Review:

Turn of the Moon, by L.P. Dover, was exactly what I needed to get me back to reading paranormal romance. I have been reading mostly YA, NA and Adult Contemporary Romance for the past two years. I got addicted to paranormal romance a few years back, but I slowly let it go when I started reading contemporary romance. I’m so happy that I finally read a paranormal romance. I wanted something different from my usual picks. I either would read vampire or angels books. I decided to take a chance on a shifter book and I really liked it! L.P. Dover did a fantastic job with the first installment of The Royal Shifters series.

When Bailey learns that the life she’s been living is all based on lies she runs. Far away from her pack she finds comfort in Ryker’s arms. Their chemistry is undeniable and the bond that unites them is strong. Danger is lurking in the shadows and secrets will be revealed. Will their love be strong enough to survive once the truth is revealed? Prepare to be transported into a world filled with magic, action packed battles and two men fighting over Bailey. This is not a love triangle. One man will win her heart, the other one will try to destroy her.

I really enjoyed this book. The connection that I feel towards the characters is very important. I connected instantly with Ryker, but I struggled with Bailey. She’s a kickass heroine, but I just did not like the way she reacted to some situations. I have to admit that by the 50% mark, I was totally hooked and I could not wait to see how she would react to everything that was happening around her. I did end up liking Bailey by the end of the book. She really grew has a character and I was happy that I did not give up on her.

With Ryker it was a totally different story. I loved him from the moment he was introduced in the story. He’s a sexy alpha male that will make your heart melt. I loved how he was protective of Bailey and his pack. He’s an incredible leader and you could see that Bailey and his friends were his entire world. Ryker had some difficult decisions to take. His love for Bailey was strong and to keep her out of danger he put his life and the lives of the people he loves at risk.

The chemistry between Bailey and Ryker was super hot! These two were destined to be together and nothing would get in their way to finding their HEA. I loved how the author wrote the fighting scenes between the packs and how it was easy to being transported into their world. I felt like I was a part of the action and this story kept me on the edge of my seat quite a few times.

I loved all the secondary characters that made this story even more captivating. They all had a significant role in Bailey and Ryker’s journey. It was fascinating to learn about these characters. I’m happy I gave this book a chance. This was a fantastic paranormal reading journey and I can’t wait to see who will get their story next!

  2. Sounds like an exciting read! I don't think I've read many shifter novels - I used to read a lot of paranormal romance, but I haven't in awhile.
