Synopsis:

"What are you doing now that your team is out of the running for the Stanley Cup?"

Forget.

I need to forget. I need an escape.

Only one person isn't falling for my reputation as the NHL's Golden Boy; she captured my attention the minute she called me out for snooping through my best friend's house. She didn't want to hear my reason--she only wanted to playfully give me a hard time.

Adalyn is bold, sassy--and the perfect escape.

She's everywhere. In town and in my dreams, and suddenly I need to spend every waking moment with her.

And I do, making this summer the best off-season I've ever had.

But in the midst of getting lost in Adalyn, what I don't expect is to get her pregnant.

And what I definitely don't expect is having to fight for her affection.

Review:

Get ready to swoon and cheer for two amazing characters in One Baby Daddy. Meghan Quinn does not disappoint with her latest book in the Dating by Number Series. This book can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the entire series because all of the couples are absolutely PHENOMENAL!

In One Baby Daddy, we follow sassy nurse Adalyn and intense rookie hockey player Hayden. In this fun, romantic and sexy journey, Hayden as met his match! He's fascinated by Adalyn from the moment he meets her. She's off-limits and even if he's about to get burned, Hayden is about to put his heart on the line. Each new moment that they create together is making them want more. Will the end of the summer and the beginning of the new hockey season drive them apart?

I fell in love with Hayden Holmes from the moment he was introduced in this series. He's such a kind, sexy, sweet and romantic alpha male. Adalyn is the kind of heroine I love to cheer for. She was a great match for Hayden. He was not looking for anything serious during his summer vacation, but she was an unexpected blessing in his life. Their chemistry and banter got me cheering for them from beginning to end!

Meghan Quinn always delivers all the feels!!! I wanted to read Hayden's story so bad when this series first was released. With each new addition to this series, my expectations  grew higher for Hayden's story. Meghan Quinn exceeded all of them and even more! She always writes heart-melting love stories and the swoon fest is guaranteed because her alpha males are absolutely AMAZING!!!

I'm crossing my fingers that Hayden's brothers will each get their own story because I absolutely loved them to pieces!!! I loved all the supporting cast of characters and it made my heart burst with joy to reunite with some of my favorite characters. I highly recommend all of Meghan Quinn's books. If you have not read anything by her, you're seriously missing out!

Ratings:

I give, One Baby Daddy, by Meghan Quinn, 4.5 fun, romantic, passionate, give love a chance stars!

Excerpt:

Turning to the door, I smiled, ready to greet my late-evening customer, but faltered as the door closed behind him.

Cole Goodman was walking my way.

My belly dipped as I took him in. His aviator sunglasses were perched on top of his chocolate-brown hair. A black polo stretched across his broad shoulders and pulled tight across his muscled arms. His pale-blue jeans molded to his Herculean thighs before draping down to his black, square-toed boots. The leather belt on Cole’s trim waist held both a shining badge and a holstered gun.

Cole smiled and locked his light-green eyes on mine as he crossed the room.

His straight, white teeth made my breath hitch—something that had happened last night more times than I wanted to admit.

Molly, who had turned around from her seat to greet our customer, spun around so her back was to Cole. Her cheeks flushed as she whispered, “Wow.”

Wow was right.

Cole Goodman was—simply put—gorgeous.

He could give a woman a speeding ticket and get a thank-you in return. He inspired women to attempt push-ups in a karate class just for the chance to watch him sweat through his gi. Cole made grown women blush like teenagers and giggle in corners, like those girls at the dojo last night.

Review:

Books like The Birthday List are the reason why I love to escape to book town. Devney Perry's writing style is sublime!! I am so mad at myself for not reading her work sooner!! I had an amazing reading escape and Poppy and Cole's love story gave me all the feels!!! These two beautiful, passionate and amazing characters stole a piece of my heart from the moment I met them.

Poppy is not the only one that wanted to check things off a list. I did too when I read my first book by Devney Perry. She was on my 2018 TBR list and I will without a doubt be binge-reading her Jamison Valley Series as soon as I can because her writing style is AMAZING!!! In The Birthday List, Poppy is trying to move forward after the loss of her husband. Life without Jamie his difficult. Five years have passed since that tragic night and Poppy is ready to move forward by completing Jamie's birthday list. The last thing she expected was come face-to-face with Cole Goodman. She could never forget that night when Cole walked into her life and gave her some devastating news. As days go by, Poppy gets help from Cole to accomplish every item on Jamie's list. Each moment that they share together is special and Poppy soon discovers that Cole is a soothing balm for her broken heart. His love, patience and kindness is putting all the pieces of her broken heart together.

Gah!!! Be ready for a major swoon fest!!! Cole was such a protective, caring and loyal hero. The way he fell for Poppy melted my heart!! He was always there to reach out and comfort Poppy when she needed it the most and his love was like a breath of fresh air in Poppy's life. It was so easy to relate to Poppy's character. I wanted to reach into the book and give her a big hug. I connected with her story from the very beginning and I was cheering for her to be able to let go of the past and take a step toward the future with Cole. Their slow-burning romance is one that gave me butterflies in my stomach and left me with a heart bursting with love.

I had a wonderful time reading this book and I will without a doubt revisit this story and these characters very soon! I'm crossing my fingers that Molly and Finn get their own book. I'm cheering for them! This was an amazing story and I'm so happy that I finally read a book by this author. I highly recommend The Birthday List!

Synopsis:

1.Hate-screw my high school nemesis.
2.Remember to hate him.
3.Prove my brother wrong.
It should be easy.
It isn’t.

As the owner of Pick-A-Dick, New Orleans’ premier hook-up website, my job is simple. Connect two people for a no-strings, no-expectations hook-up. The plus for my clients is that I’m the one who gets to sift through the dick pics—except this time, they're required.

My problem? My brother, co-owner of Pick-A-Dick’s sister dating site, doesn’t believe it’s possible to hook up with someone three times and not fall in love.  I disagree. I know it’s possible.

And my disagreement is exactly how I end up reconnected with my high school nemesis, Elliott Sloane. The guy who asked me to junior prom and then stood me up. Who egged my car when I rejected him, and convinced my senior homecoming date to ghost me.  It should be easy to hate-screw him. If only he was still that person, instead of a hot-as-hell single dad, working as a builder to make ends’ meet, fighting for custody of his daughter.

Not to mention packing in the pants department...

Three hook-ups.

One outcome.
Right?

Excerpt:

“Is she okay with that juice?” Peyton watched her go.

I selected the Blu-ray from the cupboard and shot a smirk her way. “Sorry to break it to you, but you’re getting a juice box.”

“I can live with that.”

I turned away and hit the eject button on the player. “You didn’t have to say yes to her, you know.”

“Of course, I had to. Have you seen those eyes? How do you say no to her, ever?”

“I think of all the times she screams and swings her arms like a tiny terrorist, and it’s pretty easy.” I put the disk in and turned around.

Peyton had one eyebrow raised. “See, now, I’d think that’s reason to say no.”

“It depends on the day. Sometimes it results in her being put to bed to calm down, which means she ends up taking a rare afternoon nap, and I get some peace and quiet.”

“That’s a thing around her? She was talking to me for thirty minutes flat about what I did and didn’t like.”

“Only thirty minutes? Lucky you. She has about three hours of material of that.” I took a seat on the sofa, making sure to leave space between us for Bri. “Did she get started on hedgehogs yet?”

Peyton looked a little confused. “Hedgehogs?”

“YouTube is the devil.”

“That…was quite the jump in subject.” I laughed as the main menu music hit on the TV. “I’m going to preface this by saying kids are weird.”

“Some get that from their parents.”

I blinked at her for a second. She wasn’t wrong if half these people who had a mini-career opening fucking toys on YouTube were parents.

“There are a bunch of stupid videos on YouTube, and apparently, watching people open toys is thrilling.”

Now, she looked really confused.

“And on one of those she watched, the person had a pet hedgehog who wasn’t having the nonsense of her opening a Hatchimal on camera, so it stole the egg.”

She blinked several times in quick succession. “I have no idea what you just said, and if I’m honest… Please don’t explain it.”

I laughed and hit play on the TV.

“Here’s your dooce-box,” Briony said, handing Peyton two. “And das mine. I can’t do the straws.”

“Oh. Right. Okay.” Peyton looked at the two juices that had been thrust at her.

Smiling, I took one from her. I pulled the straw off the back, out of the tiny plastic slip, and poked it through the foiled hole in the top. “There you go,” I said to Briony. “What do you want for dinner?”

She put the straw in her mouth and pursed her lips as she sucked the juice up. Peyton watched her, lips twitching, as she put her straw in place.

“Pizza!” Briony announced.

Oh no. I’d eaten too much pizza lately.

Was there such a thing as too much pizza?

Maybe if the toppings were changed up…

“Peydon, do you want pizza?” Bri asked, leaning right into her.

“I like pizza,” she replied, smiling sweetly down at her. “What’s your favorite?”

“I like spots and cheese.”

“Spots?”

I coughed on my water. “Pepperoni,” I explained. “They look like spots on the pizza.”

Peyton’s eyes met mine for a minute. Silent laughter shone back at me. That really was toddler logic at its finest.

“You know,” she said, looking down at Peyton. “Spots are my favorite, too!”

Once again, Briony gasped. “Reawy?”

“Really, really. I love spots.”

Oh, Jesus.

It might have been a mistake introducing these two. Not only was my daughter becoming increasingly obsessed with someone who seemed to be a brunette, adult version of her…

No, that was the problem. Peyton was the brunette, adult version of Briony, attitude and all—and if there was anything my daughter didn’t need, it was someone who could teach her a thing or ten about sarcasm.

“I’ll order pizza,” I said, going to stand.

“Oh, you got it last time. I’ll go call them.” Peyton put her juice on the side table and tried to move, but Briony stopped her.

“No. Mimi told me that only gentlemen buy dinner. Princesses sit and look priddy.”

Peyton looked down at her. “Sit and look pretty? I like to buy my own pizza sometimes, and that’s okay.”

Without missing a beat, Briony said, “Princesses sit and look priddy so the mens buying dinner don’t know dat we can kick dere butts.”

Review:

When I finished reading The Upside to Being Single, I knew without a doubt that I wanted more of all the characters that stole a little piece of my heart. Millie and Jake were an awesome couple to follow and I could not wait to see who was going to rock Peyton's world!

The Hook-Up Experiment was such a fun, sexy and heart-melting reading escape! Peyton and Elliott's chemistry was amazing! I read this book in one sitting because I simply could not put it down! It captivated me from beginning to end! This enemies-to-lovers romance left me with a smile on my lips and a happy heart.

It all started with a bet. Peyton has been challenged by her brother to sleep with one person three times in less than two weeks and not fall in love with them. Five hundred bucks are on the line and since Peyton does not back away from a challenge, she accepts. The only problem is that her friends, Millie and Chloe, have picked her date.

Big mistake...

He's a blast from the past she wants to forget. That is until they share a passionate night together. Elliott Sloane is all kinds of good trouble. This bet was supposed to be easy-peasy. Sleep three times with a guy and not fall in love. Her heart obviously did not get the memo because this single dad is about to rock her world and steal a piece of her heart.

Peyton is the kind of heroine I love to cheer for. She's strong, confident and I love the way she slays in all that she does. Elliott was such a fantastic hero. He's a fabulous single dad that fiercely loves his little princess. The moments they shared made me melt! There was never a doubt in my mind that Elliott was crazy in love with Peyton. His actions, his words and his patience made me swoon non-stop!

The Experiment Duet is off to a fantastic start! The second book will follow Chloe and Dom. They made me laugh so much in the previous books. These two stubborn characters will without a doubt set our kindles on fire when their story is released! I can't wait to reunite with this crew again. Emma Hart always delivers a page-turning reading escape!

Rating:

I give, The Hook-Up Experiment, by Emma Hart, 4.5 entertaining, sexy, romantic, oil and water stars!

“Can I help you?” I asked.

He blinked and met my eyes.

“What the hell are you doing over there?” I pushed to stand up straight.

“Right now?” He capped his water bottle. “Well, honestly… I’m just thinking you’d look better over the hood of that car than under it.”

I unhooked the hood and slammed it down, spinning on the balls of my feet.

Our eyes met properly. I didn’t like what I saw in his—desire, attraction, need. Which was obviously why a shiver ran down my spine.

I cocked a hip, putting my hand on it. “The only time you will ever get me over a hood of a car is if a wiper blade needs changing. So, unless you’re a wiper blade...”

Dex pulled his phone from his pocket and started tapping the screen.
I blinked. “What are you doing?”

He peered up at me through his unfairly thick eyelashes. “Seeing if I can get a wiper blade costume for Halloween.”

“I don’t even know how to respond to that.”

“You can buy wiper blade glasses.”

“What?”

He raised his eyebrows. “And a lady here on eBay will hand-make any costume. There’s my Halloween sorted.”

I stared at him. “You’re not getting me over anything, Dex. Definitely not a car hood. No matter what you think.”

He clutched his chest dramatically. “You wound me.”
“Unfortunately not fatally,” I muttered.

“You also underestimate me.”

“There’s a lot of that going around in this garage.” I put the bottle of coolant away.

“Touché.”

“Thank you.”

“Can I ask you something?”

I sighed and turned to face him again. “What?”

Earnestly, he asked, “Can you stop wearing those tiny shorts? Or yoga pants that make me want to touch your ass every five minutes?”

I looked down at the ripped shorts of my dungarees. “Can you keep your thoughts to yourself?

Control yourself, maybe? Not look at me and see someone worth screwing?”

Review:

I got the chance to discover author Emma Hart this year. I have loved each of my reading escapes and Miss Mechanic was no different. This fun romance left me with a smile on my face and a heart full of joy. Her heroines are always strong and confident and her alpha males are swoony, sexy and simply irresistible.

When Jamie’s dad lost his garage, she was heartbroken. Cars are her life and she’s a damn good mechanic that needs to find a job that will fill the void that the loss of the family business left. Dexter Ryne is looking for a mechanic. The last thing he expected was for Jamie to show up and claim the position. She’s sassy and a firecracker that keeps pushing all his buttons. Will he give her a chance? Two stubborn mechanics are about to go head-to-head in a romantic comedy that will melt your hearts!

Jamie and Dex are two characters you NEED to meet! Their chemistry is insanely hot and these mechanics will set your world on fire! With each chapter that you read, you will irrevocably fall in love with them. I loved how confident Jamie was. She was determined to show Dex that she belonged in his garage. Dex was very stubborn at the beginning, but the more Jamie worked with him the more he realized that she’s exactly where she belongs.

What I love about Emma Hart is that not only does she give us unforgettable main characters, but her support cast of characters are pretty addictive as well. Both people who are close to Jamie and Dex all played a fun and memorable role in their story. I really love when I can connect with all the characters. This book can be read as a complete standalone. I’m pretty positive every reader will want more after reading Miss Mechanic so I highly recommend Miss Fix-It, which features a single dad and a handy woman that steals his heart.

Rating:

I give, Miss Mechanic, by Emma Hart, 4 fun, flirty, sexy stars!
