranteed an amazing anthology!  I'm happy to say that they delivered an entertaining, fun, and swoon-worthy anthology!

In When We Met, we meet Misha, Indy, Courtney and Chloe, four college roommates and close friends.  They are all attending the same college in Michigan.  Misha and Indy are both dealing with broken hearts, humiliation, and angst over two guys that they though cared about them.  Misha though Hunter had strong feelings for her, but he took her virginity, and used her in the worst way possible.  He recorded them having sex, and showed it off to all of his friends.  So when Misha meets Darryn, a gorgeous and arrogant neighbor of hers, she doesn't know if she can trust him.  Darryn feels protective of Mish and is determined to prove that he is nothing like Hunter.

Indy was with her boyfriend for two years, until the day she came home early from a visit with her family, and caught him in bed with someone else.  To top it off he is now engaged to the other girl, who is pregnant with his child.  Indy decides to party her troubles away by drinking herself in to oblivion.  Kier, takes care of her and puts her to bed after each drunken episode, but she never remembers him the next day.  He's harbored feelings for Indy for a year and a half, but will she ever get over her ex-boyfriend?  

Courtney and Chloe work crazy hours at their jobs.  Courtney is surprised when she runs in to Dalton, her childhood best friend and crush. He is the head star of their school's basketball team, and will most likely go pro.  Courtney thinks he abandoned their friendship many years ago, and that he's arrogant and a womanizer.  Dalton doesn't understand Courtney's animosity towards him, and has nothing but great memories of their friendship.  He plans on proving to Courtney that he is not what she thinks he is, but will she gave him a chance?  

Chloe works hard at her job/internship in a clothing store, and loves her boss Jaclyn.  However, she can't say the same for the bosses gorgeous, yet frustrating and rude nephew, Blake.  Then Jaclyn pairs Chloe and Blake together for a project.  Blake thinks Chloe is uptight, and pretentious, but as these two get to know each other they realize that their perceptions of one another were wrong.  Both Chloe and Blake are bogged down with responsibilities.  Will their new found understanding of one another lead to something more?

Each of these stories was written with each authors unique writing style, and yet they all blended well to make a great anthology.  The first two stories had more angst, and were about healing, finding strength, and new beginnings.  The second two stories were lighter, had to do with misunderstanding, and making false judgements and assumptions.  All four stories were about coming of age, growing up, learning from mistakes, and becoming your own person.  They all had romance, steamy love scenes, and made me swoon!    

My Rating:

When We Met was fast-paced and an addicting read.  I thoroughly enjoyed all four stories in this romance anthology and would highly recommend it.  I give, When We Met, by A.L. No Attachments, by Tiffany King was a romantic reading journey that kept me turning the pages until early morning! Ashton and Nathan's love story was tender, passionate, addictive and fun! I love it when authors create characters that are so easy to relate to.

When Ashton Garrison meets sexy and mysterious Nathan Lockton, sparks fly immediately. What started out as a no strings attached fling soon becomes a tornado of emotions neither of them ever expected. Will they be able to let go of the past and give love a chance?  

Ashton and Nathan totally stole my heart! The chemistry and the banter between them was AMAZING! It was so easy to connect with them from the very beginning. This is the most important thing to me. I need to feel connected to the main characters from the beginning of the story to the very end. The author did an awesome job at keeping me on the edge of my seat and I never lost my connection with Ashton and Nathan. Yes, there are some moments when I wanted to virtually slap them both for the way they were acting, but that's what I love about reading I get to experience all kinds of emotions!

Ashton is lovable and funny! She's sweet and I loved her friendship with Tressa, Brittni and Fran. I LOL so many times at the things she said or did around Nathan. I don't blame her!!! I would become a puddle of mush if I was around Nathan too! *Swoon* 

Nathan was AWESOME! I loved the way he took care of Ashton. He became her Romeo in disguise and he swept her off her feet. I also loved to see him fall heads over heels in love with her. Oh, and let's not forget that he gave her the bike ride of her life ... *Fans Self*

What I really liked about this reading journey is the way Ashton and Nathan got to know each other. They went on dates, they talked about their past, their insecurities, and what they wanted in life. They both had a past that left them with emotional scars. It broke my heart to see them talk about those emotional events. I cheered for this couple from the very beginning and I loved how they grew stronger has individuals, and has a couple.

The supporting characters in this story were fantastic! We got to know Ashton's best friends pretty well in this book. I can't wait to read Tressa and Brittni's story! These two are hilarious!!! ;)
