My Thoughts:

Jennifer Armentrouts' novels always make me giddy!  Like a child with my favorite candy, I devour her books!  Packed with so many feels, her stories are truly a moving emotional experience for me.  This is why she is one of my favorite authors.  Each of her stories is unique, but no less alluring and beautiful.  I have loved the Wait for You Series, but Fire in You is my favorite.   It was a deeply touching story, that was packed with so many swoons and feels.

In Fire in You, we finally get Jillian and Brock 'The Beast' Mitchell's story.  I have been highly anticipating and impatiently waiting for this story!  Jillian has been a recluse for the last six years.  After a traumatic and horrific experience, her life was forever altered.  Robbed and shot in the face with a gun has left her with facial damage, and the loss of hearing in one ear.   After extensive reconstructive surgery, she is still self-conscious of the way she looks.

Jillian hasn't been truly "living" for the last several years.  After her childhood crush broke her heart and she got shot, she dropped out of college and moved away.  She rarely see's her friends and family, and her life consists of work and spending time with her anti-social cat, Rhage.  She's only been in one relationship, with a man that she was with because she was lonely.  When her father offers her a position as Assistant General Manager at his new mixed martial arts facility, (with great benefits and an amazing salary,) she says "yes."   Jillian decides that she wants to start "living" her life again, and is very excited about her new position.  

When she begins working at the new Lima Academy, she is shocked and very upset to learn that Brock is the new general manager.  Her parents purposely neglected to tell her this information, and her father lied saying that he was looking for a GM.  Jillian contemplates quiting her job, but quickly decides she'll be a professional, and avoid Brock aside from her professional duties.

Jillian's father, Andrew,  rescued Brock from an abusive home as a young child and trained him in MMA.  For many years, Jillian and Brock were very close, and everyone said that she was his shadow.  However, Jillian developed feelings for him, while he looked at her as no more than a little sister.  The night he broke her heart, she cut him out of her life, and hasn't talked to him since.  She is done being naive, and knows that the best way to protect her heart from being broken again, is to stay clear of Brock.  However, he has other plans.  

Brock misses the friendship that he had with Jillian.  She has been there for him more than anyone else, and no one knows him like she use to.  He feels a lot of guilt for what happened to Jillian, and is determined to make amends.  However, as he gets to know her as the woman that she now is, he can't help but fall in love with her more and more each day.  She is strong, sassy, and a true survivor.  Can he convince her to take a chance on love with him?

Fire in You was a phenomenal read.  Jillian wasn't the typical romance lead, and I loved her.  She was real, and relatable.  She had been through so much, and was truly courageous in trying to live again.  This story was told soley in her point of view, and she was a thoroughly flushed out character.  I felt empathy for her, and being inside her head made me feel so close to her.  I felt her fears, excitement, and hope.  I loved Jillian, and nobody deserved a happy ending as much as her.

Brock was an amazing character as well.  He was patient with Jillian.   He gave her space when she needed, but never gave up on her.  Brock was sweet, thoughtful, caring, compassionate, and aware of what Jillian needed.  He was a great friend to her, and I missed these two together immensely!  They were soul mates, and I was glad that I got to experience their reunion.     

My Rating:

Fire in You was a powerful story about survival, and making the decision to truly live.  Our heroine was courageous, and full of a fire that she wasn't even aware of.  We went on a journey of self-discovery right along with her.  The desire and sexual attraction that Jillian and Brock shared was palpable.  Yet, what they meant to each other was so much more.  Their love story was packed with "feels," and kept me rapidly turning the pages.  

Fire in You is a five star favorite, and on my top 10 best books of 2016.  I give, Fire in You, by Jennifer L. Armentrout, 5 Powerful, Full of Feeling, Deeply Touching, Beautiful, Fire Filled Stars!  I loved Jillian and Brock's story, and was so happy to be reunited with the rest of the Wait for You cast of characters!

My Thoughts:

I love all of the books in the Wait for You Series.  Each of these stories has touched my heart completely, and the characters mean a lot to me.  I have empathized with them, related to them, and grown to love them.  They feel so real to me, and in between each book in the series, I find myself missing them!

In Fall With Me, we get Roxy and Reese's story.  Roxy is a talented artist, who attends college part time for graphic design, and works as a bartender at Mona's bar.  She shoulders a lot of guilt from an accident that left her best friend, Charlie, in a long-term care facility.  She visits Charlie every Friday, brings him paintings, talks to him about her life, and reads to him.  

Reese is a dedicated police officer that is part of the swat team.  Growing up, Roxy and Reese were neighbors.  Roxy has had a crush on Reese since she was fifteen and he was seventeen.  About a year ago, Roxy and Reese finally hooked up.  However, due to a misunderstanding, and Roxy avoiding Reese, they haven't talked.  

Then, when Henry, the man that was responsible for Charlie's current state, is released out on parole, Reese approaches and warns Roxy.  He also lets her know that he has feelings for her, which changes things between them.  As Reese and Roxy embark on a relationship, Roxy fears getting her heart broken.  Will Roxy take a chance on love, or let it slip through her fingers? To top it off, Roxy's life is put in danger by a creepy stalker....

Fall With Me was an excellent story.  It made me feel so many emotions.  My heart broke for Roxy and having to see her best friend Charlie, as a shell of the person that he used to be.  I admired Roxy's strength, love, and loyalty.  I felt horrible for the guilt she harbored, and wanted to reach through the pages and make her feel better.  Reese was an excellent male lead.  He was very strong, protective, and heroic.  Yet, he was also very sweet, nurturing, and compassionate.  He was self-confident, but not cocky, and was very sexy.  The moments Reese and Roxy shared were sweet, meaningful, romantic, and red hot!

The suspense of a serial rapist, as well as Roxy's stalker, added a lot of suspense to the story.  The storyline kept my attention as I was trying to figure out who could possibly be staking Roxy.  It was such a treat having Cam, Avery, Jase, Teresa, Jax, and Calla grace some of the scenes in Fall With Me.  I love these characters so much, and couldn't get enough of them!

My Thoughts:

J. Lynn (Jennifer Armentrout), consistently writes stories that amaze me and make me feel so much, time and time again.  I know when I begin one of her stories, I will be completely hooked from the beginning, and not be able to put it down.  If you're ever in a reading slump, my suggestion is to read one of her books, you will be instantly pulled out.  However, a word of caution; you won't be able to just read one!!!  

Stay With Me was a brilliant addition to the Wait For You series.  J. Lynn crafted two unforgettable main characters, Calla and Jax.  Calla is good friends with the, "Hot Guy Brigade," and their significant others, especially, Teresa.  Yet, she knows she will never get a hot guy for herself.  You see, she has a horrible scar that runs down her face, that even her derma blend make-up can't hide.  When Calla goes to pay for her next semester's tuition, she is upset and beyond stressed when her bank card is declined.  She learns soon after that her alcoholic mother cleared out her accounts, and tanked her credit, by taking out loans in Calla's name.

So, Calla returns to her hometown, a place that she hasn't been in years.  You see, she has no place to live, and very little money to her name. She hopes to find her mother, Mona, and recover some of the money that she stole.  Instead, she learns that Mona has fled town, and is on the run from some very dangerous criminals, which in turn has placed Calla in danger.  When Calla goes to her mother's bar, she meets the bartender, Jax, a man that would fit quiet nicely in to the hot guy brigade.  She is surprised when he flirts with her.  When Jax finds out that she is in danger, he does everything to keep her safe and falls for her while doing just that.  However, Calla has many dark secrets from her past, and insecurities from the scar on her face, and others on her body.  How could a man as good looking as Jax ever want to be with a girl like her?

Whew!!!  The chemistry between Calla and Jax was off the charts.  I could feel it sizzling, and growing more intense as the story continued.  I loved how alpha male, protective, and reassuring Jax was when it concerned Calla.  These two made a great couple!  It was wonderful getting reunited with Cam, Avery, Jace, Teresa, Ollie, and Britt as well!  I really love this cast of characters, and have connected to them.

On a separate note, I was able to empathize with the way Calla felt about the scars on her face and body.  I understood how hard it was for her to feel desirable and attractive.  You see, I was hospitalized at one time, and have scars all over my hand, plus two amputated fingers, and scars all over my stomach.  When something like that happens; It really challenges society's and in turn one's own definition of beauty.  I applaud J. Lynn for giving us a less then flawless lead character.  Calla was a character that I could relate to, and I went through all of her fears and insecurities right along with her.  Her journey was also mine, and the way that Jax reassured her, and let her know that she was beautiful in his eyes, reminded me of how my husband makes me feel every day.

I give, Stay With Me, by J. Lynn, 5 Emotional, Realistic, Profound, Suspenseful, "Welcome Another Member of the Hot Guy Brigade," Filled Stars!!!  Read this story!  It is sure to make an amazing lasting impression, and leave a mark!

As I lay there, trying to swallow a loud, obnoxious yawn, I remembered something he’d said when we first met, about life being too short. I imagined he had firsthand experience with shortened lives while he was serving. That mentality came from experience. I got that now. Could even understand it, but there was something I didn’t understand.

“Why?” I asked. 

There was a beat. “Why what?” 

Jax sounded tired, and I should shut up or point out that I was now tired and could sleep, so he could leave. But I didn’t.                  “Why are you here? You don’t know me and . . .” I trailed off, because there really wasn’t anything left to say. 

A minute went by, and he hadn’t answered my question, and then I think another minute ticked on, and I was okay with him not answering because maybe he didn’t even know. Or maybe he was just bored and that was why he was here. 

But then he moved. 

Jax pressed against my back, and the next breath I took got stuck in my throat. My eyes shot open. The sheet and blanket were between us, but they felt like nothing. 

“What are you doing?” I asked. 

“Getting comfortable.” He dropped an arm over my waist, and my entire body jerked against his. “It’s time to sleep I think.”

“But—” 

“You can’t sleep when you talk,” he remarked. 

“You don’t need to be all up on me,” I pointed out.

“You’re not going anywhere,” he announced casually, as if he wasn’t holding me prisoner in the bed. 

Okay. The whole prisoner thing might be melodramatic, but he wasn’t letting me up. Not when he was getting all kinds of comfy behind me. 

Oh my God, this was spooning. Total spooning. I was spooning with an honorary member of the Hot Guy Brigade. Did I wake up in a parallel universe? “Sleep,” he demanded, as if the one word carried that much power. “Go to sleep, Calla.” This time his voice was softer, quieter. 

“Yeah, it doesn’t work that way, Jax. You have a nice voice, but it doesn’t hold the power to make me sleep on your command.” 

He chuckled. I rolled my eyes, but the most ridiculous thing ever was the fact that after a couple of minutes, my eyes stayed shut. I . . . I actually settled in against him. With his front pressed to my back, his long legs cradling mine, and his arm snug around my waist, I actually did feel safe. More than that, I felt something else—something I hadn’t felt in years. 

I felt cared for . . . cherished. 

Which was the epitome of dumb, because I barely knew him, but feeling that, recognizing what the warm, buzzing feeling was, I fell right asleep.

Lindy's Thoughts:

I am a huge fan of J.Lynn/Jennifer L. Armentrout's, and loved both Chase and Maddie's, as well as Chad and Bridgett's stories!  I have been dying to get my hands on Chandler, the eldest brothers' story.  The Gamble Brothers are some of J. Lynn's hottest leasing men, and each one of their stories will have you going weak in the knee's.

While Chase and Chad were considered womanizer's who didn't want to settle down, Chandler was very different from his brothers.  He wasn't running away from commitment, but rather towards it.  He had never met a woman who fascinated him enough to make him crave a relationship, but that all changed for him once Alana became a part of his daily life.  

Alana was introduced in Chad's story, and was known for being a shrewd woman.  She was uptight, kept a conservative appearance, and was known for having a set of  "brass balls" to rival any man's.  She put everyone in their place, and was use to being fully in control and in charge of every situation.  However, after receiving threats for a year that she has continually dismissed, Alana eventually realizes that she is in serious danger, when things begin to escalate.  She decides to hire Chandler Gamble to be her bodyguard.

Chandler has been intrigued by Alana ever since he met her.  He desires her, and while Alana is also attracted to him, she is determined to keep things between them strictly professional.  Chandler has his sites set on Alana, and when he decides she's the one for him, he will do everything it takes to make her his.

Chandler and Alana's story was very intriguing.  There was mystery and suspense in the story, as danger and threats lurked in every corner.  There was the sensuality and seduction that took place between Chandler and Alana, as well as the power struggle that continued to make things interesting between these two.  We got some very humorous and fun parts of the story as well.  It was great to see Chandler interact with his two brothers, Chase and Chad, and continue to learn what was happening in their lives.  I was thrilled to get to see Maddie and Bridget as well.  I love all of these characters so much.

I give, Tempting the Bodyguard, by J. Lynn, 4 Tender, Take Charge, Tantalizing Stars!!!  Read the Gamble Brothers Series if you are looking for fun, fast-paced, steamy hot reads, with swoon-worthy leading men, and strong leading ladies!

The Way Ria See's It:

What a way to end an amazing story 3 of the worlds sexiest guys finding love…Le sigh! Okay so who is my favorite Gamble Brother? Probably Chad, Chandler, and then Chase. These brothers have been through a lot! This book can be read as a standalone but just like any good chip, one Gamble brother is not enough. ;0) J. Lynn has another hit novel under her belt! This woman is a mastermind.

Tactful, Alana has always had a good head on her shoulders. Her career has always come first.

Eclipsed, working so hard all her life seems fruitless in the face of the danger looming by.

Misstep, the threats have become more heated and menacing following Alana clear across the country.

Prospect, Chandler’s life has become dry, his desires are no longer sparked, and he must find a way to break away from this rut.

Turmoil, Alana has to seek help, the fear has become too much; if only Chandler would believe her.

Insidious, a personal attack against Alana will pull Chandler out of his stupor.

Nightmare, frightened and alone, Alana doesn't understand how she ended up here.

I loved these stories all of the Gamble brothers brought something interesting and super duper sexy to the table. Was this an epic love story unmatched by anything else in the world? No, but it was fun, sexy, flirty and had a HEA! Eeep my fav! I highly, highly, recommend this series.

Brazen + J.Lynn = Perfect Reading Escape!

I’m a huge fan of J.Lynn and the Brazen Collection. When I’m in a book slump I know that I can turn to a J.Lynn or Brazen book for a guaranteed read that will please my bookworm heart ;) I read the previous books in the Gamble Brothers Series and I could not wait to read Alana and Chandler’s story. I knew that Chandler was going to be different from his brothers. Three deliciously addictive brothers that will leave you fanning yourself way after you have finished reading about them and the ladies that own their hearts. 

Alana needs a bodyguard. She can’t believe she has to turn to the one man who sets her world on fire. But, with anonymous life-threatening letters showing up constantly at her door, she has no choice but to ask Chandler for help. One encounter and he was mesmerized. What is it about Alana Gore that drives him crazy ? He can’t stop thinking about her. When she asks him for his help he hesitates at first because of his number one rule. He does not protect a client he wants in his bed. Simple rule, right ? Wrong ! The attraction he feels towards his brother’s ex-publicist is electrifying. He will stop at nothing to protect Alana and he has no problem showing her how crazy he is about her. 

Another amazing, sexy, addictive, well written book by J.Lynn! I loved Alana and Chandler ! What I also liked about this book is that I got to catch up with Maddie, Chase, Bridget and Chad. I love these two couples to pieces and it’s always fun when the author gives us a check-in. Compared to his two brothers, who did not want to commit for anything in the world, Chandler is all for a finding the one woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. Alana was introduced in Tempting the Player, which is the second installment of the series. She was quite the character! I think I even told her to take a chill pill while I was reading that book … lol!! I wasn’t sure I was going to connecte with her like I did with Maddie and Bridget. Boy was I wrong! She is totally the kind of heroine I love to cheer for. I loved how Chandler protected Alana, but mostly what made my heart melt is the way he declared his love to her and how he showed her that running away from what her heart desired was the wrong way to go.

After reading the three books in this series, I have to admit that Alana and Chandler are my favorite couple! Yup ! Don’t get me wrong, I loved the other two couples, but the chemistry between these two? Sweet baby Jesus!!! The tingle effect was on full mode while reading their story. The steamy scenes between were BLAZING HOT!!! *Fans Self* They are such a passionate couple! 

Overall, this book was steamy, romantic, fun and most of all, i twas the perfect reading escape ! Any single cousins out there we can read about? I sure hope so! ;)
