Synopsis:

The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn’t exactly make a good impression.

I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date.

He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice.

So I told him to mind his own damn business—his own tall, gorgeous, full-of-himself damn business—and went back to my miserable date.

When he walked by my table, he smirked, and I watched his arrogant, sexy ass walk back to his date.

I couldn’t help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.

When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out.

But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us—telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood.

My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.

When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I’d never see him again.

I mean, what were the chances I’d run into him again in a city with eight million people?

Then again…

What were the chances a month later he’d wind up being my new sexy boss?

“Sorry, I wasn’t looking where—”

I froze.

The sight of Chase standing there was almost enough to knock me over. I’d secretly hoped to see him, yet never thought I actually would. What are the chances? I did a double take, sure I was seeing things. But it was him all right, in the flesh. And what flesh it is. Standing there shirtless and wet—wearing nothing but a pair of low-slung swim trunks—he had me stuttering. Literally.

“Ch…Ch…Ch—” I couldn’t get the word out.

Of course, Chase didn’t miss a beat. He smirked and leaned in. “You do a cute train impression, Buttercup.”

He remembers me.

I shook my head, attempting to snap myself out of it. But it was no use. He was so tall, and I was so short, I had no choice but to stare at his body. Water trickled down his abs. I was mesmerized watching it speed up and slow down as it crossed the rippled lines of his six-pack.

Damn.

I cleared my throat and finally spoke. “Chase.”

I was pretty freaking proud of myself for getting that much out. He had a towel slung around his neck and lifted it to dry off his dripping hair, revealing even more flesh. His pectoral muscles were carved and perfect. And—oh, my God…is that… Holy shit. It is. His nipples were cold and erect, and one of them was….was…pierced.

Eeeeeeeeep!!! I'm so in love with Reese and Chase!

This is not my first time reading a book by Vi Keeland. I loved her previous books and I could not wait to start Bossman and meet these new characters. Vi Keeland always delivers!! Each book that I read from this author is an unforgettable reading escape that I usually end up reading over and over again! I had only read a few chapters of Bossman and I knew that this book was going to make it on my top books of 2016. Trust me when I say that you will not be able to resist this intoxicating couple and the author's phenomenal writing style.

Bossman is a standalone romance novel. This is the story of Reese Annesley and Chase Parker. When Reese meets Chase Parker for the first time, she knows he's all kinds of trouble. What she did not expect is for Chase to save her from her bad date. Before the end of the night, her feelings about the sexy stranger are definitely all over the place. Those feelings are about to get stronger when she gets a job opportunity at Parker Industries. The last thing Reese wants is an office romance with Chase. He's the boss and she should stay far away. However, Chase Parker has other plans and she's about to find out that what the boss wants the boss gets.

I wish I could find the words to describe how I feel about Reese and Chase. They have owned my heart from the first scene that they shared together. In that very specific scene, I could feel their connection grow. After that, the chemistry between them was explosive, their friendship was heartwarming and their love story turned out to be one of my all time favorites. A love story packed with many fun, swoony, emotional, sexy, steamy moments. OMG!! So many scenes that are *Fan Face* hot! They are the kind of couple I love to cheer for. Their banter was extremely addictive! I could not get enough of the ''Little stories'' that Chase would create. It was funny to see Reese's reaction to his stories and how she played along was the cherry on top of the cake. It was FANTASTIC!

If you have not read anything by Vi Keeland yet, you are seriously missing out! These books are amazing and I really hope that they make it on the big screen one day. To see Chase Parker on the big screen?!?! Gah!!! I can't even deal!! He's seriously one of the best book boyfriends in Book Town. He's sweet, funny, romantic and he's one fine dirty talker! He definitely deserves a spot on my Masters of Swoon list! Reese was a heroine that I absolutely loved! She's fun, confident, fierce and she's a little tease when it comes to her Bossman ;) If I were a character in Book Town, I would definitely be friends with Reese. She's such an amazing person! I loved the way she took care of Chase's heart once he revealed his past. She tried her best to bring him comfort. This couple was meant to be from the very beginning. Through their beautiful journey they not only fell in love, but they also found a way to write a new page together and let the past go.

I lifted my right hand, reaching for my iron stake out of instinct, even though I knew it would do no good against the prince.

“You shouldn’t do that.” His voice was deep with what reminded me of an English accent. “I know you want to, but it would be very, very unwise of you, Ivy.”

My hand twitched.

Creepy Prince smiled slightly. “Your friend has been very helpful.”

That got my hackles up. I slid my sunglasses onto my forehead and forced my tone to stay calm and level. “I’m sure she has. Speaking of Val, happen to know where I can find her?”

His lips curled in a semblance of a smile as he stepped closer. The prince was tall, taller than Ren, who was pushing six foot two. My entire back stiffened as I forced myself to hold my ground, even though every instinct demanded that I run and run super fast, because he had almost killed me once before. Correction. He would have definitely killed me if he hadn’t realized what I was and had, I guessed, healed me.

“I’ve been waiting for you,” he said, instead of answering my question, his pale blue eyes fixed on mine.

My hand curled into a useless fist. “That is extremely creepy to hear.”

That cold smile returned. “Why don’t we talk? There are seats across the way.”

“Yeah, that’s not going to happen.”

The slow smile increased but never reached his eyes. “Oh, I know it is.”

Fine hairs rose on my arms.

“What exactly can you do right now?” he said in the same coldly polite voice. “Refuse me?” Creepy Prince laughed, and it wasn’t a bad sound. Again, it was something that was just cold, as if he were mimicking what a human would do. “You can’t.”

“I can.” My palm itched to grab the thorn stake secured under my pant leg, but I held still. I might be reckless, but I wasn’t stupid.

“Really? I will have to beg to differ on that. You see, humans surround us. So many of them, and I have an extraordinary appetite.” His eyes appeared to glimmer as his gaze slithered from the top of my curly head down to my toes. “A rather impressive appetite for many, many things.”

“Okay. First off, ew.” My lip curled. “Secondly, I don’t want to hear about any of your appetites.”

One dark eyebrow rose. “Oh, but you should know that I could kill twenty of these humans in less than five seconds and feed on the rest, leaving them to believe that it was this little red-headed girl who murdered these innocent people.” His voice dropped even lower as he leaned in and icy air brushed my cheek. “You deny me this, those lives will be on your hands, little bird.”

Anger flushed hotly as my eyes met his. There wasn’t a single part of me that doubted anything he said. He had me. God, I hated to admit it, but he had me.
