The Way I See It

I have been most fortunate to discover these books. Ms. Lane has taken me on a wonderful escape with Olivia and Dean. From the first page I was completely captivated and transformed! Bravo bravo there are books out there that will leave a lasting imprint on your soul, this is one of them. I had a wish earlier in the series I wanted Liv to transform into the strong confident woman I knew she was and show the world! She DOES! I was so excited! Dean is just amazing because he loves Liv just the way she deserves. This was one super steamy read Ms. Lane sure knows how to turn her written words in powerful emotions. The love that these two share jumps off the pages. 

A-ccusation, has threatened Dean he must do the unthinkable and separate from his heart and his soul. Knowing this must be done doesn’t make it any easier.
W-ork, Liv has fought to take care of her friend in the best way she knows how. Unfortunately sometimes its best to let go, Liv is determined to figure something out to achieve her independence.
A-lone, her family has never held fond memories for Liv but a ghost from her past will leave her a gift that will become the foundation of a new beginning for her.
K-nowing, after all of the accusations threaten Deans carrier he will fight. Once more than his career is on the line and his precious wife is threatened he has no choice but to concede to his enemies demands.
E-vent, the grand opening is supposed to be a time for celebration but an unforeseen encounter will be everyones breaking point. Truths come out in an explosive way and this will be the catalyst of how things will end.
N-ew, everything that has happened leading up to an event that finally close a dark chapter in their lives Dean and Olivia will embrace each other ready to face the rest of their lives the way they were meant to live. Together.

Such an amazing love story where things aren’t always pretty and these two must fight to remain together. All along you will find your self cheering these two on. I cannot recommend this series enough truly this is one every body needs to pick up! Olivia and Dean will capture your heart. In Awaken we meet Liv’s mom and the man who put her on the path that has brought her to now. Though I wanted to punch Liv’s mom a time or two my heart kind of broke for her. I was giddy with emotion when Liv stands up for herself and shows every one what a strong person she is.

I can’t put into words how much these two have touched my heart. The love they share is without measure. Together they can overcome anything and they show us how to fight. To fight for something so pure is truly magical. I was so happy to see the both of them achieve their dreams.

My Review:

Mike's Way Back by Amy Gregory is a fast-paced enjoyable read. It has a nice combination of lovable characters, sexiness and romance. Mike and Taryn were great characters to follow. They have an awesome chemistry and they are funny too!

Mike is a cop who had to make a difficult decision once tragedy struck. He returned to his childhood town and now works has a detective in Renlend Kansas. He left the Chicago PD after making a promise to his mom, but in reality he is trying to forget that terrible day that marked his life. Mike has not been lucky in love, but only one look at Taryn has his heart beating again. Taryn has no time for a relationship. She is invested in her work as a designer and spends most of her days traveling from one project to another. When her next project brings her to Renlend Kansas, the last thing she expected was to fall under the spell of a pair of mesmerizing blue eyes. Mike appeared unexpectedly in her life and when she finds out he's a cop, she's disappointed. Growing up in a family of cops was hard enough, the last thing she wanted was to fall in love with one. As days go by and their relationship grows, both Mike and Taryn will have to overcome their personal demons if they want a shot at making their relationship work.

This story was good. I connected with Mike and Taryn from the start and I finished reading this book in a couple of hours. I loved that this was an easy story to follow. No major drama in the story. It's a romantic/sweet love story that kept my interest until the very last page. I really liked Andrew and Scott (Taryn's best friends) and their sense of humor ;) I have to admit that I had a hard time connecting with Gabby, the bookstore owner, and the main character of the next book in the Finding Perfect series. I really wanted to connect with her since the next book is all about her and Shane, her mystery man. To be honest, Shane already won me over with his cockiness ;) I'm really anxious to discover Gabby's secret and to see if I connect with her in the next book.

The Way I See It

Lennon’s Rain...SOOOOOO not what I was expecting. Let me start of by being BRUTALLY honest. I am a HUGE fan of JINX from Lennon’s Jinx...This went in a TOTALLY different direction and I was flippin sad! GAH!! I was beyond torn, typically I’m all for the love triangles they dont really bother me. I’m not sure if its cause there are two girls when there is usually two guys. I dunno?! What I do know is I fell madly in love with Jinx and I soooooo badly want her to find her HEA. Lennon has always loved Rain, in Lennon’s Rain its a matter of whether he will get to finally have her. One thing is for sure everyone KNOWS where Lennon's heart is. Even when he isn't quite sure himself.

L-iberated, doing something without his girlfriend Lennon feels like he may get into trouble.
E-ngaged, a long time ago a boy proposed to a girl only for her to break his heart.
N-ervous, Lennon keeps running into his past the only one who unnerves him is Rain and she keeps showing up everywhere.
N-eglected, Lennon has tried to go slow with Jinx but her self doubt and mistrust keeps pushing him away.
O-pinion, a compromising position will be the final piece of evidence and the nail in the coffin. As far as Lennon is concerned sides have been chosen.
N-ight, brings stalkers and luckily Rain knows how to take care of herself and what signs to look for.
S-urprise, Rain’s band has won, now a tour is in her future everything is finally coming together for her.

R-eality, is so different now, Lennon has been through so much and is right back at point A. Trusting his father to take care of Currie(his precious sister) is a scary fact.
A-pproach, Lennon’s past keeps haunting him he will not be a victim ever again.
I-ndependent, Rain wants to make a name for herself on her own, through hard work and merit she refuses to be another statistic.
N-ame, he wants her to take his...

Okay look I love Rain, I do. She is great with Currie and she knows Lennon without the extra effort. I am still friends with people I've known since Elementary School there is nothing on this planet that can measure up to that type of connection. Here is the deal, I love Jinx and I want her to be happy if that makes me you know "whatevs"...Then fine, I'll be "whatevs". I can’t help it Lennon may have met Rain in the 5th grade but I met Jinx first and I’m kind of possessive with loyal to the ones I love. So there ya go. I’ll always have her back. I love the way Rain is with Currie and how she carries herself I guess I wish I would have met her first so my loyalties would not be questioned. Okay let me get off the JINX train and say I can't wait to see what happens in the next book because there is only one person I love more than Jinx and that is Lennon…So OFC I'll be following the story.

He is so complex and simple its mind boggling he was taught by the best how to raise and nurture a young one.(NOT HIS PARENTS) Rain was his whole life and heart she will always own him no matter the odds. I love Lennon because of his capacity of love the way he cares for his little sister is exemplary. I’m not even THAT good of a parent. ;) He is kind and loving and his heart has always belonged to one person. Nothing will change that, ever.

My Wish

Please OH Please will Jinx get her HEA?. I don’t care who its with? I want my girl with the amazing lungs and rocking hair to find love. Her life was nearly destroyed Lennon rescued Jinx from the abyss, its clear HE belongs to someone ELSE so CM I’m begging...Can we please see Jinx finally kiss HER prince? Please?

(Lennon's Girls #1)

I fell in absolute love with Jinx and Lennon! Bravo this was a great read, I'm so committed to Jinx I'm deathly afraid of the next book. I'll be honest the cover of this book doesn't really do it for me. Red and green are complimentary colors but to put them on the cover like that makes me think of Christmas. The story was great from the first page we get thrown into the action and I enjoyed that very much. Lennon has been through so much and he is nothing like what the groupies make him out to be. He loves his sister and takes care of every aspect of her life. Lennon is Currie's heart and vice versa. Jinx has spunk and is meant to be a rockstar, she has been through something traumatic and it has stunted her. Lennon seems to reach her in a way no on has before. Jinx is a rising star and I can't wait to see where she goes from here. *WARNING* I'm a little worried about the direction of the series but I'm going to continue to read it I look forward to everyone finding balance and peace in their lives.

My Thoughts:

The Innocent was a dark, intense, and twisted story about obsession, jealousy, sexual extremes, role playing, bondage, pushing the limits, and atypical sexual behaviors.  It continued where The Protege left off .  Serena stayed with Price and he treated her like an object.  He kept tabs on her at all times, by having his driver take her straight to college and back.  He also has a bodyguard who followed her, and was assigned to "protect what was his."  Price had a strange hold on Serena.  They had a very warped past together, and Serena let him abuse her, and engage in some very twisted sexual acts.  Price was unscrupulous, and degraded, demoralized, and abused Serena.  She showed  signs of Stockholm Syndrome.  She defended, and was loyal to Price.  


I hated Price with a passion.  He was an egomaniac who was use to getting whatever he wanted.  He looked like a golden boy with his innocent physical beauty, and had built an empire of vast wealth.  However, underneath it all, he was cold, callous, calculating, and sadistic.  Price was every woman's worst nightmare, and I wanted to see Serena break free from his clutches.  Serena had major self-esteem issues, and was very weak.  I went back and forth between feeling angry towards her decision to put up with Price's abuse, and feeling sorry for her.  Sebastian was her modern day "knight in Shinning Armor."  He went to extremes to fulfill her eccentric sexual desires.  Sebastian loved Serena with all he was, and wanted her to be free to live her own life, pursue her passion in music composition, and be happy.  He offered her the perfect escape, and the more I got to know Sebastian, the more I liked him.  Sebastian was a world renowned music composer, who came from old money.  He had dark hair, blue eyes, and was the most desired eligible bachelor in the circles he ran.  However, he wanted no one but the elusive Serena.  He was in love with her, wanted to protect her, and get her away from Price.


The Innocent had a captivating plot.  There was never a dull moment in this story and it flew by.  The main characters were well developed, and held my attention, as I questioned their motives, and why they did what they did.  Some of the sexual situations made me uncomfortable, and they pushed the boundaries of typical behavior.  There was voyerism, abuse, eccentric fetishes, and role playing.  The descriptions were vivid, and explicit.  Ms. Gow is a very talented writer, and I look forward to reading some more of her other stories.  

My Rating:

I give The Innocent by Kailin Gow 4 Dark, Sexually Intense & Dramatic Stars!  This series is not for the mainstream.  It encompasses various twisted sexual fetishes, the mixture of pain and pleasure, and domination and subservience.  If you are in to that sort of thing, I would recommend The Protege Series.  However, if you are not, I would stay clear.  The writing and descriptions were superb, the plot twists kept delivering surprise after surprise, and the characters were fascinating and highly complex.  The Innocent stands out in the erotica genre.  Ms. Gow takes chances with this story, and gives the readers a story unlike any I've ever read before.
