Book Summary:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Joanna Wylde comes a new story in her Reapers MC series…

Peaches Taylor spent the last seven years slinging drinks and dodging drunks at the Starkwood Saloon. Some might call it a dead end job, but to her it was an investment—another six months, and she’d have enough money to buy the place.

Life would've been perfect if Eli hadn’t come home.

Eli King is ready to settle down. He stood by his brothers when they needed him, paying the price for their freedom with his own. Now it’s time to claim his reward—the Starkwood Saloon. He’s got the cash to buy the bar, the skills to run it, and just one person standing between him and his dream: Peaches Taylor.

She’s been driving him crazy since they were kids, and not in the good way. When she was six, she shoved a spider down his pants. When he was ten, he locked her in a closet overnight. Then she hot-wired his car at seventeen, and things got ugly…

They’re adults now, and the Starkwood isn’t a toy to fight over—it’s the hill they’ll die on. No prisoners. No compromises. No mercy.

Peaches Taylor and Eli King are going to war.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

My Thoughts:

Every time I get a new Reapers MC book on my kindle, it's like a kid being told that they get to skip school, and go to Disneyland for the day!  I have mad love for the Reapers MC Series, and every single book in this series is excellent!  Right before I even began reading Eli's Triumph, I thought about how excited I was to read it, but at the same time how I really wanted to savor it, because I knew I'd be sad once it ended!

Eli King has just spent five years in prison for a murder he didn't commit.  Instead, he took the fall, out of the love and loyalty he has for the Reapers MC.  Now that he's out early, Eli's looking forward to owning and running, the Starkwood Saloon, which he was promised, by his Uncle Gus and fellow Reapers.

However, when Eli was away, there were no guarantees that he would make it out of prison anytime soon.  So unbeknownst to him, Uncle Gus, made arrangements with Peaches Taylor to own and run the saloon.  Peaches never knew about the prior arrangement made between Gus and Eli.  When she finds out that Gus is no longer selling her the Saloon that she has been busting her butt to run the last several years, (and is selling it to Eli instead,) she is shocked, devastated, and livid!  She blames Eli for stealing her dream right out from under her.  Peaches and Eli have had a love/hate dynamic between them since they were small children.  Eli wants the saloon, and the girl! He knows that Peaches is the one for him, but can he convince her of that?

I loved Eli and Peaches' story!  No matter how hard Peaches tried to push him away, they would always find their way back to each other; as if by a strong magnetic pull!  These two came in to each others lives when Peaches was just five, and Eli, seven years old.  Ms. Wylde did a great job of giving us their dual perspectives, and glimpses in to their long history, by flashing between the past and present.

As the reader, I loved being privy to everything that happened behind the scenes.  Through these flashbacks, we see that Peaches and Eli have always had a complex relationship.  Peaches was jealous of Eli as a child, but also drawn to him.  Eli was protective of Peaches, always watching out for her, and loved pushing her buttons, and igniting her fierce and fiery temper!  These two were loyal to one another, and their chemistry was off the charts!

Eli and Peaches drove each other crazy, but also cared so deeply for one another.  This made for an entertaining, fast-paced romance, with so much build-up, that I was dying for these two to get together!  There were also sweet elements to the story, in the way that Eli and Peaches were loyal and protective towards one another, and always their for each other.  We get quick glimpses of a few characters from the Reapers MC series, but the focus is on Eli and Peaches.  You can definitely read this story as a standalone.  If you want an off the charts sexy, entertaining and riveting MC read, look no further!

Book Excerpt:

“Eli?” she asked, sounding confused. “Why are we talking about Eli?”

“He’s been watching me.”

“Um, I think he’s just drinking a beer,” Megan said. “Maybe checking out your boobs a little, but that’s nothing new.”

Hmm… It couldn’t possibly be that simple, but it did give me an idea. Maybe it was time to create a diversion. I shifted my shoulders, expanding my chest.

Disappointingly, his eyes stayed on mine.

“Someday I’m gonna own this bar, and firing his ass is the first thing I’ll do.”

Megan giggled. “That sounded sort of super-villain-ish. Do you have a lair? I wish I had a lair…”

I blinked, caught off guard. I hadn’t realized that I’d said the words out loud. Eli smirked at me, gloating because he’d just won our little pissing contest. Dammit!

“I can’t believe I wrote to him in prison,” I told her, turning my back on the bikers. “Never should’ve been nice to him. He probably thinks that, deep down inside, we’re friends or something. We’re never going to be friends.”

“Didn’t he give you a ride home after work last night?” she asked, her voice light.

 “Gus made him,” I snapped.

“And did Gus make him hug you the other day?”

“He caught me and gave me a noogie. And it hurt, too. It’s not a hug if it leaves bruises.”

“He left bruises?” Megan asked, startled. Shit. I might be able to justify a rumor about him not being able to get it up, but telling her that he’d hurt me for real…yeah, that probably crossed a line.

“No,” I admitted. “That was an exaggeration. But he’s still pure evil, so don’t fall for his shit. Or sleep with him. Every time a waitress sleeps with him, she ends up quitting without notice. Then I have to cover their shifts.”

Megan nodded, looking a little uncomfortable. “Okay, then… Um, I think I’ll go check the bathrooms. Make sure there’s no ugly surprises before things start getting busy.”

“Great idea,” I told her, and she scuttled off. Then I reached for a washcloth because I had lemon juice to clean up. Then I’d have to go back over there and check on them. See if they wanted more… Eli would, I could already tell. Not because he was big on drinking, though.

He just wouldn’t be able to resist an opportunity to order me around.

My Thoughts:

The Reapers MC Series delivers every time!  I can't sing this series enough praises!  Joanna Wylde writes entertaining, suspenseful, thrilling, and erotic romance!!!

In Reaper's Fire, we get Gage and Tinker's story told through their alternating point of views.  We got an alluring introduction to their story in Reaper's Fall, and I was excited to dive into what promised to be another great addition in to the Reapers MC Series.

The story begins with a devastating life event that leads Tinker to take steps to end her long-term marriage.  She leaves Seattle for her hometown of Hallies Falls when her father's health takes a turn for the worse.  As she is running her family's apartment building, she finds herself in need of a handyman.

Gage has volunteered to go undercover in Hallies Falls, so that he can infiltrate the local MC, which they believe is skimming profits off the top from the Reapers MC. Unfortunately, in order to get close to the MC, Gage has to form a false identity, and get an introduction by being with Talia Jackson, the head of the MC's sister.  He becomes Tinker's handyman, and rents an apartment from her.  As these two spend time together, they find themselves falling for each other.  Unfortunately, secrets, lies, and danger are obstacles that stand in their way....

Reaper's Fire was one sexy and wild ride!  The chemistry between Gage and Tinker was explosive.  Every interaction between these two characters was an aphrodisiac.  Add in the suspense and danger of MC Club life, excellent primary and secondary characters, and you have a winning combo for a great story.

My Rating:

I give, Reaper's Fire, by Joanna Wylde, 4 Intense, Sexy, Passionate, Heart-Pounding Stars!!!  If you enjoy MC Club Romance, the Reapers MC Series needs to be at the top of your TBR list!

Book Summary:

He never meant to hurt her.

Levi “Painter” Brooks was nothing before he joined the Reapers motorcycle club. The day he patched in, they became his brothers and his life. All they asked in return was a strong arm and unconditional loyalty—a loyalty that’s tested when he’s caught and sentenced to prison for a crime committed on their behalf.

Melanie Tucker may have had a rough start, but along the way she’s learned to fight for her future. She’s escaped from hell and started a new life, yet every night she dreams of a biker whose touch she can’t forget. It all started out so innocently—just a series of letters to a lonely man in prison. Friendly. Harmless. Safe.

Now Painter Brooks is coming home… and Melanie’s about to learn that there’s no room for innocence in the Reapers MC.

My Thoughts:

I've been waiting not so patiently for Painter and Melanie's story!  As anyone who reads our blog knows, I am a huge fan of Joanna Wylde's, Reapers MC Series.  I love all of these characters, and have been following their storylines since the very first book in the series.

Levi "Painter" Brooks had a dysfunctional and rough childhood.  He was bounced around in the foster care system, and in and out of juvenile hall at a young age.  Then, he met a member of the Reapers MC Club, who took him under his wing, and made him a part of the brotherhood.  The Reapers are the only family that Painter has ever known, and he's pledged his loyalty to them.  The only things that matter to Painter are his brothers and his artwork.

However, things change when he meets Melanie Tucker. They spend a short time as friends, and then Painter is incarcerated for a year.  During that time, Melanie and Painter exchange numerous letters, and develop a crush on one another.  Yet, when Painter returns home, he keeps his distance from Melanie, because he doesn't want to drag her down, and he believes that she deserves better than him.

Melanie is extremely close to London and her niece, Jessica.  London is involved in a serious relationship with "Picnic," The Reapers President.  Therefore, Painter and Melanie find themselves in close proximity with one another time and time again.  Painter staying away from Melanie proves to be impossible.  As these two fall in love, the possibility of them having a relationship is tested repeatedly.  Melanie needs to be a top priority to Painter, and not second to the club.  Painter keeps putting himself in bad situations, and risking himself and Melanie's trust.  Will Painter have to choose between The Reapers and Melanie?  Or, will these two find a way to be happy together?

Reaper's Fall was full of hot alpha males, dangerous enemies, and plot twists.  The pacing of the story was rapid, as this story was chock full of suspense, rough and raw sexiness, and an excellent primary and secondary cast of characters.  Ms. Wylde writes the best biker romance, and I love all of her stories.  I'm looking forward to seeing whose story is next!

My Rating:

I give, Reaper's Fall, by Joanna Wylde, 4 Passionate Love Hate Relationship, Raw Sex-Appeal, Dangerous Enemies, Close-Knit Reaper Family Filled Stars!

Book Excerpt:

“You want to watch a movie or something?” she asked, nodding toward the TV. I had a decent one, too. Giant-ass flat-screen—homecoming present from the club.

“Sure,” I said, reaching for the remote. I didn’t have cable, but Ruger had set up some kind of box thingie for me so I could stream shit. “Whatcha in the mood for?”

“Not horror,” she said quickly, and I laughed again, remembering that first evening I’d spent with her at Pic’s house. She’d been so young and scared and vulnerable . . . I’d wanted to eat her up.

I still wanted to eat her.

“I can’t believe that you and Puck were supposed to be watching over me, and then you put in a slasher movie. That’s not how you make a girl feel safe.”

“No horror,” I agreed, although the thought of holding her for a couple hours while she was scared shitless appealed way more than it should. Watch it, asshole. “How about Star Wars?”

“You like Star Wars?”

I shrugged. “Everyone likes Star Wars. You know, I’m pretty damned sure Han Solo was a biker.”

She giggled. “You mean, like a space biker?”

“See, when you say it like that it sounds stupid.”

“I wanted to be Princess Leia. She’s badass,” she said, taking a deep drink of her beer. I watched as her lips wrapped around the neck, her throat swallowing. Oh fuck, that was good. She set the beer down on the coffee table with a clink, then let loose with the biggest burp I’d ever heard.

“Fucking hell,” I said, stunned. “I didn’t think girls could burp like that. Shit. Impressive, Mel. Very impressive.”

She grinned at me.

“We’re friends,” she told me. “And friends don’t need to worry about stuff like that. Let me guess—you’ve never had a female friend before?”

“Not really,” I admitted. “I’m think I’m a little scared.”

Scared and turned on, which was weird.

“You should be. I can do the whole alphabet.”

Damn. I kinda wanted to see that.
