Review:

Wild Thing is a super fun, sexy, quick novella that will bring a smile to your lips! It's my second time reading a book by dynamic duo Liberty Laine. They always deliver the romance, the swoon and a good dose of sexy times!

This is a quick read so expect everything to move fast some between Tillie and Nate. Their chemistry has been growing since they were teens and nobody can deny that when these two are in the same room, sparks fly. Nate is a police officer and falling for Tillie Coletrain is going against all the rules. She has a few crimes under her name and clearing her from these charges is becoming his main goal. He's done waiting. He wants Tillie by his side. Even if it means breaking a few rules.

This was such an enjoyable reading escape! It was a fun, flirty, swoony read that left me with a happy heart. I love when authors can give me so many feels in a novella. I usually stay away from novellas because insta-love romance is not my cup of tea. I do make some exceptions and novellas written by Liberty Laine is one of them ;)

The clock on the wall counts the seconds, steady as the rhythm of my beating heart, which thumps wildly within my chest until the glass door to the library opens, propelled by a gust of wind. 

Some new fallen leaves flutter in, the heavy doors slamming from the draft. 

Along with them? Zeke Daniels. 

He shuffles in, dark gray sweatpants hanging low on his hips, black Iowa Wrestling hoodie pulled up over his head, the university’s bright yellow mascot screen-printed across the chest. Backpack slung over one shoulder, black athletic flip-flops, and a pair of black sunglasses perched on the bridge of his strong nose complete the overall ensemble. 

He is utterly…ridiculous. 

Unapproachable. 

Daunting. 

His arrogance knows no bounds; I can see it in his loose gait, the exaggerated swagger, and the too-casual way he’s dragging his flip-flops across the cold, marble tile floor. It’s noisy, irritating, and completely uncalled for. 

In the moment, my mind drifts to his personal life, and I theorize that he listens to heavy metal music to sooth his foul temperament, drinks his coffee black—as black as his soul—and his liquor straight up. I imagine once he’s had sex with someone, they’re never invited back. I go one step further and theorize that they’re never invited to spend the night at his place, either. 

Zeke Daniels makes his way to a table at the far end of the room, near the periodicals, one out of the way with plenty of privacy. 

Sets his bag down in one of the four wooden chairs. Flicks on the small study lamp. Plugs his laptop cord into the base and stands. 

Turns. 

Our eyes would have met then were it not for those ludicrous sunglasses. I choose the exact moment he lifts his gaze to look down at the ground. Busy myself with shuffling papers on the counter. Count to ten instead of chanting, Please don’t come over, please don’t come over, please don’t come over… 

But luck isn’t on my side because he most decidedly does. 

Makes his way over like a predator at a pace so deliberate, I’m convinced he’s doing it on purpose. As if he suspects I’m watching from under my long lashes, dreading his imminent arrival. 

He basks in my discomfort. 

The distance between us closes, his strides purposeful. 

Twenty feet. 

Fifteen. 

Ten. 

Eight. 

Three. 

His large hand reaches up, pushing down the hood of his sweatshirt, his fingertips pinching the earpiece of his sunglasses and pulling them off his face. My eyes follow the movements as he folds them closed, hanging them on the neckline of his hoodie. 

His gaze lingers—those clear gray eyes famous around campus—and finds the shiny silver bellhop bell perched on the counter with the sign next to it that reads, Ring for help. 

Ding. 

The tip of his forefinger presses down on the small bell. 

Ding. 

He hits it again, despite me standing not three feet in front of him. 

What an ass.

Review:

I put adulting on hold for two nights in a row. I lost sleep. I went to work looking like a zombie. Why? Because I just found the most amazing author and series to follow. I am 100% obsessed with the entire cast of characters from Sara Ney’s How to Date a Douchebag Series. What an incredible reading journey that left my bookworm heart happy and satisfied. One of my reading goals for 2017 was to read as many new-to-me authors as possible. I have never read anything by this author so I was excited to read The Studying Hours and The Failing Hours back-to-back. My social media news feed was full of posts concerning these books and I am so happy that I read this series. Sebastian and Zeke are Douchebag Royalty. If you have not met them yet, you are seriously missing out! Don’t even get me started on Jameson and Violet. These girls are the kind of heroines I love to cheer for. 

Zeke Daniels is intimidating and a complete douchebag. Violet DeLuca knows this all too well. She’s been on the receiving end of his bad mood one too many times. Their paths keep on crossing and she’s more confused than ever when it comes to the mystery that is Zeke Daniels. As days go by, Violet and Zeke grow closer together. Their chemistry is explosive and undeniable. Will Violet give in to temptation and fall for Zeke or will she guard her heart and keep her distance? 

Gah!!! I loved every single minute of my reading escape. Violet and Zeke are two of the most fascinating characters that I have ever met. They are like night and day. Zeke is moody and he`s a total douche noodle and Violet is sweet, lovable and kind. They both have an intensity that pulls them towards each other and that is why they complete each other to perfection. 

Violet was the breath of fresh air that Zeke needed in his life. Each one of her smiles is like a soothing balm on his emotional scars. These characters not only grew as a couple, but as individuals as well. I loved how Violet peeled every single layer that was keeping Zeke prisoner from filing his life with happiness. Zeke was extremely stubborn and I wanted to deliver some much needed virtual slaps his way. OMG!! He fell hard for Violet and that totally melted my heart and made me swoon. 

From the captivating writing style to the intoxicating characters, Sara Ney delivered a story that kept me turning the pages from beginning to end! I look forward to reading her next releases and her previous work as well. This series is scoring a place in my favorite list. I will without a doubt read them again soon. If you are looking for your next unputdownable reading escape ... This is it!

“You’re pissing me off,” she said quietly, her eyes still searching my face. 

“And that’s turning me on,” I retorted, my voice flat. “So you might wanna tone down the hate glares if you don’t wanna find yourself being fucked on this desk with the blinds still open.” 

I was still staring at my screen, working on the merger deal I was eager to get signed before Christmas, but I could see from my peripheral that she had paled. I liked how—once again—I’d gotten under her skin. Quickly. 

“You’re disgusting,” she muttered, still staring at me—but not in a way that suggested she was appalled. 

I cracked my neck, opening my browser and checking the stocks on the screen, skimming through the greens and the reds. “That may well be, but I’m balls deep in your fucking head, Help, and there’s nothing you can do about it.” 

Her eyes glittered with rage, and fuck, I was so hard, and fuck, she was so beautiful. This was so on. I was going to fuck Dean’s ex-girlfriend, use her for my personal needs, and toss her away when I was done.

“You just gave Floyd a lecture about the inter-office fraternization policy. No mixing business and pleasure.” She leaned forward. Her elbow touched my finger accidentally, and she jerked it away. 

I met her halfway, erasing the space between us across the desk. 

“Correction—guys like Floyd won’t give you pleasure. Men like me would. Besides, the man likes Arrow,” I drawled, as if this alone was a reason to fire him. 

To me, it was. 

“You know what your problem is, Vicious? You still haven’t decided if you hate me or like me. That’s why you act like this every time I’m around other men.” There wasn’t a trace of embarrassment in her voice. She owned up to this.

Review:

2017 is the year for me to discover authors that have been on my TBR list for a long time. L.J. Shen is one of those authors. I have heard fantastic things about her writing style and how captivating her stories are. After reading Vicious, it left me wanting more! I will without doubt make some time on my schedule to read her previous books. 

Ten years ago, Emilia LeBlanc ran away from home. Not because she wanted to, but because she was forced to leave her family and her home because of one man. Baron Spencer Jr. AKA Vicious. He was cruel, arrogant and he has not changed one bit. Vicious needs Emilia’s help to fight his own personal demons. A war he’s been preparing for and that he wants to win at any cost. As days go by, Emilia and Vicious grow closer together. Emilia is determined to protect her heart because she knows how badly it was broken years ago. Vicious is toxic and she knows she should stay away from him. Will she be able to resist him or will she play with fire and get burned again? 

Vicious was a roller coaster ride of emotions! Not only for the characters, but for me as well. Vicious was a very difficult character to follow. He was very mean to Emilia and my heart broke for her in those moments when he created a hurricane of emotions in her heart. With Vicious, what you see is what you get. The more I read, the more I got to know him more. Just the way Emilia saw him. She did not hold onto those feelings for nothing. She saw something in Vicious that nobody else could see. She was destined to be his. She is a wonderful heroine that I loved to follow. 

I really liked the chemistry between Emilia and Vicious. It was intense and passionate. You could feel their connection in each of the scenes that they shared together. This couple had many ups and downs before finding their HEA. All the supporting characters in this story are great! The writing style was fantastic and I’m extremely happy with my reading escape! I’m so glad that I finally got to read a book by L.J. Shen. I can’t wait to see what she will be working on next!

Katy Evans writes the most sizzling and sensual love stories! She has perfected the lovable and irresistible bad boy. I have fallen in love with every one of her male leads, and Callan Carmichael was no different. The Manwhore series has been an addictive and decadent delight to read. Every one of these men would make the magazine selection for "sexiest man alive!" If you love hot romance, this series is a must read! 

Callan Carmichael is "The last man standing," in the commitment department. He plans to stay a bachelor for the rest of his life. While his two best friends, Saint and Tahoe are happy in monogamous loving relationships, Callan's only commitment is to his business career. 

Tahoe's sister Olivia "Livvy" is looking for a business internship where she can learn from the best. She has a life plan, at at the top of her plan is establishing her career. Tahoe gets her a summer internship working for Callan. So she packs her bags leaving Texas and her parents behind, to head to the windy city. 

While she is starting out, she makes friends with Gina, Wynn, and Rachel. Livvy's first day on the job leads her to meet "hot smoker guy," when she is taking a break on the terrace. Pretty soon it becomes a daily thing for these two to meet up, share a cigarette, and conversation. However, things get complicated when Livvy realizes that "hot smoker guy," is the big boss and one of her brother's best friends. While these two attempt to stay away from one another, the match has been lit, and the flame is consuming them both! 

Whew! Hot! Hot! Hot! This story delivered in the sexy romance department. The connection between Callan and Livvy was intense and effortless. These two complimented each other with their shared passion for work, their similar sense of humor, and off the charts chemistry! I loved their interactions. I was right in the moment with Callan and Livvy. They didn't need to tell each other how they felt about one another, you could "see" it with the way they treated each other. 

Womanizer had tender and sweet moments, as well as passion filled ones. They had fun together, explored one another, and I felt like I was on an exciting adventure of falling in love, right along with them. You can't plan for love. It happens in it's own time, and these two truly "fell" into love with one another. What a wonderful romance!

Each installment of the Manwhore Series has been a pleasure to read. Katy Evans always delivers a hot, passionate, all-consuming romance that linger with you for days. Her writing style is phenomenal, her characters intriguing and her love stories are some of my favorite in Book Town.

Olivia Roth is all packed and ready to leave Texas behind for three months. She has a business degree and big dreams to achieve. Chicago will be her new home and she wants to make the best of those three months. Her brother, Tahoe, got her an internship that hopefully will make her career dreams come true. The last thing she expected was to fall for her brother's best friend and the CEO of the company that has accepted her has an intern. 

Callan Carmichael is a womanizer and the last single man standing in his circle of friends. Olivia knows all to well about his reputation. She knows she's playing with fire, but the attraction she feels toward Callan is undeniable. Olivia is ready to risk it all and live these three months of forbidden passion with him to the fullest. 

OMG! Womanizer wa such a sexy and thrilling story! Olivia and Callan are extremely hot together. I could feel their connection in every scene that they shared together. Their first encounter was fun and flirty and the rest of their journey is a passionate love story that will melt your hearts. I loved how they enjoyed each moment that they had together. Three months is not a long time to spend with the person that is rocking your world. The steamy scenes will have you fanning yourself and the swoon factor will be ON full mode. 

Katy Evans is one of my favorite authors. Everything that she writes always captivates me. She did an amazing job with this installment and I was so happy to see the characters from the other books make an appearance. Olivia and Callan's story was everything that I expected. Katy Evans always delivers a romance filled with many passionate, sweet and unforgettable moments. I highly recommend this book and the rest of this series!
