Reviews on The Edge of Never HERE

Ro's Take on this Journey:

If in deed, you believe in fate, then you will believe in Ms. Redmerski's love story of these two soul mates, that met on a bus heading for nowhere.  The Greek mythology, and the undying love of Eurydice & Orpheus, and their perfect fit, is the shared premise associated with Andrew and Camryn. They each have one half of the whole of these two allusive, poetic lovers tattooed to their bodies.  The semblance being that one is not whole without their other half, and so goes the continuing love story of Andrew Parrish and Camryn Bennett.

The edge of Always is the sequel to the unforgettable novel, Edge of Never.  Let me begin by saying that Ms. Redmerski is a very talented and skilled writer.  She pulls you in so deep that you are under water and waiting for the riptide to pass.  Her prose are flawless, and her descriptions original and all consuming.  She puts it all on the table for you.  Every i is dotted and every t is crossed.  These books are a treasure filled with unforgettable characters that are multi-dimensional, and the reader gets both perspectives of the two main characters.

I loved how this second novel began with Andrew's perspective of him waking in the hospital.  It began where Edge of Never left off.  Camryn finds out she is pregnant, and she is quite frantic worrying about how the baby will affect their "free spirited," "by the seat of your pants," life style. Andrew doesn't seem to think that anything will change and reassures Camryn over and over again.  Camryn and Andrew are in Houston playing some gigs together, and Camryn is home sick.  They decide to go back to Raleigh to be back by her mom and her only friend, Natalie.  Andrew will do anything to make Camryn happy no matter what it takes.

This story reveals the loving, tender, sensitive, and intuitive side of Andrew.  He can read Camryn without her saying a word.  Once in Raleigh, fate steps in and hits Camryn and Andrew with another tragedy.  Camryn shuts down, and she her all consuming pain is so overwhelming that she cuts her self off from feeling.  Her past losses and disappointments catch up with her, doors she has never been able to close are suffocating her.  Camryn curses the God responsible for taking her happiness that always gets stolen from her.  She falls short and gets involved in a dangerous lifestyle.  Once Andrew realizes what is going on, he is desperate to find the answer to his dilemma.  Being the one of a kind guy that any girl would love to have worship them, Andrew takes Camryn away on one of their road trips, filled with free spirited, non-conforming lifestyle to reach her once again. They backpack to where it all really began for them, New Orleans.  They realize that you can't go back and recreate what was already a perfect moment in time.

This novel takes us on a trip of a lifetime.  There are obstacles, mistakes, wonders, and a trip of a lifetime.  There are so many walls that Andrew fights to tear down to get back the glimmer in his girls eyes, and will stop at nothing short of a miracle.  He will save her from the depths of her despair, because she is the other half of his soul.  Camryn is Andrew's one and only, his everything, his soul mate, and Camryn feels the same about Andrew. She loves him with all her heart and soul, and learns to live in the moment, instead of always living in fear and doubt.  Neither can live without the other, each needs the other in order to take their next breath. This novel is multi-generational, full of good, bad, and tragic occurrences.  You won't want to miss this prolific love story, filled with beautiful, romantic, erotic, tender sequences.  Ms. Redmerski creates watercolor sketches that will be imprinted in your memory.  The epilogue leaves the reader in a good place, ready and waiting for the next segment in this dynamic series.

I give, The Edge of Always, by J. A. Redmerski, 5-Prolificly Poetic, All Consuming Fated Soul Mates, Endless Love-Filled Stars!!!

Quotes:

"In that second of tragedy I was reminded about death all over again and how fast it sneaks up on a person."  "We can't control death," I say.  "There's nothing either of us can do to avoid it or to hold it off.  All we can control is how we live out lives before it comes for us.  So, let's promise each other things that we can hold true to no matter what."  (Kindle Loc-1814)

"Our tattoos touching.  Orpheus and Eurydice becoming whole again as we become one with each other."  (Kindle Loc-2105)

"Andrew has always amazed me. He amazed me with the way his mind worked.  The way he could look at me without saying anything and make me feel like the most important person in the world.  I've learned in my time with Andrew that it can also be a wonderful thing, and that usually when something happens that seems unfair, it's just Life's way of making room for better things to come."  (Kindle Loc-3649)

"A lot of people take fate for granted.  Some have everything they've ever wanted or needed right at their fingertips, but they abuse it.  Others walk right past their only opportunity because they never open their eyes long enough to see that it's there." (Kindle Loc-3822)

"You're everything to me, and I want you to stay strong and not let your fear of the past taint the path to our future."  (Kindle Loc-3831)

Mikki's Review:

The Edge of Always by J.A. Redmerski was PHENOMENAL! How many times do we wonder what happens after we turn the last page of a book? This is exactly what The Edge of Always is all about. When I read The Edge of Never I had a first class seat on that Greyhound bus with Camryn and Andrew. I was extremely happy when I found out that we were getting a second book in this series. I cried so much with Camryn. I wanted to hold her and tell her that everything would be fine. Everything ended for the better, but we find out in The Edge of Always that LOVE conquers any fear or obstacle that we may find along the way.

The Edge of Always takes place a few months after where The Edge of Never ended. I do suggest you read TEON before you read this one. You NEED to feel that incredible love story that Camryn and Andrew share. It's one of the most beautiful, powerful, heart-warming story that I have ever read. In this book, Andrew and Camryn's love is put to the test many times. Many difficult events come an interfere with their HEA. They have to chose where to live and the only place they can actually call home is the ROAD. On the road they LIVE in the moment. Each stop teaches them a lesson. After a tragic event, Camryn lives in a state of numbness. Andrew works hard to bring back the girl he fell in love with.

This book makes me want to get in my car with my husband and go discover the world. There are so many things to learn. I learned a lot with Camryn and Andrew's road trip. They made it fun, exciting and most of all they lived their life to the max! I am so glad that J.A. Redmerski decided to continue their story. We can identify easily to Camryn and Andrew. They are such a fun couple to follow and fall in love with. Andrew's love for Camryn is incredible! Sweet Jesus! The way he loves his girl ... Awwww!!! Holy Swoon! He's such an amazing man! My expectations were exceeded with this book. J.A. Redmerski wrote a perfect sequel to TEON. Camryn and Andrew hold a piece of my heart and I will never forget their fantastic love story.

I give The Edge of Always by J.A. Redmerski 5 powerful, sensational, sexy, emotional stars! You need to put this series on your TBR list ASAP! ;)

Lindy's Thoughts:

The Edge of Always by J.A. Redmerski was an epic love story!  It was beautiful, and brought out a vast array of my emotions.  The story spoke to me.  The message I got from it was, "You only live once," so make your own decisions, and have an adventure!  Don't get stuck in the monotony of daily life, and the mundane tasks that can easily become your whole existence.  Things such as taking care of kids, working the same 9-5 job everyday, and getting too comfortable and/or bored with your life.

The story begins with Camryn and Andrew in Texas.  Camryn starts to feel depressed, and bored living in Texas, and worries now that she's pregnant, her and Andrew won't be able to travel the world and have the adventure they both wanted in their lives.  Andrew is excited about the baby, and is sure they are having a little girl, and he wants to name her Lily.

Camryn has been feeling sad, and she really misses her mother, and best friend Natalie.  Andrew wants Camryn to be happy, so the two of them relocate to Camryn's hometown of Raleigh.  Unfortunately, tragedy strikes, and instead of Camryn dealing with her pain, she acts like it doesn't exist.  Then, Andrew's headache's return, and he has to get tested to see if his brain tumor has returned.  Camryn begins to deal with her pain in an unhealthy manor, and when Andrew finds out, he realizes that she really needs his help.  So, he plans a wonderful surprise, and is determined to bring back his Camryn, give her hope for their future together, and heal her broken heart.

There was a beautiful surprise in this story, along with a great ending that leads perfectly into another direction and segment in this series.  I hope that Ms. Redmerski continues this series, because I really loved The Edge of Never, and The Edge of Always.  This story was slow paced, pretty long and intricate.  The author created an authentic and multilayerd story with characters that felt very real to me.  Andrew and Camryn are deep, three-dimensional characters, and by the time I finished their story, I felt like I went through all of their life experiences right along with them.  The Edge of Always made me cry a whole lot!  It made my heart heavy, and feel like it was going to break in two at times.  You will need a box of tissue when you read this one.  However, you will also smile, giggle, laugh, feel hope, excitement, and great joy for these two unforgettable characters!

My Rating:

I give The Edge of Always by J.A Redmerski 4.5 Beautiful, Romantic, Passionate, Devastating, Healing, Heartfelt, and an Epic Love Story Filled Stars!  Andrew and Camryn had a tough journey, filled with life's crazy up's and downs.  Their relationship and love for one another was tested, yet they came out stronger, and more in love than ever.  I fell in love with Andrew's character more and more with each page I turned.  He was Camryn's rock, was so full of life, and taught Camryn how to live and enjoy hers to the fullest.  The Edge of Always, was a powerful, and heavy story that was filled with angst, and tragedy, but also great love, adventure, and hope for a bright future.  Add this series to your personal library, for a story that you will love, cherish, and remember for years to come.

My Favorite Quotes:

"Now, there comes a time in a person's life when you have to face something so horrible that you feel like you'll never be the same person again.  It's like something dark swoops down from somewhere above and steals every shred of happiness you have ever felt and all you can do is watch it, feel it go, knowing that no matter what you do in your life that you'll never be able to get it back.  Everybody goes through this at least once.  No one is immune.  But what I fail to understand is how one person can go through it enough for five people and in such a short time."  (eARC, Loc. 575)

~Camryn

"You're the world to me, I whisper onto her lips.  I hope you never forget that.  I'll never forget, she whispers back and moves her hips very subtly on my lap.  Then she nudges my lips with her own and says just before kissing me, But if I ever do, for whatever reason, I hope you'll always find a way to remind me.  I study her mouth and then her cheeks resting underneath the pads of my thumbs.  Always, I say and kiss her ravenously." (eARC, Loc. 870)

~Andrew & Camryn

"I feel free with you, she says.  I feel like I can do anything.  Go anywhere.  Be anything that I want.  Her eyes fall on me once more and she says, We'll settle down soon, but I never want to settle down forever."  (eARC, Loc. 2938)

~Camryn

Excerpt #3

Camryn still loves the newer stuff and the Civil Wars more than anything and so that’s usually what we play.
Tonight will be no different.
I love watching her perform them next to me up on stage because she becomes so vibrant and playful and sexy as hell. Not that she isn’t all of those things already, but it’s like another more daring and flirty side of her comes out when she’s singing. And she doesn’t just sing—she puts on a show. I think it’s that little actress she’s always had buried somewherein herself. She told me she performed in plays at school, and I can definitely see she has the knack for it.
But singing alongside me also seems to make her happy, and that’s why tonight is so important.
“I’m so nervous,” Camryn says next to my ear, having to speak loudly over the music.
I make a pffft sound with my lips. “Oh, please. Since when do you get nervous anymore? We’ve done this dozens of times.”
“I know, but I’m singing in front of your brother this time.”
“He can’t sing for shit, so his opinion is hardly valid.”
She smiles. “Well, I’m not nervous to the point that I don’t want to do it. I guess it’s actually kind of exciting.”
“That’s my girl,” I say and lean in to kiss her lips.
“Those two girls,” Camrynyells to me without looking in their direction, “front table to your left, they’re having sex with you in their heads right now, I swear to God.”
I laugh lightly and shake my head. We’d started picking people in the crowd to sing to lately.
“And that guy standing next to the woman in the purple shirt,” I say, nodding subtly in his direction, “has had your thighs wrapped around his head since you walked on this stage.”
“So it’ll be them tonight then, huh?” she asks.
I nod and say, “Uh-huh.”
“Make sure you give it to them good, baby,” she says, grinning wickedly at me.
“Oh, I will,” I say with the same amount of wicked on my face.

Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.

Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind.

With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.

But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. What Made Me Swoon:

Mature Content:  18 & Over

"His rock-hard abs press firmly into my back.  I feel his warm arms slip around my naked waist; one hand moving up to fully squeeze one breast, the other sliding down in-between my legs.  My neck falls back against his chest when he slips a finger between my throbbing lips below  and teases with it.  I gasp, tilting my neck back so that I can reach his mouth.  His tongue snakes out to touch mine; the fleshy warm wetness drives me insane.  He crushes his lips against mine and kisses me ravenously, to the point that neither of us can breathe.  And then he forces me forward onto the bed.  My hands burrow into the sheets, my fingers curling into the fabric until he presses all of his weight on my back and my arms can't hold my body up anymore.  He grabs my wrists again and pulls them around behind me, pressing himself against me."  (Nook, 769)
