Lindy's Thoughts:

The Crossing the Line Series has been such a reading pleasure.  These are the type of romances that get a reader "hot and bothered!"  I have enjoyed this entire cast of characters, and Boiling Point is a book that I have been dying to read.  Austin Shaw and Polly Banks are two characters that I have needed to tell their story.  They had scorching hot chemistry and a love-hate dynamic in Up in Smoke, that I was highly anticipating being a spectator to how it would all play out.

Austin and Polly are two ex-convicts that have been recruited by Captain Derek Tyler for the use of their criminal know-how.  Austin is a master con-artist who uses the art of disguise to accomplish success, and Polly is a hacker extraordinaire.  Austin has been infatuated with Polly, and been trying to win her over.

Unfortunately, she doesn't trust him, and while they share an attraction, at times she cannot stand him.
While in Chicago, Polly is trying to find the con-man that swindled her fathers of their life savings.  She is determined to get their money back and return it.  Austin offers to help her, and she knows that he would be an asset to her cause.

As these two search for the master con-artist, they fall in to an intoxicating and passionate whirlwind affair.  Austin gives up power in the bedroom and becomes Polly's submissive, because he knows that she needs to be in control.  Austin is in love with Polly.  However, he doesn't think he deserves her.  He worries that eventually she will end their affair when she finds out everything about his shady past.  Will Polly and Austin catch the master-con man, and survive Austin's past?

Boiling Point was beyond steamy.  Let's face it, Tessa Bailey knows how to write sensual, erotic, passionate, and carnal romance.  I enjoyed the way that she took a risk with Austin's character.  All of her male leads have been dominant, and he was the first submissive she's created.  I believe her risk paid off.  I loved seeing Polly embrace a bold, dominant, take-charge lead, and Ms. Bailey did it in a way that emphasized Austin's adoration, devotion, and love towards Polly.  He wasn't wimpy, and at times he too took the lead.  His intention was to give Polly whatever she needed most, and he was confident enough in his sexuality, to embrace the submissive role.

As far as the story plot is concerned, I would have liked to see more development.  The movie, the Saint, is one of my favorite movies of all time.  Like Val Kilmer, I was looking forward to seeing Austin go undercover, use his various disguises, and be on the hunt.  However, this story lacked the action, suspense, and story arc I was craving.  It focused mainly on the sexual relationship between Austin and Polly, and I would classify Boiling Point as erotica.  The sex scenes were very detailed, drawn out, and lengthy.

If you are looking for a passionate, and erotic story focused on a heated sexual affair, Boiling Point is just the book that you are looking for.  Add in a little suspense, danger, and intrigue, and Boiling Point will have you salivating for more!

Rating:

I give Boiling Point, by Tessa Bailey, 4 Vengeful Vendetta, Scorching Hot Erotica, On the Case, Filled Stars!  I am ready to dive in to the next book in the series, Raw Redemption!  A Tessa Bailey book is a guaranteed hot read!

Mikki's Review:

Boiling Point, by Tessa Bailey, is one of my Top 5 most anticipated books of 2016. After so many months of teasing us with hot excerpt and sexy teasers, Tessa Bailey has delivered a book that caught my attention from the moment I opened the first page. I am a big fan of her work and the more I read her stories, the more I know that I have found the author that will always deliver all the feels when it comes to a riveting and unforgettable love story. Her stories are always fun, emotional, extremely hot and an all-consuming reading escape!

There is a fine line between love and hate. Polly Banks is a hacker who is about that cross that line and there is only one person to blame; con artist Austin Shaw. Brought together to work undercover with the Chicago PD, Polly and Austin start off on the wrong foot. Their chemistry is undeniable, but neither of them is willing to cross that line that will irrevocably change their lives. Revenge is on Polly’s mind and she’s not about to lose focus because of the sexy as sin con artist. As day go by, Polly and Austin grow closer together and give in to temptation. Losing control has never felt so good, but the past will soon catch up and cause havoc for Polly and Austin. Will they be able to let go of their pasts and take a step towards a future together?

From the moment I met Polly and Austin, I knew that these two would have a fantastic journey. They are so different from all of Tessa Bailey’s characters and I could not wait to see where this reading journey would bring me. Compared to her Line of Duty Series and all the other books she has written, The Crossing the Line Series has hands down the most inimitable and striking characters that I have ever met. The author did a fantastic job at bringing us characters that stand out and that leave you cheering for them while you discover who they are. They have so many layers and Tessa Bailey explored every single aspect of their personalities. The attraction between Polly and Austin is out of this world crazy hot! They can’t stand each other and when they get together it’s an explosion of sexiness. Their banter is pretty addictive and every single one of their encounter is intense.

The Queen of Dirty Talk exceeded all of my expectations. I have to admit that when I was reading the teasers about this book I was a little scared that I would not like it. The male characters in Tessa Bailey’s books are strong alpha males. It was difficult for me to imagine one of her alpha males giving up control. Enters Austin Shaw. This alpha male gives up control and gives Polly the green light to dominate every single one of her fantasies. It was different and I liked it. It was not over the top and it did not dominate the entire story. Their story is much more than their intense attraction to each other. This is a story about two people that are so different from one another, but yet so perfect for each other. There is no disguise big enough to hide who Austin Shaw really is. Polly knew exactly what kind of man he was and she did a fantastic job at bringing to light is real identity.

It was such a pleasure to reunite with all the other characters from this fantastic series. Bowen, Sera, Erin, Connor, Derek and Henrick, which is the main male character in the next installment. Each of these characters had a role to play in this story and the connection between all of them is absolutely amazing!

Tessa Bailey’s male characters usually have a pretty good friendship between each other. In this series, let’s just say that there is a long way to go before any bromance develops between them … lol!!! They can’t stand each other, but they will fiercely protect each other no matter what. They are so different and I love them just the way they are. I would not see them acting any other way. Their personalities is a reflection of their life story. That is how they roll and they will never change. The girls are a completely different story. Sera, Erin and Polly share a beautiful friendship that brings a smile to your face. They started out as strangers, but became good friends that help each other out.

You can read this book as a standalone, but I highly suggest you don’t. The first two installments will give you an inside scoop about the two other couples that will have a role in Polly and Austin’s book. You don’t want to miss these memorable stories. Trust me!

Our Review of Riskier Business HERE
Our Review of Risking It All HERE

Lindy's Thoughts:

Tessa Bailey brings us sexy as usual.  Hot, dirty-talking, passionate alpha males are her specialty!  I also love the way she effortlessly combines characters that compliment one another, and make you root for them.  The Crossing the Line series has been a pleasure, and I love the way that Ms. Bailey continues her secondary characters stories in each new installment that she writes.

In Up in Smoke, we have Captain Derek Tyler recruit a unique and talented set of criminals in to a specialized task force.  The key players of this undercover squad include Bowen and Sera, the main characters from Risking It All, Ex Navy Seal Connor Bannon, Escape Artist Erin O'Dea, Computer Hacker Polly Banks, and expert Con-Man Austin Shaw.  This story's primary characters are Connor and Erin.

Connor and Erin are the first to arrive at the introductory meeting established by Derek.  Both don't want to be a part of this task force, however they have their reasons for cooperating.  Sparks fly, and a game of cat and mouse ensues when Connor and Erin lay eyes on one another.  They are both intrigued by each other, and can't help but be drawn like a moth to a flame.  Pretty quickly, these two become attached  and overprotective of one another.  However, they have major challenges to overcome.  Connor always needs to be in control of every situation, and Erin needs to have her space and freedom.  Also, danger lurks in multiple ways, and Connor and Erin need to stay on their toes, to avoid it.

I loved Connor and Erin.  They both were the catalyst for character growth in one another.  Connor taught Erin how to trust, feel safe, and take chances, while Erin taught Connor to let go of his control.  They both brought love in to each other's lives which melted my heart, because they each had such painful and tragic pasts.  Erin was never shown love, and Connor only had his mother to care about him.  It was such a beautiful thing how they found a safe place, a family, home, and happiness together.

There was action, suspense and one assignment that the undercover squad worked on.  I loved watching Derek, Sera, Bowen, Connor, Erin, Polly and Austin work together, as well as develop the strong bonds of friendship.  They were all loners, but together they became a cohesive and loyal group.  I would have liked to have more action, suspense, and undercover work.  I found that aspect of the story fascinating, but it was minimal.  The plot focused mostly on the romance between Connor and Erin.  I enjoyed their emotional connection, and red hot sexcapades!

Rating:

I am looking forward to getting Austin and Polly's story!  Austin is a con that speaks many languages, can fake any accent, and is a master of disguise.  I hope that his story has him taking on many persona's, because I find his talent especially interesting.  Polly likes to tell it like it is, and is a fun character as well.  I can't wait to learn all of these two characters secrets, as well as get to continue to get more Derek, Sera, Bowen, Connor, and Erin.   I give, Up in Smoke, by Tessa Bailey, 4 Sexy Kindred Spirits, Mending and Making Each Other Whole Filled Stars!!!

Mikki's Review:

The Crossing the Line Series, by Tessa Bailey, is my absolute favorite series of hers! There is something so intoxicating and intriguing about the characters in this series. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of her characters and I am one of her biggest fans, but this series is explosive, unique and captivating! If you have not started this series, I highly recommend that you start by reading Risking It All, which is Bowen (My book husband … lol!) and Sera’s (She’s awesome! I love her!!) story. You can easily read Up in Smoke as a standalone, but trust me when I say that you don’t want to miss my BoVinci and his ladybug in action! ;)

Up in Smoke picks up where Risking It All left off. Bowen, Sera and Connor travel to Chicago to work with 3 other very talented people. The talent I’m talking about is not dancing, drawing or singing … Nope! These people have a special talent that Captain Derek Tyler (Line of Duty Series, #1) needs to close the case that he’s been working on. Connor Bannon is not very happy with the idea of working with all these ex-cons. Sera and Bowen are the only two people Connor trusts, until Erin O’Dea walks into the meeting and turns his world upside down. Erin is used to playing with fire, but the fire that Connor ignites in her is too much for her to handle. As days go by, Connor and Erin work close together and their feelings for each other are starting to grow into something more. Will the convicted arsonist and ex-navy seal be able to play with fire without getting burned?

Gah!!!!

Be still my beating heart!!!! Connor Bannon is one hell of an alpha male!!! Tessa Bailey creates the most amazing characters and makes them come alive by writing the most incredible stories! Connor surprised me. When he was first introduced in Risking It All, I knew that he was special. He was sweet and respectful with Sera and he helped Bowen with whatever was going on with them at that moment. What surprised me the most about him was how he took care of Erin. He was amazingly patient with her. The attraction between these two was incredibly hot and sexy! From the first moment they met, they got under each other’s skin. They worked together towards one goal and ended up getting more than what they had signed up for. They found each other. They are one hot couple! Each touch, kiss, sensual and steamy moment was intense. Make sure you have a couple of hours to read this book because you won’t be able to put it down!!! Erin and Connor will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end!

Can I just take a few minutes of your time to talk about Erin O’Dea? She is one intriguing heroine. I was really fascinated by her. Tessa Bailey did a fantastic job at writing both POV’s, but Erin’s POV totally left me breathless! Erin O’Dea needs a social media page so I can follow her exciting life!!! I’m her number one fan! She’s intense and she knows exactly what she wants! She's a breath of fresh air! Every reader has a place they call home. My home is wherever Tessa Bailey’s writing takes me. I highly recommend Up in Smoke and the Crossing the Line Series. You will not be disappointed!!

Disguised in Danger will be next in this series. This book will feature Polly and Austin, which were introduced in Up in Smoke. They worked well will all the other characters and I hope that in their book we will see more of the characters that I have come to love so much. Like always Tessa Bailey did a fantastic job at introducing us to her secondary characters, which are going to get their own book. She gives you just enough to make your want her next book ASAP.

Rating:

I give Up in Smoke, by Tessa Bailey, 5 seductive, exciting, explosive, hot, steamy stars!

Excerpt:

As if her thoughts had made him appear, Connor strode into the courthouse. Her pulse started beating double time, her stomach muscles tightening. Good Lord, the man was a fucking panty dropper. She’d only been away from him for a few hours and it felt like years since she’d experienced his presence. In jeans and a fitted gray T-shirt that molded to his muscles like her hands itched to do, he personified confidence and authority. Hot, rugged male. His gaze connected with hers immediately and darkened. She thought back to that morning when he’d dressed in the early morning light, his abs flexing as he pulled the shirt over his head. His erection barely contained by his boxers. She’d never been one to beg for anything, but she’d been seconds from offering him her mouth. Pleading for the privilege of sucking him off.

Conner shook his head at her with a sexy half smile on his face, as if he could read her thoughts across the room. He stopped at the metal detector and walked through after the security guard beckoned him forward. When the woman grabbed her wand and instructed him to raise his hands in the air, something ugly reared its head deep inside her. The detector hadn’t even beeped. There was no reason for the personal service. When the woman smiled at Connor and ran a hand down her ponytail, Erin propelled herself forward, boots echoing on the polished marble.

Erin hissed as she drew even with the guard. “If you’re done feeling up my boyfriend, I’d love a turn. We were in a rush this morning.”

The guard dropped the wand, letting it dangle near her thigh. “Did you just hiss at me?”

Erin hissed again.

“Okay.” Connor stepped between them, winking down at her. “We should go. Don’t want to keep the clerk waiting.”

Appreciation spread in her belly like honey. He hadn’t chided her for her behavior or apologized to the woman on her behalf. Instead he’d given the impression they were on their way to get married, appeasing her jealousy in one fell swoop. “That’s right.” She sauntered toward the elevator. “There’s vows to be exchanged. Rings to put on fingers. Sh*t like that.”

She glanced behind her to find Connor staring at her ass as she walked, so she put a little swing in her hips and savored his groan. Damn. She’d definitely never had this much fun at a courthouse.

A moment later, she and Connor stepped into an empty elevator. She hit the button for the top floor even though the clerk was on the first, and leaned back against the wall, looking up at him through her eyelashes. “How was your morning, baby? Was it worth leaving me in bed, all hot and bothered for you?”

“F*ck no, it wasn’t.” He crooked a big finger at her. “Climb on up here.”

About the Author:

Thank you for your interest in my books! I'm Tessa and I live in the crazy, loud, overcrowded borough of Brooklyn, New York. I love it here. This city is a constant source of inspiration, which is why I've decided to set my most recent books in the Line of Duty Series here.

I moved to New York when I was eighteen, the day after I graduated high school. Threw my suitcase in the back of a Chevrolet Cavalier and drove across the country to find my adventure. I'm still finding it, little by little.Thank you for being a part of it.

Synopsis:

NYPD detective Seraphia Newsom will avenge her brother’s death at any cost. Even if it means insinuating herself into a rough, Brooklyn street gang and going so far undercover, she’s not sure she’ll be able to get out. Every minute she spends in their midst means the clock ticking down on her life, especially when she overhears something that could get her killed.

Bowen Driscol is the heir to a crime enterprise. He never asked for the job, but with his father behind bars, he has no choice but to step in and keep the operation running. But when the NYPD blackmails him with a piece of damning information in exchange for aiding an undercover cop, he finds himself on the other side of the law for the first time in his life.

Bowen knows the danger Sera is in, and keeping her safe trumps saving his own ass. The problem? She can’t know he’s on her side. And there's the matter of the seriously inconvenient heat sparking between them that's incinerating his resistance. But Sera only sees Bowen's past, and men like him are the reason her brother is dead. If they're to get out alive, he'll have to risk exposing the man beneath, and hope to hell he doesn't blow the whole operation in the process.

Our Review of Riskier Business HERE

Lindy's Thoughts:

It's official, Bowen Driscol has ruined me for other book boyfriends!  Can there possibly be a sexier, more seductive, alluring leading male?  I tell you what, Ms. Bailey nailed the perfect romance, when she wrote, Risking It All.  My head was stuck in this book, and I didn't want this story to ever end!  Every moment between Bowen and Sera was breathtaking.  The passionate love scenes were sigh worthy, the magnetic chemistry palpable, and the plot had me on the edge of my seat!  All of these qualities made for an unbelievably addictive and downright sensual read!

Bowen Driscol is a very complex character.  He inherited a life of crime from his father.  He believes himself to be evil, but with the love and loyalty that he has shown his half sister, Ruby, in the previous book, we as readers know that there are two sides to Bowen.  One side is dark, dangerous, and unpredictable, while the other side is protective, loyal to those he loves, and in need of saving him from himself.

Seraphina "Sera" Newsom comes from a long line of law enforcement officers.  Her older brother died in the line of duty at the hands of a powerful crime lord.  She has decided to go undercover without permission, in order to gain justice for her brother by bringing down the man who took his life so easily.

Bowen is blackmailed by the NYPD to protect and watch out for Sera, so that she can get what she needs without getting killed.  However, he is not allowed to divulge the information that he knows who she really is, and that he is tasked with protecting her.

When Bowen and Sera saw each other for the first time, sparks flew, and the sexual tension between them continued to grow, until it turned in to something more.  These two made for one of the sexiest couples I have ever read about in a romance novel.  Ms. Bailey has a special way with words.  She completely brought, Risking It All, to life for me!  I loved every moment of it, and I know that other romance fans out there are in for one very exciting reading treat!

My Rating:

I give, Risking It All, by Tessa Bailey, 5 Tantalizing Inferno, Erotic Seduction, Corrupt, Dramatic, Suspense Filled Stars!

My Favorite Quote:

"You're my home, Sera.  The only one I've ever had.  I want to be yours, too.  Let me."  (eARC, Loc. 3007)

Mikki's Review:

Tessa Bailey’s naughty vault has once again opened to bring you two of her most intoxicating characters to date! Sera and Bowen will consume your every thought! Their love story will linger with you for hours after you have read the last page. Prepare to be swept away by Tessa Bailey’s new scorching, intense and emotional series. Because Risking it All for love is Oh, so worth it!

Ex-nurse turned cop falls for the heir to a criminal empire? Yes, please! Bring it ON!! Seraphina Newsom has revenge on her mind when she goes undercover to find her brother’s murderer. What she didn’t expect was for Bowen Driscol to enter her life. Seraphina knows she should stay away from him, but one taste of the best kind of trouble sets her body on fire. From the moment they meet their chemistry is undeniable. Bowen knows he can’t get close to Seraphina. He has a job to do and falling for the sweet virgin undercover cop is the last thing on his itinerary, but the more time he spends with Seraphina, the more she makes him feel things he’s never felt before. Will they risk it all for love?

From the moment Bowen Driscol was introduced in His Risk to Take, I was captivated by him. When Tessa Bailey announced that he was getting his own book, I was ecstatic! I know without a doubt that any book that Tessa Bailey writes has my undivided attention the moment it lands in my hands. The world literally stops when I sit down to read one of her books! Bowen is hands down my favorite alpha male from Tessa Bailey. Don’t get me wrong, all of Tessa’s dirty talkers have a piece of my heart, but Bowen?!?!?! Sweet Jesus! He would talk and I would be like ---> Ba Bammmm! Tingle effect ON!!! He’s all kinds of naughty deliciousness!

If you have ever read a Tessa Bailey book you know that the heat level of her steamy scenes is scorching! I needed a fan while reading her previous book, but for Risking it All …. Holy Hotness, baby! Forget about the fan!!! You need multiple cold showers to cool down! Bowen is a top-notch dirty talker! Let’s not forget about his Ladybug… She knows exactly what to say to get under his skin. These two are freakin’ hot together!

I could not have asked for more! Tessa Bailey has once again exceeded all of my expecations! Her writting style is EXQUISITE! She always knows how to mix things up to keep us at the edge of our seats. What I love about Tessa’s stories is that it always starts with lust at first sight. The heat factor is always ON from the moment the main characters meet, but the way they slowly fall in love is what gets me every single time! Their love stories are all-consuming and simply unforgettable! Let’s not forget about when she brings back characters from the previous books. That always puts a big smile on my face! That is an awesome gift for the fans. We always want to know what our favorite characters are up to. In Risking it All we get to reunite with a few characters that are pretty freakin' awesome!

I crossed the line, and I can't get enough! The first two installments of the Crossing the Line Series have been PHENOMENAL!!! I can’t wait to read about Connor in Up in Smoke. I really liked him in Risking it All.

My Rating:

I give, Risking it All, by Tessa Bailey 5 steamy, page-turning, exceptional, BoVinci-loves-Ladybug forever stars!
