Summary
Living in a mansion with three hot dudes could be any girl’s dream…it’s just not Kira Wilson's. Not when Alex Dumont is one of them.

Other girls know him as A1pha, a beautiful, arrogant pro gamer and newly minted billionaire. Kira knows him as an ex crush and a major pain in the butt. But he’s also an old friend and gaming buddy, and when she needs to hide from her abusive ex, she knows that Alex and his roommates Ethan and Ollie (her former gaming teammates) are the right friends to depend on.

Despite the rocky history between them, Kira knows Alex is right when he states that no one can protect her better than he can. Kira's just not sure that physical safety is worth the danger the grudge-holding, haunted, and utterly delicious pro gamer poses to her heart.

But with her ex hot on her trail, and Alex looking at her in a way that’s hard to resist, she'd better figure it out soon.

Important note from the author!
A1pha Episode 1 is the first novella in a three part planned new adult romance series about Kira Wilson and her three hot, nerdy housemates. Each installment is a little over half the length of my typical novels, with an intense cliffhanger at the end. Hope you enjoy!

Psycho Ex, Nerds, Gamers, Oh My!

If you are looking for a quick, addictive read Play Me is a perfect fit. This book is full of delightful quirky characters. Beware… when I said addictive I meant it. Get ready to just go ahead and buy the whole set. It’s a zip of a read and there is a cliffhanger but the second is available and trust me when I say you will want to read it right away.

Who doesn’t love nerdy sexy gamers? This delightful cast will catch your attention and keep it throughout the novella. A1pha is the main guy who has some reservations about Kira. The novella is told from her point of view and I will say there are a lot of misunderstandings and miscommunications that have brought her to this point. Running from a dangerous situation forces Kira to face some mistakes from her past. Nothing severe or dark the dangerous situation Kira was running from was certainly dangerous but it isn’t a focus point at all. If anything I thought it was washed over? Like Kira doesn’t talk about it ever there are just hints and mentions but I never felt like it was an important part of the story. Kira and A1pha have an intense chemistry that will have you panting for more but Ashcroft keeps it classy. There’s no hanky spanky going on in this Novella.

There are four total novellas I’m currently on the fourth. I felt as though I needed more information on the characters and the story in order to give an accurate recommendation. Or is it that I loved them and couldn’t get enough? Lol…Yea it’s probably the latter. The characters are full of banter and are super relatable. If you are a nerd or have a nerd friend you will especially love this read. Like I said don’t expect any soul touching deep earth shattering anything. The first installment answers several questions and asks more. Get the popcorn ready and dive into this series!

My Rating
4.0 Rain, Couch, Ex, Mansion, Friendships, Super Smash, Job, Lightning, Tickle, Shiner, Con, Car, Garage, Intense toe curling, Heart Capturing Kiss filled stars.

  1. I haven't read one about gamers. Sounds like she's all set with gamers, mansion, and a smoldering Alpha. ;)

  2. Great review Ria. I read this one a long time ago, before the others were released and remembered really enjoying it. The ending left me gasping!

  3. Oh. Gamers. Old crush. Close quarters. I'm thinking I like the sound of all of it but the cliffhanger endings. Guess one needs all three before one starts at all.
