Review:

Under the Lights, by Shannon Stacey, was such a sweet and romantic reading escape! This was my first time reading a book written by this author. I have heard many great things about her Kowalski Family series so I was really excited to read the first book in the Boys of Fall series. I love small town romance novels. They always bring a huge smile to my face and make me happy!

In Under the Lights, we follow Kelly McDonnell and Chase Sanders. When Chase receives a call from Stewart Mills, on the worst day of his life, the last person he expects to hear from was Kelly McDonnell. When she explains the reason of her call it takes him no time to pack up his bags and leave behind the mess that is his life. Fourteen years have come and gone, but going back to Stewart Mills brings back good memories for Chase. Reuniting with Coach McDonnell and his high school friends is exactly what he needed. What he did not expect was for Kelly to steal his breath away.

Kelly McDonnell always had a secret crush on Chase Sanders. He was close with her family when he was a teenager and because her dad was the coach of the football team she kept her feelings to herself. Now that Chase is back in her life, she's ready to take a walk on the wild side. The more time they spend together, the more they can't control the intense chemistry between them. Will Chase be able to go back home and never look back or will Kelly give him a reason to come back to Stewart Mills?

This was such a great reading journey! Kelly and Chase were amazing, fun and lovable characters to follow. I connected with them from the beginning of the story. They had a slow building romance, but their chemistry was instant. I had so much fun reading about their story. It was romantic, fun, sexy and even heartbreaking sometimes. I have to admit that Chase broke my heart on one occasion. I was ready to jump in the book and go slap some sense into him!! lol!!! I honestly loved both these characters and the author did a phenomenal job with both of them. I appreciated all the little details she included in the story. It was easy to relate to their story and I was cheering for them to find their HEA together.

I love how the author wrote this story! Each of these individuals had one goal, which was to save the football team. Even if this is Kelly and Chase's story, I was blown away by how this little town came together to save the football team. All the supporting characters were great and they all brought their little touch of awesomeness to the story. My favorites were coach McDonnell and his wife. I absolutely loved them!!!

The Boys of Fall series is off to a fantastic start! The next book in the series will be Defending Hearts, which will be Gretchen and Alex's book. I can't freakin' wait!!! I loved Gretchen and Alex to pieces in Under the Lights!! I read a little sneak peek of Defending Hearts at the end of Under the lights and I already know that I will absolutely love it! I have no doubt that Gretchen's grandmother will steal my heart in this book! Teehee!!

Rating:

I give Under the Lights, by Shannon Stacey, 4 page-turning, charming, lovable, heartwarming stars!

  1. I haven't read anything by this author either. I love the idea of Small Town romance b/c of how connected all the characters are.
