GR's Summary

Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

Wait for You, was such a beautiful and sensual love story!  J. Lynn has an amazing talent for creating strong, well-rounded characters' with depth, and she always pulls me into her stories.  I was addicted to reading this book!  I could not put it down, and as the end grew closer, I wasn't ready for it to end! Yet, I kept reading, because I could not resist reading this story straight through in one sitting.  I devoured this book!  My only concern, was that there were some editing problems with typos, and sentence structure.  However, this did not take away from the amazing content in the story.  Now that I've finished, "Wait for You," I'm sad that it has ended, and don't know how I am going to deal with having to wait months, before I get to read the sequel!  Talk about torture!!!!

Wait for You, by J. Lynn had a similar storyline to many New Adult Contemporary-Romance Novels, that I have read.  However, what made this story unique was the characters.  Cameron (Cam), was such an amazing character!  I LOVED his personality, and fell head over hills for him quickly.  Yes, he was drop-dead gorgeous, with his dark wavy hair, his penetrating blue eyes, the one dimple in his cheek that stood out whenever he smiled, his soccer player's physique, and tattoo, but there was so much more to him.  Sigh...  As you can imagine, I had a beautiful image of him in my mind...  However, what stood out for me was his amazing personality, and huge heart.  He was a hilarious character, that had me laughing out loud with his snarky comebacks, when him and Avery were constantly bantering back and forth.  He had a huge amount of confidence, (which he had every right to have) he knew that he was a looker, and was used to girls constantly throwing themselves at him.  I also loved his insinuations, they were always so much fun.  For example, he gave Avery cookies, and told her that he only let pretty girls eat his cookies.  When she asked him if cookies stood for something else, he told her, well just think whatever they stand for, they've been in your mouth.  Cam was so entertaining, and I could see why he was so popular, and always surrounded by people.  He brought a lot of laughs, and humor to the story, and brought out a softer, lighter, happier, side in Avery.  Cam healed her, and helped her to become whole again.  He gave her unconditional friendship, loyalty, and support.  He also had so much caring, compassion, and a big heart, when it came to Avery.  He was gentle with her, was patient with her constantly pushing him away, treated her with respect, made breakfast for her every Sunday, and was determined to get her to go out with him.  Cam and Avery spent so much time being strictly friends, that slowly but surely, they fell in love with each other, before either of them even realized it.

Avery was a complex character, and I loved her.  She had been victimized in her past, and still held on to the fear, anxiety, and anger from what happened to her.  She carried it everyday with her, and the burden was so heavy, that instead of truly living and enjoying her life, she was just surviving.  She was such a genuine and unique character.  She was awkward, and jumpy with Cam at the beginning, and had great difficulty with trusting him or anyone for that matter.  Avery had an innocence about her.  She had never had a boyfriend, been on a date, or even been kissed, and she was nineteen years old.  It was exciting reading about all of Avery's "firsts" with Cam.  Through Avery's perspective, I felt like I was experiencing, the first time they hung out, kissed, went on a date, celebrated Valentine's Day, and were intimate.  Even though I felt bad for Cam because Avery constantly pushed him away, and said "no" when he asked her out, I understood why she did what she did.  I was so glad that Cam was very persistent, and never gave up on getting her to go out with him.

The secondary characters were just as fun to read about, and since Wait for You is a series, I'm hoping that each of these characters will get the opportunity to become more fully developed, tell their own story, and shine!  I'm also hoping that, J. Lynn, continues to give us glimpses into Cam and Avery's relationship in the other books in the series, even if they are not the focus of the sequels.  The secondary characters were Cam's sister, Teresa, his friends Ollie, Jace, and Avery's friends Jacob, and Britt.

Wait for you, is a book you do not want to wait to read!  If it's on your TBR, move it to the top, and if it's not, add it immediately!  All of you, New Adult Contemporary Romance readers, are going to love this story, and it's J. Lynn, so you can't go wrong!   "Wait for You," would be perfect on the big screen, and you will feel like you are watching a movie.  That's how clear the images will come to mind with J Lynn's amazing talent for detail, and her beautiful descriptions!  I enjoyed the plot, was highly entertained, (glued to this book) and was amazed at J. Lynn's ability to take a common story theme, and make it her own, by giving it a unique twist!  She has a special ability with words, and everything that she writes tends to be amazing!  Read, "Wait for You!"  Then, you can thank me for this recommendation!  ;)

I give Wait for You, by J. Lynn 4.5 Overwhelmingly beautiful, bright, dazzling, and dancing, Night Stars, located in the Corona Borealis!  This is a beautiful love story, and if you are a romantic at heart, you will fall madly, and deeply in love with Cam, and this amazing story.  If you would like to read a character-driven, fast-paced story, this is the one for you!  I highly recommend it, and am highly anticipating reading the sequel in this series, which I hear will be featuring Cam's sister.  Yay!!!  I cannot wait, and I already have high hopes of who I want her to end up with!!!

"F**k, Avery.  You think I don't want you?  His voice came out low, almost a growl.  There's not a single part of you that I don't want, you understand?  I want to be on you and inside of you.  I want you against the wall, on the couch, in your bed, in my bed, and every f***ing place I can possibly think of, and trust me, I have a vast imagination when it comes to these kinds of things.  Don't ever doubt that I want you.  That is not what this is about."  (Nook, 202)

"I'm not drunk.  He pressed his forehead to mine, chuckling softly.  Yeah, I can see that and while the idea of taking you right now, against the wall, is enough to make me lose control, I want you to know that I'm serious. You're not a hook up.  You're not a friend with benefits.  You're more than that to me."  (Nook, 212)

"Maybe not perfect, but life wasn't meant to be perfect.  It was messy and sometimes it was a disaster, but there was beauty in the messiness and there could be peace in the disaster."  (Nook, 286)

  1. I liked this book…but it was WAAAAAY too much like Hopeless and Callie and Kayden (which are two of my faves). If it weren’t for Cam this would have been a 2 star book for me cause it was kind of like déjà-vu for me.

    1. It was very similar, and Ria even drew some similarities between it and The Sea of Tranquility. I know that Cam is what made he story for me! I just loved his teasing and back and forth bantering with Avery. That was why I loved this story so much.
