Stacking the Shelves & Sunday Post (36)

Hosted by:  Tynga's Reviews
Hosted by:  Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

This week was very busy!  I finished both The Kiss Quotient and The Bride Test by Helen Hoang and loved them!  They were both five star reads for me, and now I'm suffering a major book hangover!  I prepared for a meeting with my daughter's school, researching special education law, and unfortunately it took up the majority of my free time, but I'm glad to say that the meeting went well. This week was extremely hot.  It was in the 90's where I live, and felt a lot more like summer than Spring!  I'm looking forward to getting a lot more reading in next week!

Last Week on the Blog:

Blogger Love:

*Dani@ Perspective of a Writer discusses, How to Stop Procrastinating Reviews, and gives us several insightful and helpful tips on how to help with this problem.

*Teresa@ Readers Live a Thousand Lives, does a feature called Recent Reads, where she uses an app called Bookly.  I downloaded this app and it makes infographics for each book you read, with your personal book stats!  I love it!  Here's my first one:

*Sam@ We Live and Breathe Books posted the discussion topic, Take a Chance on Me, and discusses why she is so willing to give a new author a go.  It got me to thinking about how I rely on my favorite auto-buy authors for most of my reading material, but why it is important to branch out and give new authors a chance.

  1. Sounds like a great reading week! Two five star reads? Who doesn't love that?! I had my first DNF this week in, I think probably three years. But I'm proud I stopped reading instead of forcing myself to continue! Life is way to busy to waste on books I don't seem to like. :)
Have a great week and happy reading!

  2. Yay for studying up and having a good productive meeting. I still need to read both those Hoang books. I can well believe they were five-stars for you. That is a very cool stats app.

    Have a good week, Lindy!

  4. I read the Kiss Quotient. I'll have to read the Bride Test. What I liked about Kiss Quotient was the formula the main character had in mind to achieve love. A lot of logic and thinking does need to be put into place with finding the 'right one.'

Enjoy the warm weather and your new books.

  7. Glad to hear your meeting went well! That must be a relief.

It's been really warm in Southern California too! Upper 80s & 90s. In Palm Springs, where I'm at right now is even hotter!

I'm happy to hear The Bride Test was also a 5 star read. I'm picking it up very soon. :)

  8. I think that you did the right thing by researching before the meeting at your daughter's school and I'm glad to hear that it went well.

Two 5 star reviews this week, Lindy! It's a great feeling when you get to read a really great book, isn't it?!

Hope you have a great week next week too. x

  15. Special Education laws are extremely complicated it seems at first. There is a lot to cover. I hope your meeting went well. I've been seeing a lot about The Bride Test and it makes me interested in both books! ❤️
