Synopsis:

Just when Romero thought he'd conquered his anger issues...

Now that Izzy has earned her credentials to teach at a college level, Romero is doing his best to be supportive. Even after she informs him she won't be teaching.

She'll be assisting a professor—a recently divorced professor whom she'll work with side by side.

Isabel loves being home with her kids, but she's ready to get back to her career—back to a world where she can enjoy some in-depth political conversations with someone who really gets it. The brilliant Political Science professor she's assigned to assist seems to be the perfect fit.

But when those conversations get a little personal, Isabel isn't sure if she's just being silly or if the professor is sending insidiously veiled messages.

Romero's knack for picking up on her unease only complicates things, especially because Isabel also has a big Christmas surprise for him. With suspicions awakened, Romero's interpretation of Isabel's sneakiness stirs that dormant rage he hasn't had to deal with in years, and emotions become furiously Tangled.

Lindy's Thoughts:

The Moreno Series, by Elizabeth Reyes, is what got me back in to reading, and to this day, I love it as much as when I first discovered this memorable and favorite cast of characters.  Whenever I get the opportunity to read a book by Ms. Reyes, I immediately drop whatever I am reading, because I know that it will be an excellent read.  She delivers the cream of the crop when it comes to romantic, sexy, and fun stories!

In Tangled, we get a Christmas Novella featuring the very hot-tempered and uber scrumptious apha, Romero.  His wife Izzy, has decided to return back to work, so that she can utilize her graduate degree in Political Science, and do what she's dreamed of; delivering college lectures!  Romero and Izzy have a wonderful life and beautiful family.  Their two children, six year old Mandy, and four year old Romeo, are the apple of both of their eyes.  Romero wants to have more children and have his wife stay home raising them, whereas, Izzy's been leaning toward being done having children and returning to the workforce for good.

Romero has matured a lot, and learned how to control his notorious temper in the several years that him and Izzy have been married.  However, his temper, restraint, and sense of security is tested when he becomes suspicious of the professor's motives that Izzy is working for.  Can Romero trust Izzy or does he have something to really worry about?

Tangled was a real page-turning treat!  I loved seeing how Romero and Izzy have evolved as individuals and a couple over the years.  Their children were adorable, and Romero's uncles were hilarious as usual.  Although they stirred up more trouble than necessary!  I loved getting glimpses of Angel, Alex, Sal, Val, Brandon, and Gina!  Can I say that I fell a little more in love with Brandon, even though this was Romero's book?  He's such a sweet, loving, and amazing husband!  All of the quality time that Izzy and Romero spend with the Moreno's make this story all the more wonderful to read!

My Rating:

Romero and Izzy still have that beautiful, and passionate love affair going on that they had at the very beginning.  They may be married with kids, but their relationship still has the romantic and tender moments, as well as heated and sexy moments!  I give, Tangled, by Elizabeth Reyes, 4 Spicy Jealousy, Sexy Smirk, Passionate Love Filled Stars!!!

Ro's Take On This Journey:

Tangled, by Elizabeth Reyes, will capture it's readers from the first sentence, to the last, in this fast-paced, page turning novella!  I loved it!  As usual, Eli knows how to put her readers in the zone and keep them turning pages so fast, that they forget about everything else they are suppose to be doing!  I was taken back to the love affair between Romero and his wife, Izzy, as if I had just read their story for the first time.

The sexy, smooth, skilled lover that Romero has always been, oozes through the pages so delectably that you can feel your way through the love scenes, glances, and nuances, that come about throughout the novella.  This duo is hot!  They have that same fiery brilliance that shines and fills it's readers with excitement and the thrills are unmeasurable.  Eli has a way with words.  She is a specialist at what she does best, and she weaves a tale that takes your breath away over and over again.

Readers will never tire of the Moreno Brothers.  There is always room for more.  In this little holiday novella, the reader gets to experience Izzy going back to work, since her daughter, Mandy is in school full time, and her son Romeo, is in Pre-K with extended hours.  The degree she worked so diligently to complete through online classes has finally paid off.  She is hired to give lectures and assist a college Professor, that is only too eager to mentor her in more ways than one!

This novel tests the trials of time, when Romero, who is a suspicious character when it comes to other men, has to keep his cool in order to show that he has grown out of the hot head he once was.   Although he does a great job, he lets his thoughts get the best of him, along with his all too encouragable, nosey uncles.  The story includes glimpses of the rest of the Moreno Clan, and the reader will enjoy every second of it!

I love a holiday romance, with a little something extra, and that is exactly what the Queen of Romance has served us on a golden plate!  Enjoy...I know I did.  This story is full of surprises.

My Rating:

I give Tangled, by Elizabeth Reyes, 4.5 Sexy, Funny, anxiety filled, Titilating Stars!!!

Mikki's Review:

Eeeeep!!

It felt so good to reunite with some of my favorite characters for the holiday season. I have been a fan of Elizabeth Reyes for a few years now, and every time one of her book comes out, it's a SQUEE fest at my house! I'm happy, my husband is happy (not because he reads the books, but because I'm not around to bust his chops ... lol!) and most of all I get to fall in love with new characters or reconnect with the ones that have already stolen my heart.

Romero, Romero, Romero .... He's a real FIREBALL! Yup! Our papasote is not only a hot tamale, but he's super intense as well! When I first read his story, which is the forth book in The Moreno Brothers series, I was pleasantly surprised by him. I started to connect with him in the previous books and by the time he got his own story I felt like I understood him more. Romero is DIFFERENT! And, that's what I absolutely love about him! He's far from being perfect, but that's what makes him the unique and memorable character that he is. I was so happy to learn that we were going to check-in with Romero and Izzy. They have a special place in my heart and I could not wait to get some much needed RomIzzy updates!

A few years have passed since Romero and Izzy got married and they have two beautiful children. Izzy has been taking care of the kids and her teaching career has been on hold. Now that the kids are older, she takes a step towards her teaching career. As the days go by, Romero can't shake the feeling that Izzy is hiding something. What sets his blood on is how close she got to Professor Banderas. Will he be able to deal with this unexpected situation or will his old temper come back and take control of him?

I absolutely loved this novella! I am so proud of the way Romero and Izzy resolved this whole ''Izzy going back to work" situation. Romero's not really happy about it, but Izzy is his life and he wants to see her smile be happy. He would do anything for her and he grew so much from the hot tempered person that he was when I first met him. The communication between a couple is very important. We could see that a few lies, even if they were told with no bad intention could cause a lot of trouble for a couple. What I liked the most about this novella is that it's so easy to relate to what Izzy and Romero went through. It does not mean because we have found ''The One'' that everything will be easy peasy in the future. They had to overcome some obstacles that neither of them expected, but they did it TOGETHER, which is the most important thing.

I had a blast reading Tangled! I was so happy to reunite with The Morenos and my heart absolutely melted for one of Elizabeth Reyes' alphas. I won't tell you which one, but you will totally swoon just like I did when you read a specific mall scene between Izzy and Mr. Swoon. Gah!!!!! I wish all of Elizabeth Reyes' characters would get their own novella!! I can't get enough of them and of her beautiful and unforgettable stories!

My Rating:

I give, Tangled, by Elizabeth Reyes 4.5 fun, fast-paced, sexy stars!

Excerpt:

Excerpt setup: Isabel's behavior since going back to work—with the professor—has become increasingly strange. The behavior hasn't gone unnoticed by Romero who's trying his damndest to not jump to conclusions.

Isabel had just finished pouring herself a cup of tea when Romero rushed into the kitchen.

“I gotta go,” he informed her. “Your car’s in the way. Where are your keys?” Isabel turned just in time to see him heading for her purse on the counter. Without thinking, she practically lunged toward it and grabbed it before he could. He froze on the spot and stared at her until she looked down at her purse, feeling like an idiot. Without asking, she already knew what he was thinking.

“What’s that about?” he asked, glaring down at her purse as she fished her keys out.

“I gotta go too,” she said. “So no need to move my car. I was just leaving.”

He was still peering at her with that telling heat in his eyes, and he tilted his head. “Anything we need to talk about?”

“Nope,” she said trying to sound playful, but he still wasn’t smiling.

In fact, his glare had gone harder. “You hiding something from me, Isabel?”

“Yes,” she admitted, trying to smile genuinely, especially after hearing him call her Isabel.

She leaned in and kissed him. “Christmas is just around the corner, baby. There are things hidden all over, including my purse.”

They stood there facing off for a moment more before he leaned in and kissed her back since he hadn’t so much as puckered up the first time. “I’ll be glad when I find out what this surprise of yours is because it’s making you jumpy as shit.”
