My Review:

The Story of Samantha Smith Series was a fantastic reading escape! I read the three books in this series back-to-back, and I loved every moment of it! Outstanding work by Devon Hartford!

Painless is the last installment of The Samantha Smith Series. This book starts exactly where Reckless ended. I was so nervous to read what was going to happen next! Reckless ended with a HUGE cliffhanger! Samantha and Christos have been through a lot of ups and downs since the beginning of their relationship. As Samantha and Christos continue their journey together they will embark on an emotional roller coaster ride that will have them making decisions that will change their lives forever.

Painless was the perfect ending to a great series! I have seen Samantha and Christos grow not only as a couple, but as individuals as well. Samantha is a totally different person from who she was in Fearless. She is more confident and strong. Christos' support and encouragement have made her become the person that she truly wanted to be. Samantha had to deal with a lot of difficult situations. Her mom was such a B*tch!!!! OMG!!! My stomach is turning just thinking about her!!! What a horrible person! With her decision of changing her major from Accounting to Art, Samantha is seeing firsthand that her decisions come with consequences. I was so proud of all the decisions that she made! She had to fight for what she wanted and with Christos' love and support she achieved her goals. Christos ... Where do I start with Christos?!?!?! His love for Samantha was beautiful and touching. Even if he was going through some difficult times, he was always there for Samantha when she needed him. Christos is an artist and he had to find true inspiration to continue his work. True Love was what he really needed to find is way back to painting. Together they created beautiful paintings and memories. In Painless, family bonds will be tested, people will change, career choices will be made and love will overcome all obstacles.

Madison, Jake, Kamiko and Romeo are absolutely amazing characters! I love them to pieces! The banter between them is incredible! I would love to see what is next for all of them, but at the end of Painless the author mentioned that for now it was the end for these characters :( Another character, Victory Payne, will be getting her own story. I cannot wait to read this new series! Word is that her love interest, Kellan Burns, is HOTTTTT!!!! Bring it!!!!! ;)

I give, Painless, by Devon Hartford 4 fast-paced, hot, unique, love filled stars!

About the Author:

WHY I WRITE ROMANCE NOVELS FOR WOMEN
A lot of people ask me, “Why is a guy writing romance novels for women?”
The answer is simple. Everyone falls in love. Even Men.
Imagine that. ;-)
Of course, I’m half-joking, but also half-serious. Most men behave as if they have no emotions and certainly never—GASP!—talk about them. Men control their emotions. No man is a man if he lets his emotions get the best of him, right? Men conquer their emotions.
Hardly.
Emotions are as much a part of a man’s human experience as they are a woman’s. I’m sure the specifics are as different as individual people can be. But if a man wants to have a complete experience as a human being, he must embrace his emotional nature and learn to understand it.
What better way to explore emotions than to focus on stories centering around emotional experiences? Including the most intense emotional experience of all, love?
Having read a slew of New Adult romances in the past year, I noticed again and again that these novels dealt with the repressed pain of emotional scars and how love can help heal our wounds. Everyone has emotional scars. Women and men. Everyone hopes to heal, and a loving relationship can be a conduit for both partners to heal together.
My own stories feature characters who are on a quest to heal their pain. I believe this is a universal desire. It’s my hope that readers of my stories may heal in some small way or gain some perspective regarding their own emotional wounds.

My Review:

So, a few days ago I started reading about Samantha and Christos' journey in Fearless. I loved the first installment of The Story of Samantha Smith and I could not wait to read what was next for this awesome couple! Reckless was great!

In Reckless, we follow Christos and Samantha's journey as a couple. Even if they started their relationship in Fearless, I feel that Reckless was all about their emotional journey together. There was so much stuff happening in both their lives. Samantha has a lot of important decisions to take concerning school. She decides to change her major from Accounting to Art. Her decision brings consequences that she was not expecting and she now as to deal with them. With Christos' support she is determined to be Fearless and fight for what she wants. Christos life spins out of control in Reckless. He has Samantha's love and a blooming career, but the secrets he's been keeping from Samantha are about to turn is world upside down.

What I love the most about Devon Hartford's books is that it's so easy to relate to the story. Everything that happened to Samantha and Christos is something that could happen in our everyday life and that we can connect with. There was never a moment while reading this series that I said to myself ''This only happens in books.'' Samantha's situation with her parents is something that I have heard of before. I have very supportive parents, but some of my friends don't. Samantha's tears broke my heart and I knew exactly what she was going through. Some of my friends are going through the same situation. Christo's and her friends are there 100% behind every decision that she makes and are always there to show their support. Not only did she have to deal with her parents, but she also had to deal with two unexpected admirers who will not let her go. I loved the way she dealt with both of them. You can really see that she has only eyes for Christos.

Christos was a real surprise for me in this book. I am so glad that Devon Hartford decided to include his POV in this book. I loved reading about his thoughts. We got flashbacks of when he met Samantha and I think that it was important to read that from his POV since it's connected with what will happen later on with the storyline. He is such an amazing boyfriend to Samantha. The way he dealt with Samantha's Vcard situation was amazing!! He made her feel comfortable and he respected her. I swooned and laughed when I read about it. It was real. The steaminess factor in Reckless is turned up a notch compared to Fearless. So, expect some steamy scenes between these two ;)

Ok, I'm not a big fan of cliffhangers. I hate them!!! I have learned with time to live with them. I used to put a series on the side until every book was out because I could not stand those damn cliffhangers!!! But, I changed! I now find that the more the cliffhanger has an OMG I NEED THIS BOOK LIKE YESTERDAY!!!! kind of ending, the more I enjoy the book when it comes out. There is nothing more exciting than to see that book show up on your news feed with the word LIVE next to it ;) This book had a HUGE cliffhanger and I cannot wait to see what happens next. I screamed NOOOOOO! and, after my heart broke :( Oh, my God!!! What's going to happen next?!?!?! Eeeeeep!!! I'm reading Painless as soon as I finish typing this review :P

I give, Reckless, by Devon Hartford, 4 emotional, steamy, page-turning, captivating stars! I am so happy I got a chance to discover this awesome series! :)

My Review:

*Ahem* Do I have your attention? I don't usually start my reviews like this, but can I just say that this series has some blazing hot covers!!! Holy Cannoli!!! *Fans Self* Fearless is the first installment in The Story of Samantha Smith Series. I had such a great time reading about Samantha's journey!

Samantha Smith leaves her hometown of Washington D.C. and moves to San Diego to start college and leave behind a suffocating past. New town, new friends, new life. That's how Samantha's journey started, but when sexy and confident Christos enters her life everything is about to get complicated. The more time they spend together the more they get under each other's skin. Will Samantha find a way to let go of the past and take a step towards her future with Christos?

What a fantastic debut novel from Devon Hartford!! This book had a captivating storyline and lovable characters that were easy to relate to. It was a real page-turner! I stayed reading way pass my bedtime. I was really curious to find out what was Samantha's secret. When I found out, my heart broke for her. Trying to let go of the past is not easy and at some point it always catches up. I was proud of the way she revealed her secret to Christos. She tried to keep her distance from him, but Christos did everything in his power to keep her close and to make her feel safe and loved.

I really liked Samantha. Her inner monologue was hilarious!!! I LOL so many times while reading Fearless :) I have to admit that the only thing that got me super nervous was her jealousy towards EVERY single woman that was around Christos. I can understand her jealousy when they started getting serious, but before that it was a bit too much. Christos ..... Oh, my squeeee! Where do I start with Christos?!?!?! I absolutely loved him!!!! Every single time he would say Agàpi mou I would freakin' melt!!! It was soooo sweet!!!! Behind that Bad boy image hides a man with a heart a gold. I loved how ART brought these two closer together. Talking about ART ... There is one scene in the book where Sam gets a bit naughty in her Art class ... Ouuuu my God!!! That was steamy and hysterical all at once! I would have paid big money to be sitting next to Romeo and Kamiko ;) What I really loved about Samantha and Christos is that their relationship was not rushed. Every tender and steamy moment occurred at the perfect time!

I often mention that the supporting characters are very important when I read a book. Madison, Romeo and Kamiko were AMAZING!!! This story would not have been the same without them! I had to literally put my kindle down when Romeo was talking. He's freakin' hilarious!!!! This book does not end with a major cliffhanger, but it does leave you wanting more of all these addictive characters!

My Rating:

I give, Fearless, by Devon Hartford 4.5 exciting, sexy, flirtatious, funny stars! I'm extremely happy I got to read and review Fearless and I can't wait to see what's next for Samantha and Christos! Amazing work by Devon Hartford! :)
