Synopsis:

Cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted...my name is Tex Campisi and this is my legacy. I killed my father in cold blood and lost my soul right along with him.

I crave war more than peace, and I'm about to take my place in history as the youngest Capo dei Capi in the Cosa Nostra...that is until someone stops me, saves me from myself.

But the only person able to do that...is my best friends sister, Mo Abandanato, and she just ripped my heart out and asked me to hold it in my hands while she put bullets through it.

Im cursed so I did it.
I'm numb so I held it.
I'm wicked so I liked it.
I used the pain Mo caused as a catalyst to turn into my biggest nightmare--the five families greatest enemy. It's my turn to take a stand, knowing full well I'm going to lose my mind to the madness that is the American Mafia. I've always been told Blood is thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You will betray. You will kill.

The only way out is death...yours.

Excerpt:

"Eight minutes where I'd rather time didn't exist." I whispered watching pain roll across his face in a wave.

"Kiss me again."

With a soft exhale, he brushed his lips across mine, little feathery strokes that tempted me with promises of something more. He used his tongue to trace the outline of my lips before sliding inside, past my teeth, tasting every inch of me, giving me every inch he could of himself. Living in the moment, both of us knowing that it would soon be over.

"Seven." I whispered against his mouth.

"Go to school," he urged for a second time. "Make mistakes, Mo. Get in trouble, let Nixon find you sneaking wine into your backpack. Get sent to the Dean's office, make mistakes," he said again then licked his lips. "Let someone pick up the pieces of your broken heart, let someone fix what I destroyed."

"What if I want to drop out and hermit myself in my room?" I refused to look at him.

"That's not living, Mo." Tex cupped my face. "I have five minutes left with you, do you want me to use it to kiss you or lecture you on why I'm right?" I grinned as a tear slid down my cheek.

"Both."

His smile matched mine. "I forget how much you like being scolded."

"Only if the one scolding has a firm hand."

"Every last inch of me is firm and you know it." Tex tugged me into his lap. "School will distract you, it will give you a better future then guns and war, it will take your focus from tragedy to the future. Please, for me, Mo, please try to do normal."

"Normal." I shook my head. "Not sure I know what that word is."

"Normal," Tex repeated. "Making love to someone under a tree not because you have to say goodbye, but because it's the best way you can think to say hello." My lower lip quivered. "Normal." His voice was hoarse. "Marrying the love of your life not because her brother shoots you at point blank range--but because not marrying her would be a fate worse than death." He was silent then added, "Three minutes." I clenched his shirt with my hands and fought the urge to sob against his chest. "Normal." Tex's voice was barely audible. "Going from country to country, traveling all over the world, not because you have a hit on you, but because you want to see the girl you love smile in every country God ever created."

I knew the time was ticking by, it seemed the less time we had the faster it went, I guess that's life. I was looking at two more minutes, maybe less, with my lover, my friend, and all I could do was clench his shirt in my hands and twist, somehow willing him to stay on the ground rather than get up and walk towards certain death.

"Normal." Tex moved to his feet, helping me up. "Giving the woman you love two hours of your time, because you can't imagine spending your minutes, those precious seconds, any other way." Tex kissed my mouth hard, nearly bruising my lips before stepping back and kissing my nose. "Time's up," he said gruffly.

"We're no longer friends." I said it as a statement, not even a question.

"For two hours I was your lover, your friend, your everything." Tex looked away. "For the rest of eternity--I'm now your enemy."

Review:

Oh.my.God!!!!!!!!!!

Breathe in ... Breathe out ... Breathe in ... Breathe out!!!!

I don't even know where to freakin' begin with Elicit! I skipped dinner, I lost slept and my house is a mess, but who cares!!!!! This book was 100% worth it all!!!! I have read all of the books in the Eagle Elite Series, and I am addicted!!! I can't get enough!!! Rachel Van Dyken created a world where I want to escape to every single time!

Elicit is all about Tex Campisi and Monroe Abandonato. Tex and Mo's world will forever change when destiny comes knocking on the door and Tex has to take his place as the youngest Capo dei Capi. A destiny that might cost him his friends and the woman that he loves.

I don't really want to give anything away about Tex and Mo's story. There are so many twists and turns that my head is still spinning!! This fourth installment of the Eagle Elite Series was more dark, emotional and intense than the other books. If you have not read any books of this series I highly recommend that you add them to your TBR list ASAP!! Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Rachel Van Dyken's writing style is PHENOMENAL!!! Don't get me wrong, I loved the previous books of this series, but Elicit, Oh.my.sh*t!!!  I lost count of all the WTF moments that left me speechless. This is an EPIC love story that will keep you turning the pages, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page!

Tex and Mo are an explosive couple! Two strong and passionate people that are willing to do whatever it takes to protect one another. The chemistry between these two is blazing hot and the love that they have for each other is breathtaking! Prepare for some major *Swoon* attacks. Tex Campisi is AMAZING!!! I really liked Nixon and Chase in the previous books, but Text?!?!?! Oh, Mamma Mia! This Capo stole my heart!!! And, don't even get me started with Mo. She is the kind of heroine I love to read about. She's confident and she fights for what she wants. Nobody orders her around, and if they do, they will pay! She's a kicka** mafia princess! ;)

I often talk about my connection with the characters in a book. In this series, I have connected with all of the characters. After reading Elicit, I feel like I really know them all. These characters grew in each and every book. Nixon, Trace, Chase, Mil, Tex, Mo and other characters who I won't mention because I don't want to give out spoilers, all hold a special place in my heart. I loved the banter between the Eagle Elite boys and their girls. Freakin' hysterical!!! I LOL in so many occasions! Chase and Mil are getting extra brownie points for their scenes. I love these two to pieces!!! Another thing that I love in these books is the multiple POV's. And, I'm not only talking about two POV's . This book had more than three POV's and it made the story even more addicting! This series made me FEEL. I laughed and cried with them. Please make sure you have a box of tissues near by because you are going to need it! My heart is breaking all over thinking about the difficult moments these characters had to overcome.

Eagle Elite is my first mafia related series that I read, and I love it!!! Rachel Van Dyken really knows how to pull us into the story from beginning to end! I highly recommend this series! It's in my top five favorite series of all time! I can't wait to see what's next!!!!!

Excerpt

By the time I got back to the room, Chase was in the bathroom. The shower was running, and I could have sworn I heard him singing some sort of Frank Sinatra song, but it’s entirely possible I made it up. Trace hadn’t been the only one drinking wine.

With a flourish I fell across the bed and let out a huge sigh — the type of sigh a girl lets out when she’s trying to let the person next to her know that something’s not right.

Lucky me. All I had was a wall.

Right, so I was sighing at a damn wall.

I sighed again.

Well, no time like the present. I wasn’t sure which side of Chase I was going to get tonight. The hot-as-hell arrogant asshole, who made me want to slap him almost as much as I wanted to kiss him? Or the funny, easy-going, hormonal teenager, who had left earlier this evening after staring at my boobs like he was twelve?

I smirked at the thought. Me and my sigh would take either one. The water turned off in the bathroom. The door swung open. I glanced and almost fell off the bed.

Chase naked.

Chase. Was. Naked.

Clearly he wasn’t aware that I was in the room. He didn’t turn, just ran the fluffy white towel around his dripping body. Licking my lips, I felt my pulse jump as he wiped a few droplets that streamed down his face. Damn, I wanted to run my tongue along the trails the water created. My breathing picked up — and I swore under my breath as that same towel ran down his ridiculously tight abs. I was completely wrecked, my body strung so tight I was afraid to keep breathing — afraid that it was too loud — and I didn’t want the show to end.

“How were the girls?” Chase asked without turning around.

Aw, crap. Embarrassed, I cleared my throat and scolded my eyes for continuing to remain on his muscled body. Just one more look, I promised myself, and then I’d be fine.

“Good.” I continued my bold stare. His ass was fine. Seriously. Fine.

“You get some wine and food?” he asked, wrapping the towel around his waist. Bummer.

“Yup,” I squeaked, my voice sounding all kinds of immature.

“So,” he padded over to the bed and sat, “dinner and a show, huh?”

“I, uh—” Laughing, I scooted away from him toward the pillows. “I was going to say something, but—”

“Cut the shit, Mil.” Chase smirked. “You were ogling.”

“Girls don’t ogle.”

“Oh?” That gorgeously perfect idiotic face mocked me with every ounce of hotness. Damn Chase Winter. Damn beautiful man. God should have at least taken pity on the female race and made him short or fat or anything but what I was staring at. A muscled god with dark skin, bright green eyes, and a smile that made a girl immediately want to do anything she could to trap him into marriage.

“What’cha thinking about?” He smirked again.

Review

Absolutely Spectacular!!!!

The first book I have ever read by Rachel Van Dyken was Elite, which is book one in the Eagle Elite Series. I knew from the moment that I opened that book that I was going to be a huge fan of hers! I have devoured every book in the Eagle Elite Series and in her Ruin Series. I wish we could work two days out of seven instead of five, so I could have time to read all the other books that she has written ... lol!

I have been a big fan of Chase since book one and I was extremely happy to see him get his own book. Mil also captivated me with her confidence and determination. These two are made for each other! Their chemistry is blazing hot! You can really feel Chase's love for Mil. He would die for her. He lives and breathes for her. Mil has always been in love with Chase. He was her first love and the one she can't forget. She comes back into Chase's life when he has hit rock bottom. His heart is broken and a future with the woman he loves has slipped away. When Mil becomes the boss of the De Lange clan, she  asks Chase for his help. They have a love/hate relationship that soon turns into an unforgettable love story. When her secrets are revealed, Mil and Chase unite with their friends to bring down the one person who could end it all.

Oh, my squeeeeee!!! This book was absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!! A fantastic third installment that kept me awake way past my bedtime! Mil, Chase, Trace, Nixon, Mo and Tex have made this reading escape a memorable one! I love all of these characters! I fell in love with each and every one of them and I wish this series would never end! I loved the multiple POV's. It's amazing to read a book from different perspectives. My heart was beating fast, I was laughing, I was screaming, I was trying to solve the mystery that was hiding between the families.  I was shocked when the secrets slowly started to get revealed. Everything from the past books was beginning to make sense and it was well intertwined into this story. They are not joking when they say Blood in-No out :/

This journey was action-packed, intense and electrifying! Secrets, mystery, suspense, betrayals, lies, passion, romance ... God! This book had it all! When I finished reading Entice I was left at the edge of my seat with the sneak peek that we got from Elicit. It left me like this...

despicable me animated GIF

Eeeeeeep!!!! Elicit is going to be AMAZING!!!!

I give, Entice, by Rachel Van Dyken 5 all-consuming, intriguing, passionate, intense, unputtable-down stars! If you have yet to discover this series or Rachel Van Dyken's amazing talent ... What in the world are you waiting for??? Her books are brilliant!
