I decided to wrap-up my reading challenge of 2015 with First Touch by Laurelin Paige. This book has been appearing on my social media news feed for the last few weeks. The reviews have been fantastic and I could not wait to read my first Laurelin Paige book. I have heard many amazing things about her other books and I could not wait to experience an unforgettable reading escape.

Emily Wayborn is left speechless when she gets a message from her long lost friend. They have not talked to each other in years, and when Amber leaves their safe word in her message Emily knows that she's in trouble. It's a race against time to find out what happened to Amber. As days go by, Emily creates a plan that will bring her in the arms of dangerous Reeve Sallis. He might have the answers that she is looking for and she is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding Amber disappearance.  Emily knows she is playing with fire, but she can't resist Reeve's scorching touch. How far is she willing to go to save her friend?

First Touch is the first installment of The First and Last Series. I really did not know what to expect since this was my first time reading a book by this author.  It was an intense, passionate, twisted and a page-turning reading escape!  I have to admit that it started out slow for me. I could not feel the chemistry between Emily and Reeve. Don't get me wrong their chemistry was extremely hot, but Reeve's hot and cold behaviour towards Emily got me so mad! It took me a while to connect with them, but when they started to open up about each other's past I could really feel the connection then.

This story played out like a movie in my head. I was trying to solve the mystery surrounding Amber's disappearance at the same time that Emily did. It was like a crazy game of Ping-Pong when it came to Reeve's involvement. Guilty, not guilty, guilty, not guilty ... I was going crazy trying to figure it out!! I was on the edge of my seat until the very end. That cliffhanger?!?! Gah!!!!! WTF!!!!!

I'm really happy I closed my reading challenge with this book. I can't wait to see what happens next! I want answers to my questions!!!!! lol!!! The next installment is going to be extremely intense. I can't wait to put all the pieces of this mysterious puzzle together!

The Way I See It

Let me start off by saying that I’m a pretty big fan of Laurelin Paige. When I read Take Two I knew I was in for a treat. The story was steamy as is expected from Ms. Paige. Both of the main characters were very likable and over all endearing. This was a fun light read nothing heavy looming in the background and I enjoyed watching these characters connect from day one to seven years later. This is the perfect book for a lazy sunday where you want to fill it with something fun and light. 

T-imid, Micah see’s a girl with legs for miles and he invites her to join him. Maddie does something very out of the norm for her she gives into her bodies demands. 

A-ssistant, Maddie flopped her dream but she has made a name for herself elsewhere. Now she is requested and she can name her price thats how talented she is. 

K-indle, Maddie hasn’t seen Micah in years but it feels like he doesn’t remember her. Micah not only remembers her he wants to finish what started 7 years ago. 

E-ntertainment, they have agreed to keep their interactions a secret. Everything around them seems to be in technicolor due to the risks they are taking. 

T-ruth, it slips from Maddie’s mouth she will not take it back good or bad these are the facts. Nothing to do about them now. 

W-orthy, all Maddie wanted to do was be a part of Micah’s inner circle she wanted to be a part of his family. It will take the wisdom his mother holds to open his eyes. 

O-pportunity, Micah has been a douchebag he is tired of his mistakes its time to correct them. It’s time to do the right thing admitting his feelings is the first step. Will he be in time and will Maddie reciprocate? 

Did I like this book? Yes. This was super fun and flirty. Nothing to deep or disturbing just an enjoyable fun loving read! You will relate to the characters and become invested in their success. Maddie is a hardworking beautiful girl, the pull that she has with Micah is intense. Ms Paige will make you feel right along with Maddie and Micah. Both of our main characters have legitimate fears but nothing dark or scary in their closets. It was nice to read about people with the same type of problems and fears that most of us have. The side characters were delightful, Micah’s best friend, and Maddie’s best friend added a lot of life to the story. Like I said earlier for a fun fluffy read pick up this book!

The Way I See It

Okay, okay that was just... W.O.W.  I have this crazy uneasy sinking feeling in my stomach that... *increase volume of the following words* THIS ENDED WITH A CLIFFHANGER!!!!   Gah!!!!! So overanalyzing can totally be the Libra in me, you know looking at both sides blah blah blah... I’ve always asked myself why, why, why? 

WELL... 

M. Paige, I must say you were masterful when it came to that sneaky sneaky cliffy... I don’t do the spoiler thing so I’m not going to go all into it, but i will say something gets presented mid-story about Hudson, then at the end the “evidence” is KIND OF in the picture, but there is this HUGE veil of happiness that makes it seem all “yeah whatevs no biggie,” BUT NOT THIS GIRL!!  This girl (me) was like omg omg omg hyperventilating!!! I was like “HONEY!  Is that Freebirds bag still on the counter? I can't breathe!” I love Hudson, I do, but I will go OLD SCHOOL Donkey Kong on his A$$!!! I’m talking Atari!! I don’t really know what Atari is, but it sounds old and menacing, so I’m gonna say it!  Deep breaths... 

F-rail, Alayna and Hudson’s relationship is under a lot of scrutiny. 

O-pen, Hudson can't say the words, but his actions prove to everyone his love for her. 

U-nderstanding, Alayna can forgive Hudson for his past indiscretions, a part of her knows why he has done some of the things he’s done. 

N-ever, Alayna knows where she stands, and will not put up with Sophia’s bitterness. 

D-read, secrets lead to painful doubt. Alayna has a hard time keeping them from Hudson. 

I-ndependent, accomplishing her dream is so close.  Alayna has to meet with her brother to cut ties and spread her wings. 

N-aive, tricked by a cunning manipulator, Alayna stands to lose everything she has worked so hard for. 

Y-earning, being away from Hudson tears Alayna apart, but she needs this, she needs to overcome her past. 

O-bsession, so many people have so many secrets. Suddenly, a trap is set. 

U-nited, after so much pain, a certain realization comes over Alayna.  Vowing to stay together, she and Hudson will fight for each other. 

I can honestly say I’m addicted to these books like seriously! I mean like angry at myself for falling asleep at 4am angry..like Hello? Sleep is NOT important.  Bloodshot eyes the following day not important!  Luckily sleep only overtook me for an hour or so, and I was able to continue! Yay for me! Yay for YOU!  This is one that will have you turning the pages in anticipation of what's to come! 

My Fav’s 

Hudson 

Gah!!  He is so lost.  He wants love and NEEDS love, but I doubt him from time to time!  It hacks me off but man!!  This guy has a serious past and if he hurts Alayna, I will lose a load.  Gross? Yea. It's.That.Serious.  He was amazing in this book.  Sure, he makes some mistakes, but who doesn’t right? I just want these two to be able to cut through the BULL...TOGETHER! I want to be angry at myself for doubting him, and I want to MURDER Celia!!! Gah!! She SNOWED me too!! 

Alayna 

Yeah, she has tendancies but WHO the BLEEP doesn’t?! She has worked really hard to become the woman she is. Alayna recognizes her stressors and fights them at every turn. A persons #1 enemy is themselves!  Lack of confidence or love in yourself leads to doubt and insecurities, duh! Alayna doesn’t know who to trust and what to believe.  I don’t always agree with her actions, but I understand why she does it, and I’m on her side! Yep, that simple!  I.Love.This.Girl!
