Synopsis:

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I’d never been able to forget—even though he so easily forgot about me—and call him.

Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you’ve had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless, prank call. Instead, I went off on him—unloading thirteen years of pent-up emotions.

I didn’t think he’d call me back.

I certainly could never have anticipated the weeks of sexually tense phone conversations that followed as I got to know the man he’d become.

Turned out, Landon had never really forgotten me, either. That special connection we had was still there. I opened up to him, but there were also things about me he didn’t know. And he had his own secrets.

Over the countless hours we talked on the phone, I wondered what would happen if we actually saw each other. One night, I did something impulsive again. Only this time, I went to the airport and booked a ticket to California. We were about to find out if one phone call could bring two lost souls together or if my drunk dial really was all just a big mistake.

A complete STANDALONE.

Review:

When I'm looking for an all-consuming reading escape, Penelope Ward is on my list of authors that I turn to without a doubt. She always delivers all the feels and her characters are simply irresistible! When I read the blurb for Drunk Dial and saw the cover appear on my social media news feed, I was super excited to read about Rana and Landon's love story.

What would you do if somebody from your past would drunk dial you? Would you take it seriously or would turn the page on the past? Rana Saloomi never expected to see or talk to Landon Roderick ever again. Thirteen years have passed since that memorable friendship she shared with Landon. With a bit of liquid courage in her body, Rana makes the decision to look him up. Will it be a mistake or will that one drunk dial call change her life forever?

Once again Penelope Ward delivered a love story that made my heart burst with love and joy for the precious characters that she brought to life. Rana and Landon's life journey is one I will never forget. Both these characters have overcome many obstacles in their respective lives and I was mesmerized by how they crushed every one of those obstacles and moved on to make a life for themselves.

I loved the fun and flirty chemistry that Rana and Landon shared. Their love story was slowly blooming before my eyes and I was so happy for these two characters when they reunited and formed an even stronger bond that they already had. I absolutely loved the supporting cast of characters in this story. It was amazing to read about them and how they connected with Rana and Landon. This love story was unique, a breath of fresh air and inspiring! The little fun notes from Rana and Landon's past put a huge smile on my face and gave me all the feels! I highly recommend every single title that this author has published. Unputdownable reading escape guaranteed!

Rating:

I give, Drunk Dial, by Penelope Ward, 4.5 heartwarming, sexy, romantic, Tell Me Something Funny stars!
