Supernatural Branch of Law Enforcement empath Ella Walsh sucks memories from people’s heads. The job fills her mind with others’ nightmares and leaves her with little time for love, but if she doesn’t pair off with a mate of the government’s choosing soon, the psychic blowback will destroy her powers and her sanity.

The last time shapeshifting SBLE superstar Vadim Morosov worked with an empath, he got her killed and himself assigned to a desk. He worries about taking on another partner, but helping Ella track down an empath killer might be his only chance to save his career.

Naturally, the government decides to throw them together…

They resist at first, but they can’t deny the simmering heat between them. As the killer’s strikes grow closer to home, their bond gets tighter. And when the murderer finally traps Ella, her developing link with Vadim might be the only thing that can save her

The Way I See It

Woo!!! Yea!! ERMERGERSH!!! What an amazing world Ms. Pearce has built! So well constructed and put together. I loved reading this book very much! I am a HUGE paranormal fan... Let me just tell you! Well y'all know that, BUT Soul Sucker Solidifies my love for this wonderful genre. I was sucked in from the beginning and fighting sleep through the night. I became as involved at solving the case as the characters. Thrilling to the end! No rAgrets! Not even a single letter :)

S-olitude, Vadim cannot trust anyone. Everything he once knew has changed.
O-utcast, Ella longs to fit in but her gift/curse has always kept her away from those she loves.
U-nwilling, to accept what each other can do Ella and Vadim fight themselves and their desires.
L-iaison, working together and being together are two things neither saw coming. Circumstances have forced these two to embrace their feelings.

S-how, hiding what has occurred becomes their utmost priority. One cannot be without the other. Keeping up pretenses will become a difficult task.
U-nlock, finding a pattern leads the murderer to Ella’s doorstep. Unbeknownst to anyone this will be another great challenge.
C-hilling, all of the facts have been drawn out. Ella is closer than she knows to the person they seek.
K-iller, Ella has been found and is trapped. Does she have the will power to fight and overcome this evil?
E-nveloped, by so much power, Ella begins to understand what ticks beneath Vad’s immaculate facade.
R-esigned, knowing what their hearts now know they must do what it takes for one and other.

Alpha males watch out! Vad is one bad mother effer! ;) In other world and in San Fran this guy kicks butt. I loved all of the characters. The secondary characters were entertaining and jived very well with the story. There is a lot of information but you wont even notice it because the writing is seamless. If you enjoy paranormal you’ll enjoy this!!

My Favs

Vadim
Yowza!! This guy is carrying MAJOR baggage. What the heck happened is anyones guess. Lol, nah you’ll guess it straight away..Vad however remains a mystery. We get bits and pieces but there is more out there and I am looking forward to it! Seriously, Vad is super animalistic, charming and aloof not to mention yummy! Watching him fall in love with Ella was fantastic. Okay, so no one has dropped the L word but, man, their passion is out of this world. He handles Ella perfectly. I can’t wait to see whats in store for these two.

Ella

If Ella was a recipe you would get

AWESOMESAUCE!
I’m no chef but what I do know is this little blonde will latch on to you and take you for a fun ride! She is kind and nice and she loves deeply... BUT what we(SBLE and Vad) get is a cute little prickly, prickly pear :) She feels like her doom is down the road and thus she refuses to live any other way than what makes her happy. Though the relationship she has with her family is strained, she loves her brothers very much. Ella is who she is. Take it or leave it she doesn’t care. I love that about her!! Seriously love it!

My Wish

I super secretly fell in love with Ella’s little neighbor. I hope we get to see some more of him and his development. OH OH and what's up with the head of SBLE? What is his lineage? Oh most absolutely I want to know more about VADIM!!

My Rating

4.5 Sunflower, SanFran, Stalker, Russian, Jelly donuts, Broken portal, Last Dance, Fae Web, Rossi, Broken Elevator, Party rendezvous, Little Swan, Otherworld Filled stars!! For a fun paranormal, check out this book!!

  3. Ria, I'm gonna have to find a way to clone myself in order to keep up with all the tempting reads you introduce me to that gets added to my TBR/wishlist:) Soul Sucker sounds like a sexy riveting start to a fascinating new series. I'm always on the prowl for hotties to add to my harem and Vadim Morosov sounds like a prime candidate!
